The last paragraph mentions the number of tails that the Tushan clan grows when they ascend to godhood. I suddenly realized today that I miscalculated. It's not that they grow a second tail when they advance to the third rank, but rather that they grow a second tail when they advance to the fifth rank, which corresponds to 9 tails for 12 ranks when they ascend to godhood.
