Chapter 592

As if remembering something, the girl softly added:

"forever………"

"forever?"

"forever."

I was so sleepy that I couldn't even remember what I was saying.

It seems like...forever?

What does that mean?

The witch and the girl's eyelids grew heavier and heavier, and they fell asleep again.

The storybook sat quietly by the bedside, telling the story of the two of them through One Thousand and One Nights.

This story may continue to be told, until the cold winter passes and the next winter arrives.

It tells everything about love.

—The End

Is Volume 4 considered magical girl?: Author's Closing Remarks

First of all, thank you to all the friends who have accompanied this book this far. I never expected that this book would still come to an end after all the ups and downs. This is also the first time I have finished a long book, which is quite unexpected.

As I wrote in my book launch notes a long time ago, the initial idea for this book was simply to write a story about the strongest magical girl who single-handedly defeats the entire world. There was no outline; I just came up with some interesting ideas and slowly wrote it down for the sake of those dumplings and vinegar.

So I feel that the first volume was the best, with each chapter flowing smoothly and naturally. The second volume was only planned for the ending, so there was a considerable period of time in the middle where the plot seemed a bit chaotic and the pacing was strange. But fortunately, the ending was still able to deliver the explosive effect I had envisioned, and the whole volume didn't fall apart.

But the third volume was quite disastrous.

The story from the end of Volume 2 to this part of Volume 4 can be said to be a transition to the blank space of the Overlord Arc in Volume 4. Although I had conceived of it before writing, some very serious problems arose.

That is, in the initial conception, I thought of too many dark and intense plots, which led to the fact that when I realized I was going to write the third volume, it was completely out of sync with the overall tone of the book. For example, in the original setting, the relationship between Haibara-sensei and the problem children was not so much bad, but rather terrible. Also, the background of R'lyeh's side changed from having many terrible magical girls to having more good people overall (which resulted in not having enough bosses for the author to enjoy fighting in the last volume).

For example, the original concept for the Queen was that she was a tyrannical young girl with a naturally dark personality. Belial was also originally a boss with a significant role in the middle of the story. Haibara's childhood was originally a lie fabricated by Lilith herself, but the more she wrote, the more she felt that it was depressing and strange, so she deleted them all.

As a result, the reasons for Kazama's emotional outburst and the reasons for hiding Haibara's story at the end of Volume 3 became less compelling. Therefore, the ending did not become the best volume-ending climax as I had hoped. Instead, the pacing was strange and the emotions did not rise after the initial depression, making it a volume that I found extremely disappointing.

Having fully recognized his own shortcomings in writing, he learned from the lessons of the third volume and did not drag out the plot of the fourth volume for too long. The Overlord Chapter was the final chapter.

Otherwise, the originally envisioned final boss after the Overlord arc would be Dr. Kougami, who absorbed the Serpent Demon King's crystal, and in the end, Haibara, who had been redeemed and transformed into the Overlord Dragon, would have to return the love. It would also have been possible to recreate the wedding bird form of Kirishima and Lily.

The above plot was ultimately nipped in the bud by the headmistress who noticed something amiss in time.

Fortunately, it finally came to an end, albeit with some bumps along the way. The fourth volume, which I had envisioned as the final chapter of the story, was eventually written. I was really excited when I realized that there was hope for the story to be finished.

Just like in the book, I actually quite like villains who go all the way down the dark path, and I also like villains who are simple and unpretentious. I don't really like the kind of plot where the villain actually has a reason for their actions and is actually planning to do something good in the end. So I really like the plot from Hong Yu's debut to being veiled, and I also like villains who are purely evil but get their comeuppance in a satisfying way.

However, from the very beginning, Ms. Lily was designed as a magical girl who, despite having many flaws, deeply desires world peace.

Just like the ending of this book, it is a predetermined, perfect, and happy ending.

Looking back after finishing writing, I still have many feelings. After all, several plot points that I initially thought were very interesting ended up being forgotten because I lacked energy and writing skills.

Some of those plots are still somewhat ambiguous, while others are written rather weakly. But they are already there, and there is no chance to change them completely. It's like thinking that your life will be written smoothly and perfectly, but when you look back after going through it all, you find that there are still many regrets, and there is no chance to regret it anymore.

But just the fact that it was finished was very touching; it was the first time I had ever finished a long novel.

Thank you again for your company and support all along the way. I am very grateful. I hope that in the end, it will be a novel that people will find interesting and somewhat enjoyable.

After the main story is finished, there will be some epilogues, prequel chapters, and "what if" scenarios, such as the progress of the problem children's romance, and the encounters between the Queen and the Headmistress.

Another possibility is that because Haibara hasn't remembered her past, she remains an ordinary person and therefore hasn't participated in the main storyline's "what if" scenario.

Hopefully, these can be updated gradually and brought you some enjoyment~

Finally, I'm curious which character is your favorite after all this time. If you're interested, feel free to leave a comment in the chapter review section here!

Lastly, lastly.

The story has come to an end. Thank you for your support.
