Chapter 4
The Supreme Elemental Beings
Xue Musheng glanced at the Awakening Stone again to confirm that he hadn't misread it.
The fire-type light did indeed emanate from the Awakening Stone in Mo Fan's hands.
Birds of a feather flock together.
Mo Fan's fire talent is even higher than Zhou Min's, making him the absolute number one fire mage in the entire school!
In addition, Mo Fan and Lin Mian had a good relationship. In Xue Musheng's view, people should associate with people of similar backgrounds.
"Mo Fan, you have good talent, keep up the good work!"
Xue Musheng rarely showed a smile to Mo Fan, who had transferred to the class.
"Fire is a very practical elemental element. Although it can't compare to lightning or summoning, you should still train hard. You'll definitely become an excellent mage in the future!"
Mo Fan's lips twitched upon hearing this.
What do you mean by "can't compare to lightning and summoning"...?
No, Lin Mian is a monster, and Mika is definitely not as good as him right now.
But Mo Fan was born with dual elemental abilities; he wasn't just a simple fire mage.
It's incredibly versatile!
Thinking of this, Mo Fan quickly stepped off the stage and headed straight for Lin Mian.
He put his arm around Lin Mian's shoulder and whispered, "Old Mian, you didn't see anything, right?"
Lin Mian raised an eyebrow, looking at him with a half-smile: "What did you see? The Awakening Stone flashing purple light first and then red light?"
Mo Fan's face stiffened.
"Or perhaps you've actually awakened two systems?"
Mo Fan's face stiffened even more, as if someone had grabbed his neck.
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. I was just teasing you."
Lin Mian patted him on the shoulder, "But you have to treat me to a meal."
Mo Fan let out a long breath, almost collapsing to the ground: "Eat! We absolutely have to eat! The best restaurant in Bocheng, order whatever you want!"
"Barbecue, beer, crayfish—we've got it all covered!"
Lin Mian chuckled: "Then I won't stand on ceremony."
Mo Fan breathed a sigh of relief; thankfully, Lin Mian didn't ask for an exorbitant amount.
In fact, it was much more reassuring for Lin Mian to know his secret than for others to discover it.
Firstly, Lin Mian is exceptionally intelligent and knows how to weigh the pros and cons.
Secondly, the two grew up together, practically inseparable, so their friendship is undeniable.
Finally, after discovering that Lin Mian's summoned creature was Xiaomi, Mo Fan was convinced that Lin Mian must be a transmigrator like himself.
This is called the bond between fellow villagers, but Lin Mian doesn't acknowledge it.
"Brother Mian! Brother Fan! What are you whispering about?"
Zhang Xiaohou suddenly appeared out of nowhere, his dark face filled with curiosity.
"It's nothing. Mo Fan said he's very happy about awakening his fire element and wants to treat us to dinner," Lin Mian said without changing his expression.
Zhang Xiaohou's eyes lit up: "Really, Brother Fan?"
Mo Fan nodded.
"Great! I want to eat barbecue in the old town of Bocheng!"
Mo Fan's lips twitched as he silently calculated his meager allowance.
Oh well, I'm going to be a great mage anyway, what's a little money like this?
On the training field, the awakening ceremonies of each class came to an end one after another. Some were happy, while others were sad.
"Lin Mian".
A deep voice came from behind.
Lin Mian turned around and saw Principal Zhu walking towards him.
"Lin Mian, come to my office for a moment, I have something to say to you," Principal Zhu continued.
"Yes," Lin Mian replied neither humbly nor arrogantly, and then left with Principal Zhu under the watchful eyes of Mo Fan and Zhang Xiaohou.
"Brother Fan, did Brother Mian go to the office because he blinded Zhao Kunsan, and Principal Zhu is going to punish him?" Zhang Xiaohou asked with concern.
"Hey, don't worry. Old Mian was recruited by Principal Zhu at a high price; he's the face of Tianlan Magic High School. If anything happens to us onlookers, Old Mian will be fine." Mo Fan waved his hand.
"Fan is right. Shall we sneak out for barbecue after evening self-study tonight?" Zhang Xiaohou asked.
"Climb out when Lao Mian gets back, it's on me!"
"Long live Brother Fan!"
……
Lin Mian followed Principal Zhu through the corridor of the teaching building, attracting the attention of many students and teachers along the way.
Principal Zhu's office is on the third floor of the administration building. As you push open the door, a faint aroma of tea wafts out.
The office wasn't large, but it was tastefully decorated. Several old photos of Bo City hung on the wall, and various magic-related books were neatly arranged on the bookshelves.
"Have a seat." Principal Zhu pointed to the chair opposite the desk and went around to sit down behind the desk.
Lin Mian didn't stand on ceremony and sat down without hesitation.
Mika jumped off his shoulder, circled the table curiously twice, then squatted down to the side, tilting her head to examine Principal Zhu.
Principal Zhu looked at the little thing and a smile appeared on his face.
"Lin Mian, do you know why I called you here?"
"It shouldn't be because of the fact that I caused Zhao Kunsan to temporarily lose his sight," Lin Mian said calmly.
Principal Zhu was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter, the sound echoing in the office.
"You're quite the straightforward kid."
He suppressed his smile and said seriously, "I have already looked into the matter of Zhao Kunsan. He provoked first, and your summoned creature's counterattack was a legitimate act of self-defense."
"Besides, you said yourself that it will recover in half a day, it's nothing serious. Consider it a lesson for Zhao Kunsan."
Principal Zhu picked up his teacup, took a sip, and continued, "I called you here because I wanted to see your summoned creatures."
Lin Mian raised an eyebrow slightly but did not reply.
Principal Zhu put down his teacup, his gaze falling on Mika, his expression turning serious:
"There are only a handful of self-awakened summoners in the entire country. The fact that you can do this shows that your magical talent far surpasses that of ordinary people."
He paused and continued, "However, the key to the summoning system lies in the bloodline and level of the summoned creatures."
"If a summoning mage summons a low-level, juvenile creature, its combat power is even less than that of an adult male."
Why did Zhao Kunsan pick a fight today?
It was because he mistook Lin Mian's summoned beast for a low-level creature with low bloodline and still in its infancy.
In addition, the summoned beasts are too unpredictable, and it would be terrible if they died in the summoning plane.
Therefore, most summoners are willing to spend a lot of resources to train their contracted beasts at the intermediate level.
After Principal Zhu finished speaking, he carefully examined Mika.
Despite his years of teaching experience, he still couldn't tell which kind of creature Mika was from the records; he could only sense a strong aura of light element emanating from it.
"I can sense a very strong light element emanating from you, little one. Could you let me take a closer look?" Principal Zhu said.
Lin Mian glanced at Mika, who blinked, seemingly not resistant.
"Can."
Principal Zhu hovered his palm about ten centimeters above Mika and carefully felt it.
At first, Principal Zhu's expression was relatively calm.
A moment later, his brows furrowed slightly.
A few seconds later, his pupils suddenly contracted, he abruptly pulled his hand back, and leaned back in his chair, as if he had been shocked by something.
"This...this is..." Principal Zhu's voice trembled slightly.
"Principal, what's wrong?" Lin Mian asked knowingly.
Principal Zhu took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, and the look in his eyes as he stared at Mika had completely changed.
It was no longer curiosity, but an expression of near awe.
"The light element is incredibly concentrated..." he murmured, "These are light-elemental beings!"
Principal Zhu was greatly shocked.
A student actually summoned the elemental creatures that countless summoning mages dream of!
