Chapter 838
Educating Macarita
Su Chen turned around and his gaze fell on the newcomer.
Bardos has long, smooth, light purple hair, styled into an elegant bun at the back of her head, revealing her smooth forehead and delicate features.
Her skin was fair and delicate, and her eyes were a mysterious pale purple, with nebulae seemingly flowing deep within her pupils, calm and profound.
She wore a modified dark purple cheongsam with a high collar that hugged her long neck. The well-tailored bodice perfectly accentuated the voluptuous curves of a mature woman.
She had a slender waist, and the cheongsam had a slit that reached mid-thigh. As she walked, her long, straight legs encased in sheer stockings were faintly visible, and she wore a pair of high heels in the same color.
She held a slender cane with a crystal ball at the top, her posture elegant and dignified, exuding a divine beauty that transcended the mundane, intellectual and slightly aloof. Unlike Weiss's elegant mystery, she possessed more of a feminine gentleness and lofty spirit.
"Welcome, Miss Bardos." Su Chen put down the water bottle and gave a perfectly timed smile. "How did the match between Beerus and Champa go?"
"Thanks to you, the warriors of Universe 7 performed admirably." Bardos nodded slightly, a hint of scrutiny flashing in her pale purple eyes.
She had already learned about Su Chen's special nature from Weiss, and having seen it with her own eyes, she could feel even more strongly the strange aura that was both out of place and yet harmoniously coexisted with the entire universe.
He stood there, his breath calm, yet he seemed to exist outside all rules, beyond even her perception as an angel.
Over the next few days, Bados stayed on Earth, or rather, near Su Chen's villa, under the pretext of observing the local customs and culture of the Seventh Universe.
Su Chen was happy to act as a "tour guide".
He took her to see the bustling night view of Xidu, to taste the desserts developed by Bulma's food company that made Xiangpadu drool, to watch the sunset by the quiet lake, and even explained some philosophical and artistic concepts to her.
During their conversation, Su Chen discovered that Bados was not as detached from worldly affairs as she appeared.
She possesses a strong curiosity and a love for exploring the unknown. Her conversation is full of wisdom and humor, but these are masked by the composure honed by her angelic duties and long life.
Su Chen's perspective that transcends the framework of the universe, his unique understanding of the essence of power, and his meticulous experience and enjoyment of life all intrigued Bardos.
Before they knew it, the two spent more and more time together, and their conversations went from initial polite greetings to sharing about the laws of the universe, the meaning of life, and even their own experiences.
Beneath Bardos's elegant demeanor, Su Chen keenly noticed the subtle longing for the Seventh Universe that occasionally slipped through her fingers.
While the warriors from the two universes were fiercely battling it out in the arena for a few delicious dishes and to save face for the God of Destruction, Su Chen and Bardos' relationship was quietly growing closer during afternoon tea in the garden, late-night talks in the study, and quiet moments gazing at the starry sky side by side.
Bardos's posture holding the staff became more and more relaxed. The angelic aloofness in her pale purple eyes gradually melted into a more vivid and warm smile when she faced Su Chen.
The controversy surrounding the competition eventually subsided, with Universe 7 narrowly winning, and the process was much easier than in the original story.
But then an even bigger wave of trouble was about to unfold.
Two Omni-Kings.
That supreme being, childlike innocence, and possessing absolute power of erasure, was drawn to this "interesting" competition and, on a whim, decided to hold a "Power Tournament" involving all universes.
When the news arrived, Su Chen and Bardos were on the stargazing platform on the top floor of the villa.
Weiss and Champa were also nearby, with Champa still brooding over losing the game and the food.
"A universe-wide competition..." Su Chen pondered.
He knew that this was a major turning point in the main storyline of Dragon Ball Super, and an opportunity for Goku and his friends to reach a higher stage.
He still doesn't plan to get directly involved, but he will keep an eye on things.
Just then, a lively, slightly teasing female voice chimed in: "Hehe~ Looks like Universe Seven is going to be on edge this time! But, more than that, what I'm curious about is—"
The owner of the voice, a petite yet remarkably proportionate and energetic angel with long pink twin ponytails, wearing a tight-fitting outfit resembling a leotard, suddenly appeared on the observatory.
It was none other than the guide angel of the eleventh universe, Makalita.
She blinked her large amber eyes, her gaze shifting back and forth between Bados and Su Chen, a mischievous smile on her face. "Our elegant and intellectual sister Bados seems to be frequently visiting the Seventh Universe lately~ Is she 'observing local customs and traditions,' or... observing the customs and traditions of a certain special person?"
She deliberately dragged out her words, her eyes conveying a suggestive tone.
Bardos remained expressionless, glancing at Macarita with her pale purple eyes without replying, but a faint blush seemed to flash across her ears.
Seeing this, Makalita became even more excited and turned her attention to Su Chen: "And you, Mr. Su Chen~ An Earthling who can make Sister Bados linger is indeed extraordinary! I wonder if you have any other 'special talents' besides being 'special'?"
Her words were bold and direct, carrying the mocking tone of an angel looking down on all living beings, as if Su Chen were merely an interesting new toy in her long and boring life.
Su Chen raised an eyebrow, looking at this overly lively and outspoken twin-tailed angel.
Makalita has a pretty and cute appearance. Her twin ponytails bounced lively with her movements. Her tight-fitting clothes perfectly outlined her petite yet curvaceous figure, especially her incredibly slender waist and straight, long legs, which exuded an elfin vitality and allure.
But the pure amusement and teasing in her eyes made Su Chen decide that he had to "educate" her a little.
The opportunity came quickly.
A few days later, while the details of the Omni-King Tournament were still being discussed, the gods and angels temporarily dispersed.
Su Chen "accidentally" encountered Makalita in a secluded clearing in the woods behind the villa. Makalita seemed to be taking a walk, but was actually just idly strolling around looking for fun, but couldn't find any.
"Oh, isn't this the witty and humorous Miss Macarita?" Su Chen greeted her with a smile.
“It’s you, the extraordinary mortal.” Macarita tilted her head, her amber eyes sparkling, still carrying that playful tone. “What, all alone here? Isn’t your sister Bados with you?”
“She has some things to discuss with Weiss.” Su Chen took a few steps closer, his tone casual. “But you, Miss Macarita, seem quite interested in my affairs?”
“Of course! You’re the only mortal in the universe who can make Lord Beerus suffer and even make our sister Vados… well, look at you differently!” Macarita, with her hands behind her back, skipped around to Su Chen’s side, leaned close to him, and breathed sweetly, “I’m so curious~ what kind of magic do you have?”
“No magic,” Su Chen suddenly reached out, his movements so fast that even the angel Makalita hadn’t fully reacted. His slender fingers gently pinched her pointed chin, lifting it slightly and forcing her to look up at him. “However, I do have the skill to teach a disobedient little girl a lesson.”
Makalita froze, her amber eyes widening instantly!
She...she is the guide angel of the eleventh universe!
One of the supreme beings! This mortal... dared to pinch her chin?!
They still call her "little girl"?!
"You... how dare you!" She tried to break free, but found that the other person's fingers, though seemingly casual, contained a strange power. It was not brute force, but a higher level of "lock," which prevented her from using her angelic power to teleport or counterattack for a short period of time!
Su Chen's face drew closer, his warm breath brushing against her cheek. His voice was deep and domineering, leaving no room for argument: "You said the wrong thing before."
"What...what did I say wrong?!" Makalita was both embarrassed and flustered, her face flushed red, and her heart was racing for no reason.
This feeling of being completely suppressed and in close proximity was an experience she had never had in her long life!
"Teasing Bardos and then provoking me." Su Chen's thumb gently caressed her smooth chin, his gaze deep, as if trying to see into her soul. "I don't like it."
The forest clearing was silent, save for the rustling of leaves in the breeze.
The two were in an extremely ambiguous position, with Su Chen's tall figure almost completely enveloping the petite Makalita.
Makalita could clearly see his thick eyelashes and feel the unique aura emanating from him, an aura that was neither divine nor ordinary, which made her heart tremble slightly.
She tried to glare back, maintaining her angelic dignity, but her cheeks grew hotter and hotter, and her eyes began to dart away.
"Tell me, did you make a mistake?" Su Chen asked again, his voice not loud, but carrying a sense of oppressive pressure that made people uneasy.
Makalita opened her mouth, wanting to retort defiantly, but her chin was pinched, and when she met his eyes, which seemed to see through everything yet held a mocking and unyielding quality, she couldn't utter the words that were on the tip of her tongue.
She had no doubt that if she continued to be stubborn, this unconventional "ordinary person" would do something even more outrageous.
“…Wrong, wrong.” Her voice, barely audible, was squeezed out from between her teeth, filled with intense shame, indignation, and resentment.
An angel, a dignified being, was forced to admit his mistake by a mortal!
"I can't hear you," Su Chen said deliberately, tightening his fingers slightly.
Makarita trembled, her amber eyes welling up with tears. Furious, her face flushed red, she raised her voice, "I was wrong! I misspoke! Okay?! Let me go! You wretched bastard!"
Su Chen then released her hand with satisfaction, and even ruffled her pink hair, his actions as affectionate as if he were soothing a cat with its fur standing on end.
"That's a good boy. Remember, some jokes shouldn't be made carelessly."
Makarita immediately jumped back, covering her pinched chin and ruffled hair, her face flushed red, her chest heaving violently, pointing at Su Chen: "You...you...you rude guy! I, I'll remember you!"
Even so, her tone had lost some of its initial playfulness and condescension, and gained more of a sense of exasperation and a strange, unsettling feeling that she herself was unaware of.
I'll get my revenge on this bastard sooner or later, that's right, I absolutely have to get revenge!
She glared at Su Chen fiercely, then her figure vanished in an instant, as if fleeing in panic.
Su Chen looked in the direction where Makalita had disappeared and smiled.
This overly lively twin-tailed angel needs a little lesson to realize that not all mortals will follow the script of angels.
Speaking of angels, they are quite interesting. Perhaps because they live for such a long time, most angels are probably the kind of calm and composed type who don't easily reveal their emotions.
This twin-tailed angel is quite rare.
I still find it very interesting, like meeting a blonde Lan Qi who likes to tease, but ends up being teased instead.
Unlike him.
Like a tireless star, Sun Wukong burns with the ultimate passion for battle, leading the warriors of Universe 7 through a jungle of powerful beings from various universes.
Too burning!
So exciting!
But it doesn't seem to have much to do with me. I seem to have passed the age of that fighting frenzy. Most importantly, there's no need to put too much pressure on myself, so I don't have much motivation.
Those battles that concerned the survival of the universe, those battles that unleashed the potential of humanity and all races, those hymns of friendship and sacrifice…
Su Chen occasionally gleaned some information from snippets of conversation from Bardos or Weiss, or from the enthusiastic recounting of Earth's Z Fighters after their return.
But he himself has completely faded out of that stage where legends were written with fists, kicks, and energy waves.
The battle with Beerus, the God of Destruction, seemed to be a clear dividing line, separating him from the regular Dragon Ball storyline.
He is more like a detached observer, a mentor who occasionally offers solace.
When Vegeta gets frustrated because he can't break through a certain bottleneck, Su Chen will hand him a cup of tea and say calmly, "Instead of being obsessed with surpassing others, you should first surpass yourself from yesterday."
When Son Gohan wavers between the identities of scholar and warrior, Su Chen would pat him on the shoulder and say, "It's not contradictory to use power to protect the knowledge and peace you want to protect."
When Krillin or Tien Shinhan felt their strength waning in the cosmic-level battle, Su Chen simply encouraged them calmly: "The will to protect is itself a powerful force."
It's standard motivational talk and pep talk, but coming from someone who once single-handedly defeated a god of destruction, it often has a strange persuasive power, calming the listener and reigniting their fighting spirit.
He clearly devoted most of his time and energy to other things.
His life increasingly revolved around two angels with very different styles, and the daily life that oscillated subtly between divinity and humanity.
Bardos visited more and more frequently, and stayed for longer and longer periods of time.
She seems to have found a way to relax outside of working as a guide in the sixth universe, like Champa.
The interaction with Su Chen gradually transformed from initial probing and curiosity into a habit, and even an expectation.
Su Ran himself preferred this approach, as his goal was to collect as many of the girls who appeared from the Dragon Balls as possible. (End of Chapter)
