Chapter 1006

Shocked and Backing Away

The Burning Angel retreated in shock, disbelief in his eyes: "You... your strength..."

Ying Zheng looked at him coldly: "Your evil arts are no match for us. Now, retreat immediately, or don't blame us for showing no mercy."

The Burning Angel hesitated for a moment, then gritted his teeth and said, "Fine, I will remember what happened today. I'll come back later!" With that, he led the remaining demons away quickly, leaving behind a trail of charred remains.

Ying Zheng gazed into the distance, a resolute glint in his eyes: "Although we have won this time, the enemy is merely testing our strength. They will soon return with even greater power."

Ziya gripped the Wind-Fire Wheels tightly and said excitedly, "No matter what kind of enemies they send, we will not back down! We are ready to meet any challenge!"

Bai Wei smiled and nodded, a hint of tenderness in her eyes: "Yes, no matter how great the difficulties, as long as we are united, nothing can stop us from moving forward."

Xu Fu pondered as he perused the celestial book, saying in a low voice, "We need to learn more about the enemy's background and capabilities. I will use the celestial book to search for information about them and see if I can find their weaknesses."

Yang Ling stood to the side, his eyes sharp: "I will continue to use the Heavenly Mirror to observe the enemy's movements. We cannot allow them any opportunity to launch a surprise attack on us."

Everyone returned to the palace and began their preparations. Ying Zheng picked up the Thunder Sword, went to the training ground, and began practicing his swordsmanship. His swordsmanship was like a storm, each strike brimming with destructive power. He knew that in the upcoming battle, he would need to unleash his full strength.

Ziya was not to be outdone; he practiced his Wind and Fire Wheels skills on the other side. The Wind and Fire Wheels spun in his hands, releasing scorching flames and violent storms, turning all obstacles on the training ground to ashes.

Bai Wei sat quietly to the side, her hands circling the spirit water bead as she practiced water control. Under her control, the water transformed into various shapes, sometimes as sharp as a sword, sometimes as solid as a barrier.

Xu Fu sat in a corner of the palace, eyes closed in deep thought, a faint light emanating from him. The Heavenly Book floated before him, turning each page as if telling endless ancient secrets.

Yang Ling remained steadfastly guarding the Heavenly Mirror, his gaze unwavering. He knew his responsibility was to protect everyone's safety, and he could not afford to be negligent in the slightest.

A few days later, Yang Ling suddenly felt a strong tremor. He hurriedly picked up the Celestial Mirror to check. He saw a huge black crack appear in the sky, emanating an evil aura.

"This is bad, the enemy's main force is here!" Yang Ling shouted.

Upon hearing the news, everyone immediately put down what they were doing and gathered around Yang Ling. They gazed at the black crack in the sky, their faces showing not fear, but determination.

Ying Zheng gripped the Thunder Sword tightly and said in a deep voice, "This enemy is stronger than any we've faced before. But no matter what, we cannot back down."

Ziya brandished his Wind and Fire Wheels, his face full of anticipation: "Let them come! We are ready!" Bai Wei gently stroked the Spirit Water Pearl, her eyes shining with determination: "We will use our own power to protect this land."

Xu Fu slowly stood up, the Heavenly Book spinning around him: "I have found some records about this kind of rift. It is an evil spell called 'Gate of the Demon Realm,' which can connect two different worlds. We must be careful, as the enemy may use this gate to send out a large number of demons."

Yang Ling nodded: "We need to set up a more powerful formation, just in case. Bai Wei, Xu Fu, you two are in charge of this task. Ying Zheng, Ziya, and I will be responsible for fighting the enemy."

Everyone sprang into action. Bai Wei and Xu Fu began setting up an array; their techniques were skillful, and soon a huge protective shield formed around the palace. This shield emitted a pale blue light, firmly protecting the palace within.

Ying Zheng, Ziya, and Yang Ling stood at the very front of the palace, their eyes resolute, ready to meet the challenges to come.

Soon, a large number of demons suddenly poured out of the black rift. These demons were of various shapes and sizes; some resembled giant wolves, some pterosaurs, and others were half-human, half-snake monsters. Their eyes gleamed with evil light, and they emitted sharp howls.

Ying Zheng charged forward first, his Thunder Sword flashing through the air like lightning, repelling the demons one by one. His movements were as swift as lightning, each strike hitting the enemy's vitals with deadly accuracy.

Ziya's figure swept across the battlefield like a whirlwind. His Wind-Fire Wheels transformed into vortexes of flames and storms, each swing claiming the lives of dozens of demons. His eyes were filled with fighting spirit and excitement as he shouted, "Come on, let me see your power!"

The demons collapsed under the power of the fiery wheels, but as time passed, it seemed that even more demons were pouring out of the cracks. Ziya frowned, turned to Yang Ling, and shouted, "This can't go on! They seem endless!"

Yang Ling stood at the edge of the battlefield, the Heavenly Mirror spinning in his hand as he searched for the enemy's weakness. His gaze remained sharp and profound. Suddenly, a glint flashed in his eyes: "Found it! The source of these demons' power lies in their hearts! As long as their hearts are destroyed, they will lose their power!"

Upon hearing this, Ying Zheng wielded the Thunder Sword even faster, his movements fluid and precise, each strike piercing the demon's heart with deadly accuracy. His face was etched with unwavering resolve as he roared, "Good! Concentrate your power on their hearts!"

Bai Wei was not to be outdone. Her spiritual water pearl spun in the air, transforming into hundreds of water arrows that shot towards the demons' hearts. Her eyes revealed a hint of peace and gentleness, yet on the battlefield, they displayed astonishing power. The water arrows, sharp as swords, pierced the demons' bodies time and again, causing them to howl in agony.

Xu Fu provided support from the rear, the Heavenly Book floating around him. Each page turned released a powerful force, forming a shield or launching an attack. His voice was deep and resonant: "We must find a way to seal the rift, or demons will pour out endlessly!"

Yang Ling nodded, his gaze returning to the Heavenly Mirror as he searched for a way to seal the crack. His hands moved across the mirror's surface, and he chanted incantations, as if conversing with the heavens and earth.

Just then, a figure slowly emerged from the crack. He was covered in black scales and held a black halberd. Upon seeing him, the demons all stepped aside, appearing respectful and fearful. (End of Chapter)
