Chapter 51
You say my acting is bad?
After holding Miss Liu in Linyu for ten minutes, he finally reluctantly let her go.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" Miss Liu asked weakly, looking into Lin Yu's unwavering eyes.
"Little guy, wait for me a moment." Lin Yu thought for a moment.
After saying that, she ran to the driver and asked him to bring the car over.
"Xixi, get in the car!" Lin Yu, who was sitting in the car, opened the door and called out to Liu Yifei:
"Where to?" Without saying a word, Miss Liu sat down next to Lin Yu and closed the car door.
"Airport!"
"Huh? You're going to take me home?" Miss Liu asked, looking unhappy.
"No, I'm going back with you."
Upon hearing this, Miss Liu immediately became happy, "Really?"
"Really." Lin Yu nodded with a smile.
But before the car had gone far, Ms. Liu's face fell again.
"What are you going to do about your film crew?"
"Hehe... I sent a message to the person in charge over there. We're off today and tomorrow, so we won't be filming." Lin Yu smiled as he put his arm around Miss Liu.
"Wouldn't that just be causing you more trouble?"
"It's no trouble at all. I'm happier than ever to have you come see me. It's a movie! We can shoot anytime, a little extra time won't make a difference."
"Hehe...that's great, senior brother."
"Silly boy, don't do that again next time."
"I was just trying to avoid causing you trouble, but you... hehe, next time I'll tell you in advance."
The journey to the airport wasn't short, but it wasn't long either. Amidst Lin Yu and Liu Yifei's laughter and conversation, they quickly arrived at their destination.
After seeing the driver off, Lin Yu and Ms. Liu bought plane tickets back to Los Angeles. Lin Yu checked the flight departure time and thought that he should be able to get Ms. Liu home before dinner.
Before long, Lin Yu noticed that Ms. Liu, who had boarded the plane with him, was starting to droop her eyelids, which made him feel very sorry for her.
This little guy must have just gotten home and hadn't even had a proper rest before coming out to look for me.
Lin Yu watched as Miss Liu slowly fell asleep, then took off his coat and covered her with it, quietly watching her sleeping face.
It must be said that even in her sleep, Ms. Liu maintained her nobility and beauty. Her profile was perfectly smooth, like a work of art. Looking at her sleeping with her head turned to the side was like a vivid painting, so beautiful that it was mesmerizing.
"As expected of a girl who lives up to her adjectives, she is breathtakingly beautiful even when she is sleeping."
Fortunately, Lin Yu had the foresight not to waste time with Miss Liu in New York. Even so, by the time Lin Yu took Miss Liu home, it was already dark.
Faced with Liu Xiaoli's verbal attacks, Miss Liu didn't care. She just kept nodding and promising that she wouldn't come back so late next time.
Looking at Liu Yifei's well-behaved appearance, Liu Xiaoli couldn't bear to continue nagging.
"Oh, my poor Xixi, she must have been cooped up in China. She's having so much fun as soon as she's abroad. Maybe... we should come here every now and then? Let this girl relax more often." Liu Xiaoli silently made a decision.
Miss Liu had no idea what Liu Xiaoli was thinking. All she knew was that Lin Yu was nearby and that she could go out with him for a day tomorrow.
So, Ms. Liu was so happy that her appetite increased, and she even ate half a bowl more rice. This situation made Liu Xiaoli feel that her guess was correct, which further strengthened her idea of often taking Ms. Liu abroad to relax.
The moon was bright and the stars were few tonight. Ms. Liu, tired from her journey, didn't chat with Lin Yu for as long as usual, but went to bed early.
The next day, feeling refreshed, Ms. Liu was already thinking about going out without even having breakfast.
As a result, Liu's mother pulled her back and criticized her for a full five minutes before Liu reluctantly ate two bites.
"Xixi, don't stay out so late today, come back early!" Liu Xiaoli called out to her daughter, Liu, who was eager to leave.
"understood."
Lin Yu was already waiting near Miss Liu's house. Seeing Miss Liu cheering and jumping towards him, Lin Yu smiled knowingly.
"Sissi, did your auntie find out?"
"Hehe...of course not. My mom thinks I'm going crazy from being cooped up in China, so I came here to let loose."
"Hehe... Auntie is right. If I were in Auntie's shoes, I would probably think the same way."
"That's the right way to think. Come on, I'll take you to have some fun. This is my territory now."
As Liu Yifei spoke, she grabbed Lin Yu's arm and pulled him forward.
On this day, Lin Yu seemed to get to know Miss Liu all over again.
When Liu Yifei gets into a crazy, playful mood, she doesn't resemble the ethereal fairy sister at all.
And her little mouth kept purring, constantly telling Lin Yu the jokes she encountered while filming on various film sets. Lin Yu would chime in from time to time, and then add a few stories from her own filming experiences.
They ate at several restaurants, visited several shopping malls, walked through more than a dozen streets, and saw all sorts of foreign landscapes.
It has to be said that there wasn't much low-end stuff around where Miss Liu lived. After a day of playing around, she almost emptied Lin Yu's pockets.
The last two sat together on a row of benches, watching the sunset.
"Senior, when will you finish filming your movie?"
"Before your birthday."
"Hehe... I knew you'd remember."
"How could I forget? After her birthday this year, our Miss Liu will have grown up."
"Then you'd better prepare a nice gift. I have very high standards; I don't like ordinary things!" Miss Liu said, blinking her big eyes.
"Hmm... this is a big deal, I need to think about it carefully." Lin Yu nodded, pretending to be serious.
"Hehe... But senior brother, I'm going to start learning to sing soon. My mom and godfather have contacted Sony and they want to make a record for me."
"When?" Lin Yu was slightly taken aback.
"On my birthday, I heard that my mother had already made arrangements with them, and after my birthday... I might be going to Japan," Ms. Liu said sadly.
"Why does it have to be an island nation? Can't we just stay in our own country?"
"My mother said I should look up to international superstars, or at least to the four Heavenly Kings of Hong Kong, and dabble in film, television and music."
"Hehe... Auntie has such big ideas! But we can't say she's wrong. However, I still suggest you spend more time studying acting. You're already struggling to act in TV dramas, let alone movies."
"Why don't you just say my acting is bad? Why beat around the bush?" Ms. Liu said, somewhat disgruntled.
"That's not what I meant. What I meant was that if you really want to be a good actor, you need to work on your acting skills more. Your acting skills aren't up to par right now, unless you keep encountering roles that are perfect for you."
Liu Yifei: "??? Aren't you saying I have bad acting skills?"
