Chapter 17
Filled with Tears
He knew his eyes were already brimming with tears.
"I'll go wash up first."
To avoid appearing too flustered, he lowered his head, grabbed his toiletries, and rushed out.
Little did they know that his voice trembled noticeably as he spoke.
Zhao Yuheng scratched the back of his head in confusion.
Why is Jinbao'er's voice still so hoarse?
It seems I need to buy him some more medicine, and give him several more packets.
Zhao Yuheng hadn't really taken care of anyone else much; he learned all of that from his father.
If his mother catches a slight cold, he doesn't have to cook, bring her water, or walk; she's instantly elevated to the level of "Grand Empress Dowager."
He's usually mischievous and gets into trouble, but he can still talk back to his mom.
But whenever his mother gets sick, his father can just pick up a stick and beat him.
Zhao Yuheng sometimes felt that his father was just a love-obsessed person.
When I go on a business trip, my mom at home has to send me a message every two hours.
My mother likes to grow flowers, and my father likes to raise fish, but he insists on combining the two. He raises fish and flowers at the same time.
The two dated almost every day, and occasionally she would forget to pick him up from school.
However, whenever he forgets something, I always take him to an amusement park to make up for it.
He subconsciously felt that his mother was the most important person to his father, and he could only be second.
But he was never jealous, because his mother and father were his closest relatives.
So the skills of taking care of people were all learned from my father when I was a child.
In the laundry room, Jin Bao'er brushed his teeth, reminiscing about everything Zhao Yuheng had done for him.
My heart ached with a bitter taste.
Why does this awful straight man treat me so well?
I paid for his ride only because he was handsome; I wasn't that noble at all.
If the person opposite him were an ordinary person, he wouldn't even give them a second glance.
How could someone like me be worthy of Zhao Yuheng's kindness?
Jinbao found himself increasingly unable to control his emotions.
Zhao Yuheng went to play basketball and played for the whole afternoon. He didn't reply to my messages, and I felt inexplicably uneasy.
I heard that Zhao Yuheng's good friend was going to treat him to dinner. Even though the other party specifically said that he was going out, he still felt sad because he had no one to eat with.
Sometimes, Zhao Yuheng's buddies would gather around him with their arms around each other's shoulders, and as he watched the lively scene, he felt a tightness in his chest.
During class, Zhao Yuheng's friends came over to play games together, completely ignoring him.
Jin Bao'er stared at the book, her fingertips almost piercing the pages, but she could only grit her teeth and hold back her anger.
He didn't want to lose his composure like he had with Yang Hui last time.
These things weighed on his heart like stones, making it impossible for him to concentrate on his studies.
But he couldn't blame Zhao Yuheng; the man was just playing with his brothers and hadn't bothered anyone.
In the end, he could only confide in his best friend Hu Xiaowen, and the two sat on the bleachers of the playground enjoying the evening breeze.
"Hey, Jinbao'er, I advise you to stop now. You're already in too deep," Hu Xiaowen sighed.
"what?"
Jin Bao'er was stunned.
"You're clearly jealous."
Hu Xiaowen looked like he understood.
"Someone likes men like you, so you're jealous not only of women but also of men. Wouldn't that be incredibly sour?"
Jin Bao'er did not deny it.
Yes, he couldn't stand seeing Zhao Yuheng with his arm around someone else.
They couldn't stand seeing Zhao Yuheng playing games during class.
He couldn't stand anyone taking "his Heng Ge" away from him.
"Stop now. If this continues, you'll be exposed sooner or later. What will your brother Heng do then?"
Hu Xiaowen's tone became sharp.
"You said he's a homophobic straight man. If he finds out his best friend likes him, what do you think he'll do? Will he still be a good friend like this?"
"Would he disregard everything and become your brother?"
"Or do you think that because he's good to you, you can recklessly 'turn him gay'?"
"Don't overestimate yourself. Even married couples sometimes go their separate ways when disaster strikes. They still have their marriage certificate as a guarantee. What about you?"
"What obligation does he have to be responsible for your feelings? Just because of how good he is to you?"
In order to prevent Jinbao from getting any deeper into trouble, Hu Xiaowen had to be sharp in his words.
"But,……"
"No buts, I admit Zhao Yuheng is a good brother, even a good man, but he would never be the kind of person who likes to pull strings!"
Hu Xiaowen's words were extremely harsh.
But it is also very accurate.
Jin Bao'er was unwilling to give up, and a glimmer of hope remained in her heart.
He must treat himself differently, right?
At least in the dormitory, Zhao Yuheng treated him more specially than the eldest and second eldest brothers.
……
That day, Jinbao and Zhao Yuheng had lunch together. As usual, Zhao Yuheng simply picked up a chicken leg and put it on his plate, his actions so natural that there was no excuse.
Jin Bao'er looked down at the braised chicken leg on her plate, then suddenly looked up at Zhao Yuheng, who was engrossed in eating, and asked seriously, "Brother Heng, why do you hate homosexuals?"
Zhao Yuheng swallowed the food in his mouth and looked at him with a puzzled expression.
Jin Bao'er waited patiently, and saw him put down his chopsticks, his face gradually darkening.
"What else could it be? When I was in my third year of junior high, I was taking the subway home, and I was so tired that I fell asleep. A bald, slovenly man was doing something to me..." (Use your imagination).
Before he could finish speaking, Zhao Yuheng suddenly covered his mouth, stood up abruptly, and rushed toward the trash can.
He lay down on the side and vomited violently, making physiological nausea sounds in his throat.
Jin Bao'er sat there in shock, feeling both angry and anxious.
That damned bastard, how dare he desecrate his Heng-ge like that!
No wonder Heng-ge has such a strong opinion against homosexuality...
Watching Zhao Yuheng's distressed figure, Jin Bao'er clenched her chopsticks tightly, her nails digging deep into her palms.
This can't go on any longer.
He made a firm decision in his heart.
