Chapter 22

Conspiracy

In Paris, since Vinina had lost contact with Li Yao and her family hadn't provided any information, she had no choice but to go back and investigate in person.

However, before Li Yao could be heard from, Vinina received news that Luo Feng had returned home safely.

"Yao!...I don't believe it!"

In the room, Vinina's eyes gleamed with madness as she suddenly crushed the tablet in her hand.

"Get the plane ready immediately, I need to go to Australia right away!"

......

Kirishima, Australia.

For a full two weeks.

The people Vinina brought searched almost the entire Fog Island and the surrounding lakes, but still found no trace of Li Yao.

Given this situation, even if Vinina was unwilling to believe it, she knew that Li Yao was dead and his remains were nowhere to be found.

At this moment, a subordinate came to report.

"Madam, the experts we brought have completed their analysis of the Kirishima environment."

The subordinate handed Vinina a tablet computer and then continued the presentation.

"This misty island originally contained a vast amount of plant spirits, but they have all been excavated recently. In addition, traces of activities and battles exceeding the level of a War God have been discovered, suggesting that they may be vying for some treasure even more precious than plant spirits."

As Vinina looked at the photos and analysis reports, she grew increasingly angry. She couldn't understand why her family wouldn't explain what had happened on Kirishima, or why Luo Feng was able to return alive while Li Yao remained here forever.

"Luo Feng! We're locked in a fight to the death!"

Seeing Vinina's murderous intent, her subordinates around her became terrified, fearing that Vinina would take her anger out on them.

In a desperate attempt to save his own life, one of his men mustered all his courage and approached Vinina, offering her a document in an effort to distract her.

"Madam, when we were investigating Luo Feng's information, we unexpectedly discovered that Luo Feng has a relative who is still alive. She has no background, unlike Luo Feng's family which is protected by the Extreme Martial Arts School. We can first lay a trap, and then use her to lure Luo Feng out. Then we can do whatever we want with him."

After hearing this, Vinina's icy expression finally softened slightly.

"Very good, I'll leave this matter to you. As long as you can kill Luo Feng, I will, in the name of the Polinus family, even help you break through to become a War God."

"Don't worry, Madam, you will see Luo Feng's family first thing tomorrow morning."

Vinina nodded and walked toward the plane to prepare for her return journey.

She alone is far from enough to deal with Luo Feng; she needs to go back and find more allies.

"No matter the cost, Luo Feng must die!"

......

Paris base city, the headquarters of the Bolenas family.

Before Vinina could even speak, her clan chief brother spoke first.

"Vinina, the family didn't explain Li Yao's situation clearly before, and we wanted to wait until you calmed down before talking about it."

Luo Feng is no longer the same as before. He now possesses the strength of a peak War God and may break through to become a councilor at any time. He is also the inspector of the Limitless Martial Arts Academy. Killing him is now impossible.

When Vinina heard this, she was shocked. She never expected that Luo Feng would have changed so much in just over ten days.

Even so, I'm determined to kill Luo Feng.

Although Vinina was surprised, her determination to kill Luo Feng only grew stronger.

Luo Feng is currently a peak War God, but with enough effort—either by having multiple War Gods attack him or by enlisting the help of a councilor-level expert—he can still be killed. However, if they wait any longer, and Luo Feng breaks through to become a councilor during this time, then there will truly be no chance of killing him.

"My dear brother, can you now tell me in detail what happened on Kirishima? And where are Li Yao's remains?"

Vinina knew her elder brother, the clan chief, very well. Something earth-shattering must have happened on Kirishima Island, and the Polenas family had suffered a loss, which was why he was so patient.

Chief Polenas looked at the information about Mist Island that Vinina had shown him, his expression remaining indifferent.

He knew very well that Luo Feng possessed many plant spirits, even wood crystals and connections to ancient civilization relics, but with Zhou Tong and Hong around, he dared not have any extra thoughts.

Chief Polenas then showed Vinina detailed information about Kirishima and advised her to give up revenge.

"Vinina, forget about Li Yao. You can find a better man and have another son, or even several more."

Vinina sneered inwardly, but after reading the information, her expression stiffened, though she was still very unwilling.

"My dear brother, the plan to kill Luo Feng has been arranged long ago. Now the arrow is on the string and must be released. Even if you don't help me, I will continue and I will not give up until I achieve my goal."

Vinina showed the information about Luo Feng's aunt's family, still wanting to try again.

Chief Polenas quickly reviewed all the information, but still shook his head and refused.

"Vinina, I understand your thoughts in terms of reason, but the family cannot take risks. Luo Feng has someone behind him who can fight on par with the First Elder Hong. If you insist on going your own way, I will expel you from the family."

When Vinina heard the news, she was stunned for a moment, but this only strengthened her resolve. Taking action now might still be successful, but if everything about Luo Feng was exposed, and no one on Earth would dare to provoke him, then it would truly be too late.

For Vinina, killing Luo Feng had become an obsession.

Although Vinina lost the support of the Bolenas family, she saw a familiar name in the information given to her by the patriarch. It just so happened that he had not participated in the Kirishima incident for some reason, and he was strong enough to kill Luo Feng.

......

The residence of Councilor Yan Hai.

Vinina burst into tears the moment she saw him, her tears falling like raindrops on a pear blossom.

"Senior, my husband Li Yao was brutally murdered by Luo Feng, and even his remains couldn't be found... Waaah~"

Vinina covered her face with her hands and cried uncontrollably, while also observing Councilor Yan Hai's reaction through her fingers.

However, Councilor Yan Hai only sighed softly and then fell silent.

'This old fox seems to be the type who won't act until he sees a benefit,' Vinina thought to herself, knowing exactly how to continue.

"Senior, you must know about the matter of Kirishima. The reason why Luo Feng was able to kill Li Yao was because he obtained a large number of plant spirits and a lot of wood crystals on Kirishima, and even obtained treasures from the ruins of an ancient civilization."

After listening, Councilor Yan Hai said calmly, "The matter of Luo Feng has already spread among the councilors. I know more about it than you do."

"Those things should have originally been ours. It was Luo Feng who cruelly killed Li Yao, causing us to lose everything. But now we still have a chance to take them back."

"Oh~?"

Vinina then explained the plan to Councilor Yan Hai in detail, again involving Luo Feng's relatives.

Upon hearing this, a glint flashed in Councilor Yan Hai's eyes. He was a man who would stop at nothing to achieve his goals, and now that he had the opportunity to take a step further, he was naturally willing to give it a try.

As for Zhou Tong's existence, Councilor Yan Hai had never met him in person, and the potential benefits were enough to make him take the risk.

The two immediately exchanged a glance and reached an agreement.

After leaving Yan Hai's residence, Vinina returned directly to Jiangnan Base City and began to act according to plan.
