Chapter 361

Kal'tsit relaxed her shoulders slightly; clearly, Lin Lu had convinced her.

Lin Lu saw this and said, amused and annoyed, "You've been planning this for a while, haven't you?"

"It was just a test for you."

"Yes Yes Yes."

Lin Lu nodded perfunctorily and waved to Amiya.

"Doctor, you've worked hard."

Amiya skipped and hopped over to Lin Lu, her smile bright.

Lin Lu bent down and gently rubbed Amiya's head.

"Amiya, someone wants to see you."

"Eh?"

Under Amiya's astonished gaze, Lin Lu took Amiya's hand and placed it on his chest, on his heart.

"Please come in."

Kal'tsit's expression changed, and she exclaimed, "No!"

"It's alright, Kal'tsit, this is Theresa's wish."

A warm light gradually appeared on Lin Lu's chest; it was a gift he had brought back from the spiritual world.

Kal'tsit's outstretched hand froze. She pursed her lips and ultimately withdrew it.

Amiya felt a moment of dizziness, and warm light shone through her palm.

When she opened her eyes again, she found herself in Lin Lu's heart.

The bright moonlight shone on the tranquil lake, and Amiya's feet rippled across the surface.

A beautiful figure appeared before Amiya, and the tenderness in that person's eyes almost overwhelmed her.

"Miss Theresa..."

Amiya murmured as Theresa held her tightly.

"Amiya, please listen carefully. I'm going on a long journey. I'll bring back some gifts for you, okay? Before that, I hope you can make a promise with me."

"I, I promise you, but I don't want any gifts, I just want you back."

Amiya tugged at Theresa's clothes, and in that moment she seemed to transform back into the little girl she was three years ago, begging Theresa not to leave.

Theresa knelt on the ground to comfort Amiya, gently patting Amiya's back with her long, slender, fair hands.

"First, brush your teeth carefully before bed and say goodnight to the Doctor and Kal'tsit."

Second, after treating your friends well, you should never ask them for anything in return.

"Third, keep your appearance neat and tidy, and spend money on clothes."

Fourth, sometimes you have to pretend you don't understand and always stay calm when dealing with situations.

Fifth, don't be afraid to connect with people; embarrassing things are meant to be shared between each other.

"Sixth, you decide where your life goes, and you decide the value of your life. The choices are endless, and you can only trust yourself, but please become someone who can take full responsibility for your choices."

"Seventh, don't push yourself too hard; you have a long life ahead of you."

"8. Learn to love purely and correctly. What is correct is up to you to decide."

"Nine, don't think about getting everything; sometimes you have to know when to give up."

"10. If you say something that might hurt someone, please say it directly to their face."

"11. Don't easily show your tears; save them for after the battle is over."

"12. Watch more movies and read more books. Such a peaceful life won't last forever. Expose yourself to different values, learn various common sense, and then try your best to think about who you really are."

"Thirteen, many things are illogical, and you have to rely on your own values to support yourself."

"14. Always keep a smile on your face; a smile will make you stronger. But when you feel sad or in pain, cry it out in front of the most important person in your life."

"Fifteen, there is no need to be afraid or lonely, go and create the life that belongs to you."

Theresa's voice gradually faded, and her figure gradually dissipated, but her smile never changed.

"Amiya... I miss you so much... I love you."

“Miss Theresa!” Amiya cried and nodded, shouting, “I will do it, I will definitely do it, please come back! If you don’t come back, I will come looking for you.”

"One day, we will ensure that everyone on this land can sleep peacefully."

"This is a promise I make to you. I will not become the demon king of prophecy. I will become a king, a king of perfect benevolence and goodness!"

Amiya embraced Theresa's fading light and shadow, and she made a vow.

Just like she did back then.

Theresa hesitated and wavered.

She knew that Amiya was the best person to inherit her power, but she was unwilling to entrust the heavy wish of bringing hope to this suffering world to a child who was only eleven years old at the time.

Ultimately, Amiya made her choice; she accepted everything.

She was already aware of this.

"I believe you, Amiya."

Theresa's voice echoed in her ears.

Amiya opened her eyes again; she was back in reality.

Facing everyone's gaze, Amiya forcefully wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, her eyes red-rimmed, but her gaze was incredibly firm.

"Doctor, please lend me the Ark Driver."

"Amiya, you should know how to use it."

Lin Lu handed the Ark Driver to Amiya, along with the class card box.

Amiya took a deep breath, put the Ark Driver on her waist, and drew a card from her class card box.

"Supporter"

A light curtain enveloped Amiya, who had changed into an evening gown, and a violin appeared in her hands.

She wanted to play a song for those who were hurt on this land, and for those who still had hope for tomorrow.

Amiya gently rubbed the bow, tuned the strings, skillfully placed the violin on her shoulder, and played the first note.

The melodious sound of the zither echoed and reverberated, and the diamond-shaped black totem spread in all directions, carrying the sound far and wide.

Regardless of which side they were on, everyone was immersed in the music, feeling the peace of the war's end.

The setting sun gilded Amiya with a golden edge. She was completely absorbed, and the melodious music lingered in the desert.

Many truths will forever remain buried beneath the ruins of Chernobog, a land that has always been indifferent to all. But Rhodes Island will not forget. No matter the sacrifices made, Rhodes Island will never forget its original purpose. Rhodes Island's operators have never given their lives for any one person or any one event. Because Rhodes Island firmly believes that the future needs support.

Rhodes Island's path is destined to be fraught with hardship, but no matter what calamities may befall us in the future, no matter what gloom awaits us ahead, Rhodes Island will continue to move forward. Even if Rhodes Island ceases to exist one day, everything that Rhodes Island has done will leave its mark on the earth.

Amiya raised the strings high, pointing the bow towards the sky, the afterglow of the setting sun gathering in her palm.

— Rebuilding the future, the Ark sets sail.

Author's Closing Remarks + New Book Released!

Hi everyone who has supported me all this time, this is Wuyan Kule!

Hello to you who choose to read the author's commentary before deciding whether to read the main text. I am Silent Bitterness and Joy.

As a newbie who has only been on Hedgehog Cat for a year and a half, this is the first time I've written a review, and honestly, it feels amazing.

截止到2021年1月28号,书客1000均及以上最多2700本;其中完本的只有810本。

Now, I am honored to have this one more book.

The first chapter of this book was uploaded on April 27, 2020, and it was completed on February 20, 2021, during which time a total of 136 million words were written. In these ten months, except for taking a day off due to a strained arm, I never slacked off and never compromised on the quality of the updates.

Here, I would like to thank every reader who has followed this book. It is you who have given me the motivation to keep writing until the end. Thank you.

I actually considered abandoning this book back in July of last year.

I've always believed that hard work pays off and that effort will always yield results, but reality is often not what we expect.

This book was released at the end of June, with an initial order of 800.

I was determined to work even harder to update my content after it was published, and to write even better, aiming for over a thousand views per week. So, in July, I wrote like crazy, constantly checking the update rankings, hoping to surpass those authors. During that period, I basically suffered from severe insomnia every day; I would write as soon as I woke up and go to sleep as soon as it got dark. Adding to that, due to the pandemic, I hadn't had a job since quitting my job in March, and my savings were almost gone. I basically spent every night at 11 pm buying discounted bread from the bakery.

At the end of July, I discovered that I had disappeared from the update list.

I'm confused. I write 10,000 words a day, so why isn't my name mentioned?

I opened the author's backend and saw that the average subscriptions had dropped to over 400. It turns out that you need over 500 average subscriptions to be on the update ranking.

I fucking killed myself by writing so many chapters at once.

As for raising books, well, you can raise them, and if you raise them to death, so be it.

I see, I see.

I don't remember how I felt at the time, but now when I think back on it, my hands are trembling as I type.

My author friend, Brother Can, told me, "Give up, stop thinking about it. Go write Peach-themed stories, go write stories where the author pays out. That's how it is on BookKee. Look at other Arknights stories, can't you learn from them?"

"Making money is nothing to be ashamed of."

Shabby.

That's fucking shabby.

I remember the bread I ate back then was sour. I don't know if it was me who was sour, or if the bread was about to expire and had gone sour.

In August, just as I was about to put the book down, I received the first golden treasure chest from a reader of this book.

A tribute to the thorn fire.

My eternal Superman.
