The Two Brothers Who Were Kicked Out

Chapter 62 The Two Brothers Who Were Kicked Out

"Mr. Masamune, do you have children?"

In a remote town in rural Japan, atop a mountain, a man dressed like an office worker sits side-by-side with a boy of about sixteen or seventeen years old in a tent.

They were waiting for the sunrise, with less than an hour left before the sun rose, but the starry sky was still spinning overhead.

The man had just been telling the boy about the constellations in the sky and was now quietly admiring the stars when he heard the boy's question. He was clearly taken aback.

The man gave a helpless smile, scratched his head, and said, "Finding a woman to have a child is just too difficult for me. I'm interested in adopting a child, though. If we go to Tokyo, would you and your daughter be willing?"

Yuan Zhisheng was somewhat disappointed upon hearing this answer.

Because he always believed that this man who called himself Tachibana Masamune was his and Minamoto no Wakana's biological father.

If he wasn't his biological father, why would a city office worker be so patient with a boy from the mountains?

Over the years, Tachibana Masashi taught him yoga, swordsmanship, told him stories about the outside world, took him to the mountaintop to watch the sunrise, and brought him iced cola.

If he weren't his biological father, Genji would have no reason to do this.

But now he is disappointed.

He did not answer whether he wanted to be adopted, and Tachibana Masamune did not ask again.

Their conversations were always like this: no sentimental chatter, no repeated questioning; once you said something and I received it, it was over, like a nail driven into wood.

In fact, Genjiro didn't dislike Tachibana Masamune. He and Genjiro were adopted sons of a family in the town. Their adoptive father was an ordinary mountain man who didn't like them at all and would cause trouble for them every time he got drunk.

If I could go to Tokyo with Masamune Tachibana, life would probably be much better than it is now.

But Genjiro still wanted to wait for his biological father, especially since he had recently heard some bad rumors.

Many people in town say that Tachibana Masamune is involved in the yakuza. Genji didn't believe it at first, until he saw the tattoo on Tachibana Masamune's wrist.

Genjiro is a boy with a strong sense of justice. He despises the evil gangsters and even feels a bit of aversion towards Tachibana Masamune.

So he was reluctant to go to Tokyo with him.

Tachibana Masamune didn't care what the boy was thinking. He watched the sunrise as usual, then parted ways as usual, and finally gave the boy a small gift as usual.

But this time, before going home, Genji threw the beautifully wrapped gift into the trash.

He felt he should think carefully about how to get along with Tachibana Masamune in the future.

Before he could even think about it, he suddenly heard a commotion coming from his adoptive father's house. It sounded like a bunch of people were arguing, and he could vaguely hear a boy crying in the background.

"A young girl?!"

Yuan Zhisheng's eyes widened suddenly, and he quickly pushed open the door and rushed inside.

Then he saw that the dilapidated courtyard was full of people, pointing and gesturing at the boy in the center of the courtyard, and his always drunk foster father was cursing loudly.

"Yuan Zhinü, how dare you! You've even learned to fight now, haven't you? You actually broke all these children's hands! Are you insane?!"

The accused, Yuan Zhinü, stood helplessly in the courtyard, her face covered in tears.

Upon seeing this, Yuan Zhisheng felt a surge of nameless anger rising in his heart. He rushed over and shielded his younger brother behind him.

"What are you doing?!" he shouted angrily. "So many of you bullying a child, have you no shame?"

Upon seeing him appear, Genjiro instantly clung to him like a lifeline, grabbing Genjiro's arm and crying out, "Brother!"

Yuan Zhisheng patted his cold hand to comfort him, then turned to look at his adoptive father with an unfriendly gaze.

As if provoked by his gaze, the adoptive father's already raging anger flared up even more, and he roared, his face flushed and nose bulging, "Yuan Zhisheng, you dare to come back? Do you even know what your brother has done?!"

"He broke all the children's bones, and those children are still in the hospital!"

The adoptive father was spitting and pointing wildly in anger, while the people around him also had unfriendly expressions, as if the whole world was attacking the frail boy.

Genjiro trembled with fear and could only hold tightly to Genjiro's hand, as if a drowning person had grasped at the last straw.

Genjiro was stunned by what he heard, and an expression of disbelief appeared on his face.

Yuan Zhinü, did you break the bones of these people's children?

How is that possible?

This small town in the countryside isn't very big, and most people here know each other.

Since Yuan Zhisheng was mostly classmates with their children, he naturally knew that these bad boys often caused trouble for Yuan Zhinu.

He had even personally chased them away once, knowing that their fighting strength was definitely not weak, and how could Genjiro, who was so weak and had so little strength, break their child's bones?

Seeing that Genji looked blank, Genji explained in a low voice, "Yesterday they cornered me at the shrine and wouldn't let me leave. A girl from the city saw this and chased them away, but she might have been a little too rough—"

Upon hearing this, Genjiro first realized that his younger brother certainly didn't possess that kind of fighting ability.

Then, the next thing I realized was that I was angry.

"You still have the nerve to cause trouble for my brother? Wasn't it your children who bullied him first?"

He shouted, "And it was that girl from the city who hit your child! What right do you have to hold my brother responsible?"

After being told that by Genjiro, the parents of those children immediately felt embarrassed.

Don't they know that it was that brat from the city who beat their child?

The problem is, that girl is clearly a tough character. Not only is she from the city, but she can break bones with one punch, and she drives a Ferrari. She's definitely not someone the villagers can mess with.

Everyone understands the principle of picking the softest persimmon, and Genjiro was undoubtedly that soft persimmon.

Seeing that Yuan Zhisheng's explanation was ineffective, these parents turned their anger towards their adoptive father, demanding an explanation from him.

Their adoptive father, who disliked them to begin with, rushed back into the house upon seeing this, threw out a large package, and said to the people, "From today onwards, Yuan Zhinü is no longer my adopted daughter. If you want an explanation, go find him yourself!"

After saying that, he looked at Yuan Zhisheng and said viciously, "If you continue to speak up for this beast, then you can get out with him and never come back!"

"I'm definitely not going to pay your medical bills!"

After saying that, he immediately slammed the door shut, his movements swift and decisive, as if afraid that if he hesitated even a little longer, trouble would come knocking.

As Yuan Zhinu looked at the things that had been thrown out, tears fell again. Seeing this, Yuan Zhisheng gritted his teeth and said, "Fine, let's go! Don't worry, Zhinu, I won't abandon you."
