Chapter 1
: The Great Sword Immortal
A horse-drawn carriage was bumping along the dirt road, kicking up clouds of yellow dust as it rolled over the uneven surface.
Suddenly, the driver noticed a person lying motionless on the road ahead, unsure whether they were dead or alive.
The road is so narrow that if you want to get through, you're bound to run over something.
Unsure of the situation, he dared not proceed rashly and had no choice but to rein in his horse and stop.
At that moment, an impatient voice immediately came from inside the carriage.
"Why did we stop again? It's a waste of time. If we stay here for a few more days, our bodies will fall apart."
Hearing this, the driver did not get angry.
This carriage is full of people who will be participating in the Seven Mysteries Sect's assessment. If any of them become disciples of the sect in the future, it is definitely not something that a mere driver like him can offend.
The driver pointed ahead and said, "There's someone lying in the middle of the road, blocking the way."
The voice rang out again.
"Just flip it over to the side of the road."
No sooner had he finished speaking than a simple, honest voice chimed in, "Han Li, shall we go down and take a look?"
After a brief pause, another person responded softly.
"Um."
The curtain at the back of the carriage was lifted, and two boys, around eleven or twelve years old, jumped down.
The one in the lead was thin and dark-skinned, while the other, though shorter, was stocky and looked somewhat mature.
The two walked onto the road and, sure enough, saw a person lying in the middle of the dirt road ahead.
As they got closer, they discovered that the person didn't seem to be very old either, appearing to be around the same age as them.
However, his all-black attire was far better than the patched-up coarse linen clothes he was wearing.
The short, chubby, round-faced boy awkwardly squatted down and reached his hand below his nose.
"He's still breathing!"
he shouted.
Han Li nodded slightly, then carefully examined the object.
He discovered that the man's body and limbs had pressed a shallow pit into the dirt road.
It doesn't look like a fall.
Han Li immediately raised his gaze, looking up at the sky with a puzzled expression.
It looks like... it fell from the sky and hit us?
"What should we do?"
Han Li hesitated for a moment, "Zhang Tie, it doesn't seem right to keep leaving him on the roadside."
After speaking, he looked at the coachman.
Zhang Tie immediately nodded in agreement, "Why don't we carry him into the car? Judging by his age, he might be heading to the Seven Mysteries Sect just like us."
Ultimately, the two were still just kids, and they couldn't bear to see someone lying on the ground, unknowingly and unattended.
The driver frowned and pondered for a moment.
One more or one less doesn't matter; we might as well bring them all to the Seven Mysteries Sect.
Maybe the child just fainted from hunger after waiting for the bus for too long.
Thinking of this, the driver said, "Since he's still alive, you two can carry him up."
After receiving permission, Han Li no longer hesitated and cooperated with Zhang Tie to help the person who had fallen to the ground up.
The two people, one on each side, bent down to help each other.
As soon as he exerted force, an unusual heaviness came from his arm.
Han Li felt a sudden weight on his hands, and the two of them barely managed to lift the man's upper body a few inches off the ground!
His legs and most of his body were still stuck in the shallow pit.
"Ouch! Why is this so heavy? Han Li, look at him, is he carrying some kind of thousand-pound weight?"
Zhang Tie's face turned red, and he couldn't help but cry out. He used all his strength to pull himself up.
Han Li was equally astonished.
This weight is completely unlike what a teenager of the same age should have.
The two tried several more times together, their foreheads beaded with sweat, but they could only barely lift the boy's upper body and were unable to move him at all.
"I can't do it anymore."
Zhang Tie, panting heavily, shouted towards the carriage, "Li Feiyu! Li Feiyu! This person is incredibly heavy; the two of us can't lift him alone. Come down and help!"
Inside the carriage, the voice that had been complaining earlier rang out lazily, laced with obvious sarcasm: "Ha, you can't even lift a person? With that little strength, you two dare to go to the Seven Mysteries Sect for the assessment? It's laughable!"
Despite the harsh words, the curtain was still lifted.
A boy who was taller than both Han Li and Zhang Tie jumped down.
With an impatient expression on his face, he walked over to the two of them in a few steps.
"Move aside, you're so clumsy."
Li Feiyu pushed Zhang Tie away, bent down, reached under the black-clad boy's armpit with one hand, and tried to lift his leg with the other.
"I'd like to see just how heavy it is..."
He took a deep breath and exerted his strength three times.
However, the expected ease did not materialize.
His face flushed instantly, and the muscles in his arms tensed up, with veins becoming slightly visible.
With all his might, the man's body swayed slightly, barely lifting him off the ground by half a foot, before he fell heavily back down.
"Ha!"
Li Feiyu straightened up, his lazy expression replaced by astonishment. He looked at his hands in disbelief and blurted out, "Is this even human?!"
Finally, with the help of the driver, the four of them worked together to move the person into the carriage.
Li Feiyu collapsed onto the sideboard, groaning, "Ugh, I'm exhausted."
Han Li and Zhang Tie each leaned against a corner, their already empty stomachs feeling even hungrier after all this commotion.
The last piece of sweet potato was eaten yesterday, and now there's only some water left.
It took Han Li quite a while to feel better.
His gaze fell on the black-clad boy at his feet, who remained motionless with his eyes closed.
After hesitating for a moment, he propped himself up and moved to the front of the carriage.
Pick up the old kettle filled with water, uncork it, bring it close to the person's lips, and try to pour some into it.
Water flowed down the corner of his mouth, and he seemed to swallow instinctively in his unconscious state.
Han Li focused intently on the other person's reaction, and seeing this, he quickly poured himself a second bite.
Zhang Tie couldn't help but speak up, "Is he waking up soon, Han Li?"
He remained silent until the last drop of water was gone, then he put the kettle aside and examined it carefully.
When he was feeding the boy water earlier, he noticed that the black clothes the boy was wearing were made of fine and smooth material, not ordinary coarse cloth. There were also intricate dark patterns inside and out, but they were not clearly visible because of the dust.
How could someone dressed like that faint alone on a deserted dirt road?
Time passed, and the sky gradually darkened.
Han Li, Zhang Tie, and Li Feiyu were all curled up, each asleep.
After all, that way you won't be hungry.
Just then, the boy in black suddenly opened his eyes.
A fleeting sense of disorientation crossed his eyes as he scanned his surroundings.
He then sat up silently, his back lightly resting against the side panel.
The sound of snoring rose and fell around him. The boy's face was calm and still, but the deep confusion in his eyes could not be hidden.
I am clearly dead...
Where is this place?
The thought had just arisen when he clenched his fists, placed them on his knees, and closed his eyes.
But it opened its eyes again very quickly.
He first slowly raised his left hand to examine it, then lowered his eyes to scan the black clothes on his body, confirming that it was indeed his attire.
Could it be that I've fallen into the mind and body of some great demon?
The idea was rejected as soon as it came to mind.
How could a powerful demon in the Ascension Realm silently capture a cultivator in the Immortal Realm?
Moreover, he has lost all his cultivation level and his body has shrunk to the size of a young boy.
Only a great cultivator at the fourteenth realm can achieve this.
Zheng Juzhong?
This name came to mind instantly.
But now that Chen Qing is stationed at the top, it will be absolutely difficult for outsiders to get involved.
What on earth is going on?!
Lu Jianghe felt increasingly awe-inspiring.
