Chapter 39
Infiltrating the Wolf Guild
Lin Hui took it and saw that it was an electronic device similar to a mobile phone, with a screen of about 15 inches and two small buttons, one red and one green.
"What is this?" Lin Hui asked.
"This is the Wolf Guild's internal communication device! I've cracked their communication frequency and device password!"
Su Qingqian's face was full of excitement. As someone with expertise in [equipment], cracking such a simple encrypted channel was a piece of cake for her.
She handed the communicator to Lin Hui, while simultaneously projecting the deciphered interface onto the RV's central control screen.
On the screen was a radar-like display interface with distance markings and a dozen or so red dots flashing on it. The closest one was about fifty kilometers away.
Su Qingqian explained, "Each red dot represents a convoy of the Evil Wolf Guild."
After she finished speaking, she pressed the red button on the communicator. After a few beeps, several voices came from it.
It's not very clear, but you can still tell the difference.
[Voice A: Seventh Brother, still not done? The other side is just a small convoy!]
[Voice B: Boss Yu said we absolutely must get the Lv5 upgrade blueprint this time!!]
[Voice A: Useless Seventh Brother, you didn't get killed by those weaklings, did you?]
[C's voice: Hehe... Just raided a survivor convoy. Those idiots tried to fight back, but I burned them all to death. Plenty of supplies, and two bottles of good wine. Time to split them up back home!]
[D's voice: I just encountered a lone "Rose Society" convoy. I'm going to give it a shot. If I succeed, buddy, you're in for a treat tonight...]
【...】
ziz......
[Voice B: Seventh Brother, did you hear me? Reply!]
[B's voice: Something's wrong. Old Seven's location red dot hasn't moved for over ten minutes. I tried contacting him using the "Survival Game" system, but he hasn't replied! Something's probably happened. Third Brother, you're closer to Old Seven, go check on him!]
[C's voice: I'm coming right away!]
[B's voice: Be careful!! Leave a message on the communicator immediately if you get any news!!]
[C's voice: Okay!]
The voice recording ended.
Lin Hui looked up at the central control screen. The red dot that was closest to him had dropped from fifty kilometers to only forty kilometers.
And it's been getting closer!
"They're coming for us."
Liu Xi walked over, looked at the screen, and frowned slightly.
"At their speed, they should be here in twenty minutes!"
She looked at Lin Hui, "Should we avoid this?"
"Should we ambush them here?"
Lin Hui stroked his chin, not answering Liu Xi's question, but instead looking at Su Qingqian, "Can you block the location of this communicator?"
Liu Xi immediately realized what Lin Hui was planning to do and looked at Su Qingqian as well.
Su Qingqian thought for a moment and said:
"This communicator should contain a locator or location tracking software. Removing it should enable this function."
Lin Hui nodded and said, "Try it right away, the sooner the better! Ideally, you should be able to get it done within 15 minutes!"
"Hmm!" Su Qingqian immediately took out the repair kit, took out the tools, and carefully disassembled the communicator.
When she awakened her specialization in [equipment], her mind was filled with a wealth of knowledge related to equipment.
This transformed her from a complete novice in mechanics into a mechanical master, proficient in machines from various fields.
Su Qingqian's movements were quick and precise. Although she had never been exposed to the internal structure before, she knew its function and principle at a glance.
Watching Su Qingqian's artful movements, Lin Hui deeply felt the wonder of specialization.
Moreover, Su Qingqian is only at level 1. If her rank increases, it will surely bring him even more surprises.
In less than fifteen minutes, Su Qingqian had already closed the communicator again and said, "It contains both a locator and software tracking, which I have already removed."
"Now, to other players who have the communicator, it appears to have been destroyed."
"Well done!" Lin Hui exclaimed excitedly. "Ignore these members of the Wolf Guild for now, let's get out of here immediately!"
If they ambushed them on the spot, Lin Hui's strength would make wiping out the entire enemy squad no problem.
But he's planning a sustainable approach; the players in the Wolf Guild are so wealthy, it would be a waste not to use them to replenish their own supplies.
Once they have tracked down the Wolf Guild's caravan, they'll be treated like livestock!
Whenever you're hungry, you can go up and take a bite!
Five minutes after Lin Hui's RV left, a convoy of more than a dozen vehicles came aggressively!
A man in his thirties with a buzz cut and a goatee stepped out of the lead Lv4 vehicle, his indifferent gaze slowly sweeping over the surroundings.
The place was a scorched wasteland; all the vehicles had vanished, and the corpses of the Wolf Guild members lay scattered on the ground.
When the goatee-wearing man saw the man in the leather jacket lying dead, his gaze turned icy: "What a piece of trash! You couldn't even handle something this simple!!"
He first picked up the communicator and glanced at it, only to find that the red dot belonging to the man in the leather jacket had disappeared.
The goatee-wearing man then pressed the green button and posted a message:
"Second Brother, Seventh Brother is dead. The stuff must have been stolen."
Soon, after the hissing sound subsided, a deep voice rang out: "Just as I thought! That small convoy was definitely no match for Old Seven. Old Seven must have encountered other players. Whoever killed Old Seven must be no ordinary player; they might be from another major guild."
"I'll chase after them now and see if I can find the killer," the goatee-bearded man replied.
The voice continued, "Don't pursue too deeply. Report any incidents immediately. Even if the Overlord Alliance steals something from my Wolf Guild, they'll make them return it."
"Everyone else, keep an eye out and see if there are any suspicious convoys!"
"good!"
"good!"
Several more voices rang out.
"Third brother, if we haven't found the target in three hours, retreat. The guild leader wants us to get to the outskirts of Fu City as soon as possible; the guild has a big plan, don't be late!"
"I understand!" The goatee-bearded man put away his communicator, then glanced in the direction he was heading and ordered the convoy to give chase.
……
at the same time.
A huge black RV sped along the endless highway.
Inside the RV, Lin Hui had just finished listening to the conversation between the goatee-bearded man and another member of the Wolf Guild.
"A big plan?" He pondered these three words, wondering what the Wolf Guild was planning to do.
"Boss, that convoy seems to be going the wrong way and is getting further and further away from us. Should we chase after them?" Su Qingqian, who was in the passenger seat, suddenly spoke up. She kept her eyes on the central control screen.
Lin Hui turned his head slightly, looking at Su Qingqian with a slightly surprised expression: "Your courage has improved quite a bit, actually suggesting that you take the initiative to pursue the enemy..."
A faint blush instantly spread across Su Qingqian's cheeks. She lowered her head and said in a slightly softer voice, "Well... I only dared to think that way because the boss is here..."
Seeing this, Lin Hui couldn't help but smile.
"We definitely need to chase them, but not by directly engaging them in a direct confrontation. We can use a different tactic."
"What tactics should we switch to?" Su Qingqian blinked her beautiful eyes.
