Vehicle Upgrade

First of all, Chen Yu did not hesitate.

I selected the "Space" option.

This little van could never fit all the other girls.

And most importantly...

The space in a public backpack will increase as the space in the vehicle increases.

The current 30-grid public space is still somewhat inadequate.

As time went on, the space requirements increased, so Chen Yu had to plan ahead.

[Upgrade achievable]

[Basic Expansion I]

• Requirements: 500 wood, 250 iron blocks, 200 parts

• Effects: Slightly stretches interior space, adjusts seating layout to 3+2+2 (comfortably seating up to 7 people), slightly increases trunk space, and adds 5 more public backpack compartments.

• Time taken: 90 seconds

• Status: Sufficient materials

[Framework Extension I]

• Requirements: 1200 wood, 600 iron blocks, 450 parts

• Effect: Extends the vehicle frame, transforming a minivan into a minibus. It has 12 standard seats by default and includes a flexible expansion area. The number of shared backpack slots is increased by 15.

• Prerequisite: Requires completion of [Basic Expansion I]

• Time taken: 180 seconds

• Status: Sufficient materials.

• Warning: Defense and sealing performance significantly reduced.

Chen Yu didn't hold back and upgraded the space twice in a row at the start.

He turned his head and suddenly said, "I'm going to upgrade the car's interior space. I don't know what might happen, so be prepared. Class monitor, focus on driving and don't worry about anything else."

Zhang Wanyue was the first to respond: "Okay!"

Before the girls in the back could even process what was happening, they immediately felt the car vibrate!

The original seats, walls, and roof began to deform!

The view from inside the car opens up dramatically!

The front driving area remains largely unchanged, but the middle and rear areas have been significantly expanded backward and to the sides!

A series of soft metallic clangs rang out!

[Vehicle Type Update: Minibus]

[Internal volume: Significantly increased]

Standard passenger capacity: 12 people

[Number of compartments in the shared backpack: 45]

When everything calmed down, everyone came to their senses.

They found themselves inside a minibus.

The twelve seats are arranged in a 2+2 configuration, for a total of six rows.

The middle section is a passageway that allows one person to pass through, with a ceiling height of about two meters, making the overall space feel much more comfortable.

"Did we... really change cars?"

As Wang Mengmeng put on her clothes, she exclaimed, "There are so many more seats!"

Li Mengyao also stood up and counted: "There are 12 seats in total, and there are only five of us..."

Deng Yuxin suddenly realized, breathing out warm air: "No wonder I felt so empty and cold, phew~"

Chen Yu didn't join the discussion; he just glanced at the inventory, which was still astonishing even after being depleted.

"The space is sufficient for now."

"We need to reinforce the structure and control the temperature, otherwise they'll freeze to death sooner or later."

Chen Yu in the [Structural Reinforcement] section...

We successively selected [Structural Reinforcement I] and [Structural Reinforcement II].

Total building materials used: 1100 wood, 500 iron blocks, 100 parts

Amidst the fluctuations, the vehicle's structure was successfully upgraded twice.

But this is just the beginning...

Chen Yu went directly to the [Environmental Control] section.

Internal insulation layer I, external active de-icing, constant temperature life support system I, simple heat circulation I, a whole host of cold-resistant upgrades, but due to material limitations, most of it is gray and dull.

In the end, Chen Yu settled on two.

[Upgrade: Internal Insulation Layer I]

Requirements: 400 wood, 10 cloth, 100 parts

Effect: The entire interior wall of the vehicle is covered with high-efficiency heat insulation material, significantly reducing heat loss.

Status: Sufficient materials

[Upgrade: Constant Temperature Life Support System I]

Requirements: 50 low-level energy cores, 200 iron blocks, 150 parts

Effect: An independent temperature control unit can maintain the cabin temperature to the maximum extent even in extremely low temperatures.

Status: Sufficient materials

Indeed, the most outrageous of them all is the [Constant Temperature Life Support System I].

This upgrade requires a whopping 50 low-level energy cores!!!

What does this mean?

If Deng Yuxin hadn't returned 130 at once, they might have had to open 50 more treasure chests!

After all, the last time I opened the treasure chest, I only got one low-level energy core!

In other words, this is not an upgrade that should have been considered in the early stages; it should have been left unused!

The initial considerations should include these insulation measures:

[Basic Seal I]

Requirements: 3 pieces of cloth/leather, 5 parts

Effect: Quickly fills gaps in the car body, slightly reducing heat loss.

Time taken: Effective immediately

Status: Upgradeable immediately

【Internal Simple Insulation Layer I】

Requirements: 30 wood, 10 cloth/leather, 15 parts

Effect: The addition of an insulation layer to the inner wall moderately reduces heat loss.

Time taken: 90 seconds

Status: Upgradeable immediately

Etc., etc.

There were plenty of simple heating facilities, but Chen Yu certainly didn't care for them; his building materials were far beyond what was required.

"upgrade."

As the car owner, Chen Yu issued commands using his mind!

hum-

next second!

The interior walls of the carriage are covered with a matte gray-white material!

The biting cold was effectively blocked!

"Um?"

The girls on the bus also noticed it and were slightly taken aback: "What is this?"

Chen Yu made a "shh" gesture, because this was just the beginning!

Immediately afterwards, a low, rumbling sound of engines came from beneath the vehicle's floor...

It's a warm current!!!

The air is now flowing out evenly from the newly added vents!

[Interior temperature: -25℃ → -10℃ → 0℃ → 18℃!]

The constant temperature system is operating stably.

The outside temperature continues to drop, with the constant temperature value decreasing to 17℃.

The outside temperature continues to drop, with the constant temperature value decreasing to 16℃.

The cold air was quickly dispelled!

Although it wasn't nearly as scorching as summer, it was still a relief for the group who had just crawled out of an icy hell...

This 16°C temperature is simply a gift from heaven!

"call--!!"

"It's so warm! Oh my god!"

Deng Yuxin was the first to not be able to hold back and exhaled, finally the white mist was gone!

She removed two of the three coats she was wearing, revealing a smile: "I felt like my blood was freezing! Thankfully, I've warmed up again!"

With the temperature back above zero, Chen Yu felt much more at ease...

But he didn't dare to let the student council member drive slowly, because the outside temperature was too low and the temperature control system couldn't withstand it.

As things stand, they are no longer suffering from the cold.

"He's alive! He's alive..."

Wang Mengmeng, as if she had died once, exclaimed, "This was so difficult! Chen Yu, what exactly did you do? It feels like... our vehicles have changed a lot!!"

Zhang Wanyue asked from the driver's seat, "Those building materials in the public backpack can upgrade this much???"

She could hardly believe it.

If survival in the apocalypse is this easy, and the icy disaster is so easily overcome...

What kind of survival game is that?

Both logically and emotionally, Zhang Wanyue felt that things were not that simple!

The problem most likely lies with the car owner...

"The building materials in my backpack are certainly not enough."

Chen Yu answered crisply: "What's truly important is talent..."

"?"

The women were taken aback. Talent?

Everyone knows that Chen Yu's talent is the ability to foresee the future.

But what does this have to do with building materials?

Chen Yu chuckled: "Don't forget, I can see the future, which naturally includes hidden resource points."

Li Mengyao covered her mouth: "So, how much building materials did you just use?"

Chen Yu didn't hide anything, counting on his fingers: "We just used about three thousand units of wood, one thousand units of iron, one thousand units of parts, and a few dozen energy cores, about that..."

He wasn't exaggerating; in fact, he said a little less.

At this moment, in Chen Yu's personal backpack:

Timber: 790 units

Iron blocks: 430 units

Parts: 1640 units

Fabric: 5 units

Glass: 20 units

Low-level energy core: 83 units

That's right, even the remaining supplies are enough to drive the other teams crazy!

On the bus...

When the girls heard about the amount of building materials consumed, they couldn't help but gasp!

Deng Yuxin's pupils dilated: "Three thousand units of timber!!!"

Li Mengyao covered her mouth: "A thousand units of iron!!!"

Wang Mengmeng exclaimed in surprise: "A thousand units of parts!!!"

Even Zhang Wanyue, who was driving, turned her head and exclaimed, "Dozens of energy cores???"

Chen Yu nodded: "Mm."

"My God..."

Deng Yuxin exclaimed again, her eyes sparkling, "Chen Yu, you're just too amazing!"

(Vehicle upgrades, module content, prerequisites, etc., are actually part of a complete system, but I will simplify them to avoid making it boring. If you still feel there is too much data and it affects the viewing experience, you can comment on this section and I will consider balancing it.)
