Chapter 304
The World Honored One, Buddha, Treasure, Celestial Master, and Talisman are gathered in
[The ordaining master unleashed the power of the Primordial Dao Register—'stripping' it away—silencing the Bodhisattva's chanting in the 'Crimson Origin Hall,' and transforming the essence of its divine power into his own, greatly increasing his merit!]
[The recipient of the ordination experienced three profound awakenings, his primordial spirit shone brightly, and he resided in the Purple Palace of the Great Dao. His Dao cultivation at the fifth realm, 'Primordial Spirit Astral Projection,' was now perfectly complete!]
[The ordained master can find the secret manual of the 'Great Elixir of Magical Power,' and use this 'Secret Manual of Alchemy' to advance to a high level of alchemy cultivation, pursue supernatural powers, and ascend to the rank of True Person!]
Ji Xiu opened his eyes, his gaze sharp and bright, a hint of joy in them.
"My original intention was simply to see if I could use the 'stripping' authority of the Heavenly Master's Talisman to lend a hand to this Palace Master Li, but I never expected such an unexpected surprise."
“The Bodhisattva of the Great Vehicle Wuliang Temple at its peak is probably extraordinary. Even if it has only just been revived, I can only suppress and eliminate the Buddhist chants and Zen atmosphere in a corner of the Chiyuan Hall by using my authority, and that is my limit.”
"If he hadn't fled, but instead intensified his efforts, determined to wipe everything out of the Crimson Origin Palace, even if I used all my mental strength, I wouldn't have been able to do anything about it. The reason is simply that the difference in their ranks is too great."
Thinking of this, Ji Xiu couldn't help but feel secretly fortunate.
The power that had just stripped him of his authority was so great that it could even suppress a Bodhisattva, whose status was comparable to the pinnacle of human existence, for a moment, which truly startled him.
However, the difference between the two is simply too great.
This resulted in Ji Xiu being only able to rely on his power and position to seize a small corner of the land. He appeared strong, but in reality, he was already at the end of his rope, outwardly strong but inwardly weak.
Apart from the Crimson Origin Hall, nothing else could suppress the overwhelming Buddhist chants and Zen atmosphere even slightly.
Fortunately, for some reason, when the Bodhisattva saw the Celestial Master's authority manifest, he instantly turned into a frightened bird and disappeared without a trace, thus avoiding any further trouble.
This celestial medicine, "Spring Before Illness," has been perfectly refined and fully formed.
Thinking of this, Ji Xiu looked at the feedback from the Primordial Dao Talisman and couldn't help but look inward again, glancing at the 'Primordial Dao Talisman'.
All that could be seen was the line of ink inscriptions recording the cultivation of Daoist practices—
[Ordination Ceremony Master: Ji Xiu]
[The fifth realm of Daoist cultivation, reaching the perfect state of Astral Projection!]
The primordial spirit leaves the body, and the fifth realm of Daoist cultivation is achieved!
As he carefully sensed the power within his Dao Purple Mansion—the ability to unleash Dao techniques and shatter the vacuum with a mere thought—Ji Xiu secretly clenched his fist.
According to ancient texts, the "restless mind and agitated breath" state of mind that is the first stage of enlightenment is the most difficult to overcome. Many Taoist practitioners have been struggling for many years and have never been able to achieve perfection.
"If I had to say what I gained from this trip to Cangdu, it would be the 'Dao Gong' stage that I acquired the most!"
"Furthermore, within the Crimson Origin Hall, I gained the approval of that Pure Yang Heavenly Official, which triggered a portion of the Celestial Master's talisman's bestowal, successfully causing the Primordial Dao Talisman to undergo another transformation."
"Now I have everything ready, except for the final push!"
"Once I have finished dealing with the matters at hand, I will be able to enter the dream world and go to the time of 'the end of Brahma and the beginning of the mystery,' to become the Dao Lord of Impermanence of All Things, and to comprehend the 'Great Dao of the Golden Elixir'!"
Ji Xiu had a clear goal in mind. He murmured softly, then snapped out of his reverie and heard Li Qianyuan, the Lord of the Crimson Origin Palace, asking him a question. Knowing that Li Qianyuan knew the details, Ji Xiu decided not to hide anything from him.
"Yes, when I stepped into the Crimson Origin Hall and saw the portrait of the Heavenly Master, I vaguely sensed that I had obtained a 'authority'."
"When I saw the temple master unleash the 'Dao Talisman' and strike the heavens to fight against the Brahma chant, I suddenly had a flash of inspiration and instinctively activated that Dao authority."
"But unexpectedly, the effect was so great that it frightened the Bodhisattva, who then retreated, thus resolving the crisis."
"But those are all secondary considerations. What's crucial right now is this 'heavenly medicine,' and we don't know if it will be affected."
As Ji Xiu spoke, he couldn't help but focus his gaze on the emerald green pill covered with celestial patterns.
It appeared to float in mid-air, its Daoist aura complete, radiating an aura of 'vibrant life force, with all things flourishing'.
Even within three inches of it, a phantom image of the 'Sumeru Immortal Fruit' appeared, looking perfectly round and flawless, indicating that the elixir was complete.
But to be absolutely sure, I asked one more question.
Then they heard Li Qianyuan burst into laughter:
"I have fulfilled my mission, young friend."
"The elixir of life, [Spring Before Illness], has been successfully prepared!"
"Place it carefully in this brocade box made from ice jade spirit marrow. You can take it with you at any time to Jiangyin Prefecture so that the young lady can recover from her illness and resume her cultivation!"
When Li Qianyuan heard Ji Xiu frankly admit that he had been granted the authority to 'strip' his rank, he forcibly suppressed his excitement.
As he took out the Heavenly Frost Jade Box, which exuded a thin layer of mist and was carved from the essence of cold marrow, and placed the Heavenly Medicine [Spring Before Illness] inside, he didn't forget to lean close and whisper a thousand instructions:
"Young friend, remember this: what you have obtained is only a portion of the authority of the Celestial Master's talisman. Do not use it so easily in the future."
"The reason why the Mahayana Bodhisattva fled was because he had been beaten so badly by the Celestial Master Xuanye that he lost all his courage and was so frightened that he ran away without thinking."
"But if he comes to his senses, he will surely ponder the intricacies of the matter, which might cause you trouble."
"Similarly, if there are other Daoist sects of the 'Righteous Law Heaven' lineage, they will surely recognize you if they see your authority and divine power."
"You will need to consider this matter carefully in the future."
"in addition."
Li Qianyuan placed the jade box containing the celestial medicine in Ji Xiu's palm; it felt icy cold to the touch, and his tone was serious:
"Young friend, since you have obtained the authority of the Celestial Master, you must go to the Water Lord's Palace, which is a blessed land left by the Celestial Master in the past."
"There is this relationship involved."
"You will surely be able to take away the gifts within!"
Hearing Li Qianyuan's instructions carefully, Ji Xiu accepted the jade box with great care, then tucked in his sleeves and cupped his hands in a respectful bow.
"I will remember the words of the Palace Master. I will never forget your help today!"
Upon hearing this, Li Qianyuan smiled knowingly.
"Young friend, you are too kind. I have said before that you and I are destined to meet."
"I imagine that soon, when my lineage at Nanming Mountain holds the 'Luotian Grand Ritual' to worship Heaven,..."
"We'll meet again."
Cangdu, the westernmost point, the Great Vehicle Wuliang Temple.
The temples, with their red walls and white tiles, stood in rows, their incense burning brightly amidst the rising smoke and wisps of mist, where one could witness the solemn and sacred manifestation of the Bodhisattva.
Instantly, countless Buddhist and Taoist practitioners were overwhelmed with excitement, as if witnessing a divine miracle.
Whether it's a novice monk who has just entered the sect, or a great master who has cultivated for a long time, or even a Vajra who has achieved a title!
Upon witnessing the Bodhisattva's revival, everyone was tolerant and accepting!
however.
Seeing that the Bodhisattva was about to make a strong move as soon as he appeared, he was about to wipe out the Chiyuan Hall, which had been at odds with the 'Mahayana Wuliang Temple' for decades.
However, he only made half of his move before abruptly stopping.
Not only did the Bodhisattva's throne disappear, but even the heavenly chants and the strange phenomena of celestial flowers vanished into nothingness.
Seeing this scene.
Many Buddhists immediately looked at each other, whispered among themselves, and discussed the matter, completely baffled:
Why has the Bodhisattva suddenly stopped moving?
"For decades, the Crimson Origin Hall has repeatedly made things difficult for us Buddhists. Now that the Bodhisattva has been resurrected, he should be punished properly. How can he just give up like this?" "Insolence! How can we, lowly monks, presume to know the Bodhisattva's thoughts and cultivation? He naturally has his own considerations!"
Amidst the cluster of temples, doubts arose one after another, and reprimands from the monks who enforced the law frequently surfaced.
Standing atop the group of temples is the Mahayana Buddhist Hall, modeled after the "Great Hero Hall" of Lingshan Mountain.
The abbot of Wuliang Temple, 'Guanhai Luohan', a small and thin man draped in a kasaya, was now filled with astonishment and doubt in his eyes. Even his withered hands beneath his sleeves trembled slightly.
"By the mandate of Heaven, and may your life be long and prosperous, you are stripped of your power and stripped of your position."
Guanhai Luohan had witnessed this scene before, when he was still young and just a novice monk.
Before he had attained Arhatship, he was sent by the 'Great Deity of Reception' to be the mainstay of the great plan to revive the Bodhisattvas, and the orthodox master of a branch of the temple.
Instead, they were part of the 48,000 Buddhist soldiers of the Pure Land, serving as one of those who waged war against the Dharma.
It was that battle.
He followed the Great Vehicle Bodhisattva of that time and witnessed firsthand the 'Celestial Master's Edict' that was unleashed, causing the Three Mountains and Five Lakes to bow down and the sun, moon, and stars to weave a net!
With just a single rebuke, it was as if his words carried the law of heaven, extinguishing the brilliance of Buddhism and Taoism, and reducing the forty-eight thousand Buddhist and Taoist followers to mere mortals!
Then they were attacked by the Taoist soldiers who had received the official titles and talismans.
It was scattered and nearly collapsed, with very few survivors!
As one of the few survivors, Guan Hai Luohan remembered it vividly.
He thought he would never see that talisman again after so many years, but unexpectedly...
To be able to see it again in this corner of the Great Xuan!
As for why the Bodhisattva suddenly fled and the story abruptly ended.
Ordinary monks and Buddhists were unaware of the inside story and thought that the Bodhisattva had his own plans. But Guan Hai, the Arhat who had followed the Bodhisattva for so long, had a clear understanding of the situation.
The countless Bodhisattvas of Mahayana Buddhism were afraid.
He was once hailed as one of the most promising Bodhisattvas to attain Buddhahood, and he held a respectable seat under the Buddha at Vulture Peak.
Originally, having received the World-Honored One's decree, and given that the Celestial Master of the Righteous Dharma had been unable to break through to the 'Immortal' realm for generations, while all the other celestial officials holding the Daoist registers of the first rank stood idly by...
Just as he was striving for progress, he wanted to seize the destiny of the immortals and obtain the 'Buddha' fruit by his own hands.
But because of that defeat, his Buddhist and Taoist fortune and destiny were stripped away.
As a result, from then on, his position on Mount Ling fell to the very end.
There is no other reason.
Because his physical body and soul were both scattered, only his primordial spirit returned, his Zen mind was destroyed, and his destiny as a Buddha was lost.
He has gone from being a great Bodhisattva who had the best chance of becoming a Buddha to someone who is forever stuck in his fate, waiting for his soul to decay and die, at which point he will completely pass away and be unable to escape the sea of suffering.
This has become a constant 'shadow' in his heart.
Now that it has just begun to recover, it has struck like a nightmare. How can it not make him hesitant to act rashly and desperately?
Even Arhats and Bodhisattvas require human beings to become them. If it weren't for those who truly attain Buddhahood, the long years would have worn away humanity to almost nothing.
Whoever comes, whether angry, sad, or joyful, will be somewhat disturbed.
Even the Bodhisattva was terrified and fled eight hundred miles midway.
"Could it be that the Crimson Origin Palace truly contains a backup plan from that Celestial Master of the Righteous Law Heaven back then?"
"Or perhaps... he also returned and recovered through some means?"
The Arhat Guanhai was filled with mixed feelings. Even though he was an Arhat, he was still completely confused and could not see any of the true meaning.
Only when a sudden burst of Buddhist light appeared in the sky and a lotus platform materialized did he abruptly raise his head, his aged white eyebrows relaxing:
"Buddha!"
Seeing a corner of the Dharma body revealed, the Arhat Guanhai clasped his hands together, his brows lowered, yet a hint of worry crept in his eyes:
"That was just now."
The Great Vehicle Bodhisattva, seated serenely on a lotus throne, descended to the Mahayana Hall. He was already feeling deeply melancholy when he heard these words; his once incomparably noble face immediately shifted between light and shadow.
"It's the same method Zhang Xuanye used back then, but it's not!"
"Just now."
He paused, feeling it would be beneath him to admit that he was frightened and had fled in a panic, instead offering a different explanation:
"Just now, I was startled by something unusual and thought it was a hidden trick left by that scoundrel Zhang Xuanye. Out of caution, I fled far away to observe it."
"But upon closer reflection afterwards..."
The Great Vehicle Immeasurable Bodhisattva gazed in the direction of the 'Crimson Origin Hall' with his pair of brilliant golden eyes:
"If it really is Zhang Xuanye, with his domineering nature, how could he not search the mountains and seas, destroy mountains and temples, just to regain his face?"
"Furthermore, although the aura of that Celestial Master's talisman was genuine, even momentarily intimidating me, it was extremely immature. It only stripped a portion of the Buddhist consciousness from my Crimson Origin Hall before fading away. It didn't seem like a true Celestial Master; it was more like..."
After much deliberation, he frowned and said:
"It seems more like the work of a newly appointed celestial master who is still learning how to use the power and has only acquired partial authority."
The eyes of the Mahayana Bodhisattva were deep and profound:
"This place is the Great Mystery, and it is utterly absurd that a Celestial Master was born here."
"but"
"As someone who has had a 'deeply memorable' encounter with the Heavenly Master's talisman, there is absolutely no way I could admit to being wrong."
"The revival of the Celestial Master's talisman is also related to the 'Vajra Pestle' of the World-Honored One, Cundi."
“These two matters are enough to warrant that I, the Bodhisattva, petition Mount Ling for a judgment.”
"As for the Crimson Origin Palace, we will hold off for now. However, the matter of the 'Flesh Body Abode' still needs your decision, Guan Hai."
"This Bodhisattva hopes that when I request the decree of Mount Ling or when the Buddhist army arrives, you can handle this matter properly."
"At that time, you will surely attain the status of a 'Bodhisattva'."
Upon hearing this, Guanhai Luohan clasped his hands together, lowered his head, and responded.
When the Bodhisattva's aura truly dissipated, it seemed as if he had used some wondrous method to try and pass through the now sieve-like 'boundary' to reach Mount Ling.
The Arhat raised his head, his expression complex.
What is the purpose of this petition to Lingshan?
If this Bodhisattva truly possessed even a tenth of the spirit and power he once had, he would probably have already stormed the Crimson Origin Palace, leaving no room for such a commotion.
Clearly, they were hesitant, unsure of the situation, and dared not act rashly.
Practice, practice.
If you lose your courage and determination, how can you climb higher?
Even if he were just an Arhat, one could see that this 'Great Vehicle Immeasurable Bodhisattva' had exhausted his spirit.
Even so, since he was the superior to whom he served, he naturally had to do his best to fulfill his orders.
Previously, that 'Ji Xiu' was indeed a superior body-shaping dwelling, and he offended the Great Vehicle Wuliang Temple, but he was unable to take action due to the influence of the Beicang Prince's Mansion.
plan for today
Then they would see when he left Cangdu, so that when he was invited to enter the Buddha's monastery and become a mummified monk, they could report back to that Bodhisattva.
at the same time.
