Chapter 490

Wrath and Greed: The Second Mission Walkthrough

When Aoyagi Akimitsu learned about the skills of the other players, he felt helpless because his [Grand Lie] ability wasn't strong enough.

However, he doesn't like to complain. In the past three years, he has already mastered this weak skill. After returning to Japan, he basically sends his main body and clones out together for every operation.

This time is no exception.

After dropping off Conan Edogawa on Friday night, Aoyagi Akimitsu sent a message to Miwa Kazuya, asking his clone to temporarily disappear from the Nerima Ward apartment, and then went to bed early to recharge.

The next morning, his main body arrived at Beika and met up with the Mori family, and together they headed to Anchu City. Aoyagi Akimitsu did not summon his clone until he received a reply from Tani-sho at the inn.

He didn't use a clone, but that doesn't mean he was unaware of the situation elsewhere. He was constantly manipulating the mist particles from the rabbit to monitor several important locations.

There's not much to note in this remote area: a hospital, a base, Chairman Takeuchi, who has a marriage alliance with the Karasuma family, and two codenamed organization members.

The chairman and Ireland were in the hospital, while another member named Bilson was in the forest near the base. Aoyagi Akira had met the latter; he was Karasuma Mochizuki's bodyguard, and Goldwasser had contacted him.

Seeing that he was still some distance from the base, Aoyagi Binguang quickly sent a message to Gu Shao, asking her to make contact with him before Bilson returned to the base, so that they would have an extra pair of eyes in the upcoming operations.

After posting this message, Aoyagi Akimitsu followed Mouri Kogoro and the others to the hospital.

He hadn't originally planned to contact Ireland right now, but after the organization's people installed the bugs in such a clumsy way, he found it amusing and deliberately steered the conversation toward Pisco.

As expected, Ireland, who was eavesdropping, was furious. He had always regarded Pisco as a father figure.

Aoyagi Akimitsu didn't understand this kind of feeling; he had never experienced it before, but that didn't stop him from using it skillfully.

At the hospital, the four separated, with Aoyagi Akimitsu leaving Edogawa Conan to wait outside the ward.

He did it on purpose. On the surface, he wanted Conan Edogawa to check the messages and find out that they were being eavesdropped on, but in reality, he wanted to observe whether Conan would encounter any special, unexpected beings when he acted alone.

The sooner he bumps into it, the sooner they can resolve the issue.

Given that Conan Edogawa himself is the most special one, Aoyagi Akimitsu retrieved the portion of the mist particles from the surveillance base and attached them to his body.

The kid was lucky; he didn't run into any of the organization members inside the hospital. Those people didn't follow him when they saw him wandering around the hospital alone. In the end, he met Takeuchi Kazuki at the hospital entrance.

Aoyagi Akimitsu was going to expose the Karasuma family, so naturally he wouldn't let go of the Takeuchi family, who also supported the organization. He had detailed information on each member of the family. He knew about the boy's past.

He didn't rush to find the two teenagers who were pretending to have a heart-to-heart talk but were actually digging for information on their own. Instead, he calmly went about his pretense, asking several American tourists about the events of the day the disappearance occurred.

Aoyagi Akimitsu was indeed not good at reasoning, but he had handled and reviewed many cases in the FBI over the years. Based on their accounts and the information that Fog Particles had gathered a few days earlier, he could basically deduce what those two unlucky guys had gone through.

The male tourist, who had long silver hair similar to Gin's, was mistakenly killed by the Irishman; the exchange student with a sprained ankle was also killed when he bumped into Nagano police officers making a deal nearby while treating his wound.

Aoyagi Akimitsu walked out of the ward, pondering how to write the report. Just then, Tani Shō sent him a message.

[Greed: I've already encountered Bjergsen.]

[Furious: You've worked hard. Where are you now? Still in Gunma?]

[Greed: No, I have to go back to Nagano. I'll meet you later.]

[Greed: On the way back, I saw a police car. They had already left the apartment, and their next stop was most likely the hospital.]

Looking at these words, Aoyagi Akimitsu thought to himself that it wouldn't matter if he didn't come tonight; the envoy who replaced Rum could be dealt with later.

But he knew Gu Shao wouldn't agree. She wouldn't entrust him with something as important as replacing the second-in-command and stealing the organization's confidential information alone. With the police arriving at any moment, Aoyagi Akimitsu finally used his clone ability. His main body went to find Edogawa Conan, while the clone remained at the hospital.

The hospital was crowded and noisy, so it wasn't convenient for his clone to use his original appearance. He thought for a moment, then dragged away a low-level member of the organization who worked in the hospital's logistics department and was similar in build to himself. He stripped him of his clothes, took his appearance, stole his phone, and then disposed of the body.

Anyone who frequently commits murder or reads murder reports knows that killing is easy but disposing of a body is difficult. Fortunately, this is a hospital, so making someone disappear forever is relatively easy.

After disposing of the body, Aoyagi Akimitsu discovered through the mist particles—which he had given to his clone—that his main body had returned with Edogawa Conan. The two headed straight for the archives upstairs, and soon after, the two police officers' car arrived at the door.

The policeman named Ishigami was the first to enter, and Aoyagi Akihiro knocked him unconscious in the emergency exit.

He desperately wanted to kill the policeman, but couldn't. He looked down at him, then suddenly remembered something. He gently stroked his ring and reopened the temporary group chat.

[Furious: The oath left by the rabbit was, 'Unless one's life is threatened, one must not intentionally harm or kill Red Team personnel or their relatives.' That should be correct, right?]

【greedy:……】

[Greed: What are you going to do?]

Aoyagi Akimitsu looked down at the middle-aged policeman at his feet, and as he looked at that serious and rigid face that was disgusting, he suddenly smiled.

[Furious: If the Red Team tries to kill me and threatens my life, am I allowed to retaliate?]

Two years ago, Aoyagi Akimitsu conducted an experiment to determine whether he could intentionally harm the red team. He confirmed that as long as he personally inflicted the injury, even a minor one, it would cause pain.

But the rabbit was kind after all, and added special circumstances to the oath, so it didn't completely restrict the person.

[Furious: My identity hasn't been exposed yet, but you, you've been dealing with the Red Team as an enemy all the time, haven't you? Have you tried it?]

Greed: No.

Greed: I usually try to avoid it.

[Furious: Then do me a favor.]

[Furious: Please cause some trouble at the Nagano Prefectural Police Headquarters and alert the Public Security Bureau there.]

[Greed: What are you going to do now?]

Aoyagi Akimitsu could tell her dissatisfaction from the word "again".

He didn't care at all, and while injecting anesthesia into the policeman at his feet and tying him up, he slowly typed.

[Outrage: There are several corrupt police officers in the Nagano Prefectural Police Department, one of whom recently killed a foreign student. The student was wearing identification when the incident occurred, so they should have already known he was American, which may have attracted the attention of the police liaison officer stationed in Japan.]

[Outrage: Most people who commit serious crimes feel guilty and worry about being exposed at the slightest sound. Since the police never reveal their activities to regular officers, these people will definitely get nervous when they see the police making a move…]

People are more prone to making mistakes when they are nervous.
