Chapter 612

At the same time, Warwick, aboard the dimensional warship, also looked towards the direction of the Beast Universe.

Across a vast distance, father and son exchanged glances.

Next, Murren will fall into a deep sleep to fully integrate the powers of the two universes; Warwick, on the other hand, will embark on a new adventure with his companions.

It is foreseeable that this will be a long farewell.

But, as stated at the very beginning of this book:

"As long as the adventure continues, we will meet again someday!"

Unfinished business and reflections

That's right, it's finished!

To be honest, there's still a lot to write about in this book, but thinking about it carefully, it doesn't seem necessary. Continuing to write it would just be a waste of time.

Mellen has already achieved the Dao Lord status and found his own path to transcendence. The next step is to integrate the two universes, condense the infinite cosmic radiance, solidify the Dao Fruit, and achieve the Dao Venerable status.

Actually, I initially planned this book to be 120 million words long. In the outline, the first 80 words were about the starry universe, and the last 40 words were about the beast universe.

The final scene where father and son gaze at each other across a vast expanse of time and space was something I had already envisioned since the very first chapter of this book. The only part that differed from my expected ending was actually the dragon.

In the original ending, the dragon was Mellen's main opponent. After Mellen achieved final victory, the dragon, phoenix, and tiger races escaped from the universe of beasts.

However, as I wrote further, I put myself in the dragon's shoes and realized that an immortal being wouldn't care about temporary gains or losses. Even if millions of years of planning were ruined and someone else reaped the rewards, so what? As long as greater benefits could be gained, everything would be acceptable.

Next, let me talk about what I consider to be the book's strengths and weaknesses...

advantage:

I think it's a complete and fairly interesting story, told from the perspective of the protagonist, Mellen, as he goes through a fantastical and extraordinary adventure.

Things to note:

First, I overestimated myself.

For a story about taming beasts, it's essential to depict an ensemble cast. Each beast needs ample screen time and a distinct personality, along with appropriate interactions. I think I handled this aspect fairly well in the initial stages.

However, things got a bit chaotic after Nasus, and the Wolf Rider class also started to be developed during this period. The protagonist's extraordinary abilities also needed to be described in a lot of detail, so I always felt like I was neglecting some aspects while writing.

More importantly, I originally wanted to write two main storylines, one overt and one covert, with Murron in the open and Warwick in the shadows. While Murron was taking action, Warwick was also making progress simultaneously, and his actions would be reflected at some point, influencing Murron's subsequent actions or thoughts. This is what you see in the Mysterious Wizard series.

I took it, thought too much about it, but ultimately my skills were limited, and it didn't feel quite right.

Second, it still made the mistake of relying on empiricism.

Some plot points, from the author's omniscient perspective, I could foresee in advance, and I thought they were foreshadowing, which made me quite pleased with myself. But to my friends, they seemed rather outdated.

That's right, I'm talking about Chapter 23, the part where Mellen takes the aptitude test!

Third, it's still not satisfying enough!

I did want to write a fast-paced, exciting story, and from my own perspective, that's exactly what I did. But when I reread the book from the beginning in the middle and later stages, I realized it was too slow-paced! And some parts were also very verbose and completely unnecessary.

……

Okay, there are quite a few shortcomings. To save face for myself, I won't list them all. I'm not recording these shortcomings for any other reason than to try to avoid making the same mistakes in the next book.

Looking back now, I think it might have been better if I had started with the Universe of Myriad Beasts instead of the Universe of Stars, and instead started with a pure Beast Taming build.

It seems I really have some issues with my starting choices. It seems the same was true for my previous book. If I had started as a scholar in the near future instead of a medieval knight, it might have been better.

Let's briefly review the timeline. The story of the book "Companions" undoubtedly takes place at the beginning. Afterward, Warwick embarks on a long adventure in the outer universe. When he ends up in the Arcane Universe, he is all alone. Moreover, due to the second impact of fate, even his body has been stripped away by fate, leaving only a shadow.

During this period of the arcane universe, the Sixth Arcane Emperor reigned. Warwick met the young Seventh Arcane Emperor, and the two became both teacher and friend.

As time continued to pass, during the era of the Twelfth Arcane Emperor, the protagonist of the book "Arcane" arrived here with a fragment of a transcendent treasure, beginning his own glorious journey.

Finally, the new book is set in a game universe created by the Seventh Arcane Emperor, which gradually went berserk due to the addition of some unknown elements by Warwick.

Incidentally, it's worth mentioning that although these three books I envisioned are set in the same universe, they don't have much connection in terms of the story content itself; at most, there are some minor Easter eggs.

I saw some readers mention the side stories. In fact, I did have quite a few side stories in mind for this book. For example, the Xuanfeng Clan and the Youhu Clan tore apart a part of the Myriad Beasts Universe and left, carrying a small amount of the Myriad Beasts Universe's origin with them.

If Murren ultimately wants to make the universe whole, he must return to these origins.

There's also Warwick and his companions' cosmic adventure, and the second Fate Shock they experience along the way.

I have drafts of all of these, and I will write them down when I have time in the future.

Lastly, I need to take a break and clear my head. The new book will probably be released in about half a month (or maybe twenty days?). I hope you guys will continue to support me then.

To be honest, this book did a pretty bad job, but on the other hand, I persisted in writing it until the end, which is probably a kind of effort (*^▽^*).

My new book, *Game Universe: Awakening and Enhancement at the Start*, has been released.

My new book is launching, and I hope you guys will support me!
