After Lin Ze broke the three-point contest record and won what could be called the most exciting and entertaining three-point contest in history, the subsequent dunk contest seemed somewhat unremarkable.
Dysonmond Mason won the championship. He actually dunked quite well, but unfortunately, the previous champion was Carter. Compared to Carter, Mason's dunks seemed unremarkable and not worth mentioning.
Fans didn't get much excitement from this year's Slam Dunk Contest.
However, they had a lot of fun.
It's all thanks to Baron Davis.
God knows what this guy was thinking; he performed a blindfolded windmill dunk for everyone.
Then, he miscalculated the distance, and his windmill was so perfectly round that it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say it was drawn with a compass.
The problem is that when he slammed the basketball down after grabbing the ball, it was still half a meter away from the rim.
His ball didn't touch the rim; he performed a dunk that missed the rim three times in the dunk contest!
This shot made O'Neal laugh so hard he almost passed out. He even overturned his chair and landed on his bottom because of his laughter.
An airball in a dunk contest is something you only see once in a lifetime.
In fact, in the entire history of the NBA, from the past to the future, in the decades-long history of the Slam Dunk Contest, there has only been one instance of an airball dunk.
From this perspective, Davis won!
After all, Mason, the dunk champion, is practically invisible. Throughout his career, more people know he was the dunk champion than he knows he fought with Yao Ming.
There's little chance of replaying or watching his dunks in the dunk contest.
But Davis's airball dunk will surely go down in history. Even ten or twenty years from now, people will still watch Davis's blindfolded dunk again and again and derive a lot of joy from it.
Then, the happy night came to an end, and Lin Ze and O'Neal returned to the hotel that the league had prepared for them. As for Kobe?
They had both forgotten about this guy.
Why would anyone care what he did?
Then Sunday arrived, with various routine care activities in the morning and a traditional roundtable meeting in the afternoon.
This time, Lin Ze's status is quite different.
Last year, he was surrounded by mostly domestic reporters, and his popularity and status were arguably the lowest among the ten initial interviewees.
But this year, after experiencing events such as assaulting Malone, winning the championship, making the All-NBA team, continuing to improve his performance this year, and defending his three-point king title, Lin Ze's status has risen a lot without anyone realizing it.
As the reporters gathered around, a Chinese reporter couldn't wait to ask, "Lin, we've seen your brand new Adidas GG, it's so amazing! It's the best sports GG I've ever seen. Did you design this GG yourself?"
"I only provided some basic ideas; the specific details like the script, dialogue, and visuals were all handled by professionals, but I'm confident everyone will like it!"
"So when will your first signature shoe be released? Will it be during All-Star Weekend?"
"It's probably too late for the All-Star Game," Lin Ze said, "but releasing the shoes before the playoffs should be no problem!"
When the two men got to this point, the large number of foreign journalists gathered around, including those from the United States, Europe, Canada, South America, and other regions, looked at each other in bewilderment.
"What signature shoes? What GG? Why don't we know?"
"I'm sorry, I spoke with some Adidas staff, and I realized that since I'm Chinese, the release of new sneakers is always very slow in our country. Often, a pair of shoes will only reach us after it has been released for half a year."
"So this time we've decided to give back to our Chinese fans, to give them a surprise! Our brand new GG will be shown on Chinese TV a day early."
"My sneakers will be launched in China a month in advance, and then they will be sold in other parts of the world."
"Consider this a small gift from me to the Chinese fans!"
Upon hearing this, the Chinese reporters immediately became wide awake and excited!
Listen to this!
What does "one of us" mean?
We're all on the same side, so we should give each other extra preferential treatment!
Several Chinese journalists decided to include this incident in their articles!
The other reporters, of course, had nothing to protest about, but they were very interested in the so-called "best sneaker GG they've ever seen."
What guy could possibly receive such high praise?
Fortunately, although the sneakers were released a month in advance, they're now gone, and they'll be able to see them during the All-Star broadcast tonight.
Tonight is the first GG Day that Adidas has arranged for Lin Ze!
After nearly six months of preparation, Adidas is about to launch a full-scale attack!
In fact, if AJ hadn't shamelessly released an All-Star colorway before the All-Star Game to cash in on non-fans, Adidas would have been preparing to release Lin Ze's new shoes during the All-Star Game!
However, after the release of the Air Jordans and their immediate sell-out, Adidas held several internal discussions and ultimately decided to postpone the release date to avoid competing with Jordan.
Lin Ze still had a slight objection to this.
However, he was an adult after all. Although he didn't want to avoid the limelight, considering that these were all green US dollars, Lin Ze agreed without much hesitation.
But he also told himself: This is the last time! Next time, I won't give way to anyone!
After reporters spread the news that "Lin Ze will be broadcasting a new sports video tonight, and it may be one of the best sports videos in history," countless fans were already waiting in front of their TVs before the All-Star game started.
They wanted to see what the best option really was.
"It's starting! Come on, come on!"
Anyone who didn't know would definitely think that the All-Star Game had started.
But in reality, everyone's here to see GG.
This time, Adidas really went all out! Ever since they signed Lin Ze with top-tier status, they have invested a lot of resources in him.
Although there weren't many sneakers or GG shoes released in the early stages, countless posters, standees, and GG signs were already on the market. This time, the first GG was even broadcast simultaneously in more than 100 countries around the world, taking advantage of the All-Star Game!
"Hi, I'm Lin, and this is my story."
"I spent the first two seasons of my career on the bench."
"They said I was a zero, completely useless."
"I think they simply didn't see my talent."
"I didn't complain or blame anyone; instead, I kept training, training!"
"When no one believes in you, any effort will earn you points."
"This is no longer a question of whether I can play basketball well."
"I want to prove them wrong."
The entire scene lasted less than a minute, without any high-tech special effects or exaggerated performances. It was simply Lin Ze standing in front of a transparent whiteboard, drawing a simple sketch with a pen, and then the little figure in the sketch came to life, with Lin Ze's voice playing in the background.
This simple, line-drawing style is indeed a first for SportsGG.
Many fans felt Lin Ze's sincerity and the difficulties he had overcome from the simplest of scenes.
How can a rookie establish himself in the Bulls dynasty? How can he get on the court?
How did he go from being a nobody to becoming a two-time All-Star starter?
From doubt to triumph, from humble beginnings to legend!
These few dozen seconds of "GG" touched the hearts of countless people.
Now everyone finally understands why some people say this is the greatest GG in sports history.
Saying it's the best might be an exaggeration, but saying it's one of the best is definitely not an overstatement!
Countless fans also expressed their eagerness to watch the game.
The GG is out, but what about the sneakers? Where are the sneakers?
Adidas: Don't rush, don't rush, it's being done!
Of course, as those who frequently travel through time know, this GG was copied by Lin Ze.
Having been reborn, how can I not plagiarize at least once?
When Adidas asked Lin Ze what he thought of the new GG, Lin Ze didn't hesitate and simply copied the GG that originally belonged to Arenas, which made Arenas 1.0 sneakers a bestseller and ranked among the top five in total sales that year.
Anyway, it's all Adidas's GG. Whether you use it or I use it, it's all the same. In the end, Adidas makes the money, so why differentiate between us?
Lin Ze easily convinced himself.
"You're definitely going to be a star, bro!" In the locker room before the game, O'Neal patted Lin Ze on the shoulder and said, "Not being able to sign you to my brand will be the biggest regret of my life."
"If I were to get into your brand, it would definitely be the biggest regret of my life," Lin Ze scolded. "Shaq, I'm not trying to be mean, but you should hurry up and find a proper brand and wear proper sneakers. That stuff of yours will ruin your health sooner or later."
"No way!" O'Neal laughed heartily. "My shoes are the best in the world!"
"Alright." Lin Ze shook his head, too lazy to persuade him any further.
He simply knew all too well what level of quality O'Neal's shoes were.
Lin Ze hasn't forgotten about the leak at last year's All-Star Game!
It's fine for him to wear them while walking, but what about for him to wear them while playing ball?
At that moment, a staff member knocked loudly on the door and entered the dressing room, saying, "It's time to enter! Please hurry!"
So, all 12 players on the Western Conference team got up and walked towards the court.
Those guys from the east, of course, entered at the same time.
Actually, just looking at the All-Star rosters of both teams reveals why the West is stronger than the East.
In the East, both Antonio Davis and Anthony Mason can start, although Hill and Mourning are injured. But if these two were in the West, they wouldn't even make the All-Star team, let alone start!
Lin Ze, Duncan, Garnett, Rasheed, Webber, Malone —
With these positions available, neither of them can compete with the other.
Even Nowitzki and Pippen, who weren't selected, are completely outmatched.
Of the remaining players in the East, only Allen Iverson is currently in the top five of the MVP rankings, and only Iverson and Vince Carter are in the top ten.
While it's not entirely accurate to judge who's in the top ten in the league based solely on the MVP rankings, it does give you a rough idea.
With an 8:2 ratio of players in the top ten of the MVP rankings, it's only natural that the West is much stronger than the East.
O'Neal immediately scored 2 points by dominating the rim, and then Duncan continued his role as the most boring person in the All-Star game, interfering with Carter's layup under the basket. The West launched a counterattack, and Kobe jumped up to receive a pass from Kidd and slammed it home.
Carter then missed a long-range three-point attempt, but Lin Ze immediately pulled up from almost the same spot as Carter and also took a long-range three-pointer.
The difference is that Lin Ze's three-pointer went in smoothly!
Then McGrady missed a jump shot, and Kidd found Duncan on the fast break, assisting him for 2 points. Kidd then quickly intercepted a careless pass from Iverson and drove to the frontcourt to dunk for 2 points.
In the blink of an eye, the West unleashed a dream start with an 11-0 run!
It looked like an absolute stomp, and some people were even starting to fantasize that this year might see some kind of record-breaking point difference.
However, this is the All-Star Game after all. Even if the West has a strong lineup, they can't really crush the East. Especially after the West's head coach, Adelman from the Kings, substituted Duncan a few minutes later, the West's defense immediately plummeted.
Without Duncan, who was always in the right position to disrupt the game, the East's scoring became much easier. The West didn't pull away until the end of the first quarter, and they only led the East by 9 points going into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, Iverson and Marbury, among others, began to unleash their power, firing away at the basket repeatedly.
With 3.7 seconds left in the first half, O'Neal passed the ball from the baseline to Kidd, but Kidd, after receiving the ball, actually passed it to Lin Ze, who had already started to put his hands on his hips and wait for halftime!
Caught off guard, Lin Ze received a pass from Kidd in the backcourt and angrily cursed, "You even passed that? Have you no shame?"
Then he could only dribble once before throwing the ball out near the three-point line in his own half of the court.
"Whoosh!"
Lin Ze's hot streak from last night clearly continued, as he hit a long-range three-pointer, helping the West end the first half with an 8-point lead.
"Well done!" After Lin Ze hit the target, Kidd looked at him with a grin, as if he had delivered a brilliant pass to bring peace to the world.
"Do you usually pass the ball to Anfernee like this when you're with the Suns?" Lin Ze scolded. "Now I know why his knees are like this."
"I call this selflessness! Letting my open teammates take the most crucial shots!"
"That's fucking shameless!"
In the final minute of the third quarter, Adelman substituted both Kobe and Garnett in at the same time. At this point, the Western Conference team was only leading the Eastern Conference team by 13 points.
But in the next minute, these two guys who had never been to college suddenly developed a chemical reaction.
-
First, Kobe initiated a pick-and-roll, Garnett cut to the basket, received the pass, and slammed it home. Then, Garnett held the ball high and facilitated the play, Kobe cut to the basket, received the ball, and delivered another powerful one-handed dunk. Finally, Garnett defended the Eastern Conference layup and then launched a long pass, which Kobe quickly cut to the basket, received the ball, and slammed home a dunk!
In just one minute, the two of them combined for three plays, scoring another 6-0 against the East!
In the blink of an eye, the gap between the two sides reached 19 points!
At this point, with the All-Star Game upon us, most people have only one feeling.
almost!
Next, everyone just goes through the motions, does a few flashy dribbling moves and powerful dunks, and the game will be over!
Three minutes into the fourth quarter, when the West went on a 6-2 run against the East, extending their lead to 23 points, Eastern Conference head coach Larry Brown called a timeout.
At this point, Brown's original idea for the timeout was to let everyone calm down, relax a bit, let everyone have one last show, and then they could go home.
But what Brown didn't expect was that at this moment, his top player, Allen Iverson from the 76ers, would start giving a speech.
"Why can't it be us? Why can't we pull off a 23-point comeback in tonight's All-Star game? Why are we destined to lose?"
"Is it because those people don't believe in us, think we have no hope, and therefore we're destined to lose?"
"Is it because we're not as big a name as the West, and we don't seem as strong as the West, that we're destined to lose?"
"We can win! We can turn this around tonight!"
If Lin Ze were here, he definitely wouldn't give Iverson any face, and he certainly wouldn't let him finish speaking so leisurely. Instead, he would tell Iverson, "The reason you look like you're going to lose is because you're down by 23 points, not anything else."
However, Iverson's speech really didn't have much effect. There was no way around it; this wasn't Philadelphia, and he was surrounded by the leaders of various Eastern Conference teams, not his Philadelphia underlings. This was just an insignificant All-Star game.
So after Iverson's speech, there were very few people responding, and some even yawned to show their impatience.
It's fair to say that, aside from no one directly telling Iverson to shut up and stop causing trouble, Iverson received the worst possible response.
Seeing everyone's lack of reaction, Iverson immediately became annoyed.
Whether on the team or in his own circle of friends, he is always surrounded by admirers and adoration. He has been used to being the eldest brother since he was a child.
This is a guy who, at the age of 14, led a riot involving hundreds of people and almost received a long prison sentence, nearly spending half his life in jail.
But tonight at the All-Star game, these people didn't give him any face.
Iverson didn't care whether this was an All-Star game or whether any of his predecessors were among these players from the East.
"A bunch of cowards!" Allen Iverson has never shown any respect for anyone on the basketball court, and of course, he shows the same disrespect off the court.
Aside from his impressive basketball skills and bright, expressive eyes, he has almost no redeeming qualities; he's a complete scoundrel.
However, Iverson, who is currently in his prime, has at least the ability to match his terrible personality!
"Coach, let me play! I'll lead the team to a comeback!"
Seeing his protégé's heartfelt plea, Larry Brown nodded: "Go ahead then, hit whatever you want!"
The meaning of this statement is quite clear.
You have unlimited firing rights!
So Iverson got up and walked to the scorer's table. He was waiting for a dead ball opportunity, and as soon as the ball went dead, Iverson would immediately go on the court.
While waiting for the ball to die, Iverson sat on the scorer's table, and idly chatted with the staff: "Anyone want to bet with me? I bet we can turn the game around tonight!"
The staff looked at each other, but none of them said a word.
They weren't sure if talking to Iverson about this was against the rules, or if they would be penalized if they got found out, so no one dared to respond.
Feeling bored, Iverson shrugged and then jumped off the scorer's table.
The ball is dead, it's his turn to enter the game!
At this moment, Lin Ze, sitting on the bench, frowned and said, "I've discovered something!"
Kidd, who was standing next to him, asked curiously, "What? You spotted a beautiful woman? You have to be careful in Washington; some pretty girl might just be the Secretary of Defense's daughter or the Vice President's mistress!"
"Can't you think of anything clean? Thinking about this all the time, be careful you don't die on a woman's belly one day!"
"That's the way I've always dreamed of dying!" Kidd said shamelessly. "And you, what did you discover? Tell me quickly!"
"That guy," Lin Ze gestured towards Iverson's back with his lip, then said solemnly, "When he's sitting on the scorer's table, it looks like his feet can't touch the ground! He has to jump to get down."
"Fuck!" Kidd couldn't help but curse. "Do we even need to discuss something this boring? Between the two of us, who's the one with the stupidity, spending all day researching weird junk?"
"Of course it's you!" Lin Ze pointed to Kidd's head without hesitation, indicating that this piece of trash was the dirtiest!
"Okay," Kidd said helplessly, "He really couldn't reach it, he jumped down. Marbury jumped down too. Both of them are definitely under 180 centimeters tall!"
At this moment, there were already signs of a sudden and dramatic change on the field.
Iverson is scoring!
After entering the game, this guy easily scored 6 points in a row, helping the team narrow the gap. At the same time, he kept directing his teammates, shouting loudly to keep everyone focused.
Unfortunately, the results were terrible.
"Fuck you!" Iverson was getting more and more anxious as he watched as the Western Conference team scored two easy baskets after he had just caught up a little.
Just when Iverson was struggling to carry the team alone, scoring 6 consecutive points but failing to narrow the gap, Brown made the first substitution!
Brown replaced him with another guy who volunteered.
Stephon Marbury.
This guy is the only one in the East right now, besides Iverson, who's eager to go up and make a move, and give the West a hard time.
Like Iverson, he was the kind of guy who didn't respect anyone except the King of Heaven.
So Brown sent in a completely illogical backcourt duo that looked like a black hole combination.
Iverson and Marbury.
Marbury exploded as soon as he entered the game, dribbling the ball up the court and executing an inexplicable pull-up three-pointer.
Although the shot went in, Brown couldn't bear to watch. He shook his head and closed his eyes. It was only an All-Star game. If it were a regular season game, and Marbury dared to throw the ball like that under his supervision, regardless of whether it went in or not, he would immediately call a timeout, substitute Marbury, and give him a good scolding.
Even though Iverson had unlimited shooting rights and was known as the league's king of reckless shooting, he didn't dare to just dribble up the court and shoot like that with the 76ers.
But Marbury hit the target!
Not only that, the Western Conference team then hit another shot. Iverson grabbed the rebound and rushed to the frontcourt. Ignoring the defense and his teammates, he forced his way to the basket and scored 2 points with a layup.
The 5-0 run by the East didn't seem to affect Adelman much. He continued his unhurried rotations. He's already been criticized for being too laid-back and casual, and now that it's the All-Star game, he's even less likely to be motivated.
As a result, the firepower in the east became increasingly intense!
There was no teamwork, no tactics, and hardly any passing.
Iverson and Marbury both suddenly found their rhythm completely.
Whoever gets the ball goes for it, it's practically one person per player, constantly helping the East score points.
Under the leadership of these two, the others in the East also gradually began to exert their strength!
First up was Stackhouse. He rushed into the paint, grabbed an offensive rebound over the heads of Duncan and O'Neal, then dribbled to the three-point line, turned around, and pulled up for a three-pointer!
Next, Carter blocked Kobe's layup on the defensive end, and after dribbling to the frontcourt, he also pulled up and shot.
Another hit!
After those two three-pointers, there were only 2 minutes and 42 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
The gap between the two sides has narrowed to 3 points!
At this point, Adelman still didn't call a timeout, and he wasn't even in a hurry to make substitutions.
It wasn't until the next possession, when O'Neal stormed to the basket, battling Mutombo fiercely, and was pulled down from mid-air by Mutombo like a steamroller, that Adelman looked at Lin Ze.
"Lin, go up and finish up!"
O'Neal walked to the free-throw line to prepare for his shot, while Lin Ze sat down on the scorer's table waiting to be cleared onto the court by the referee. Just then, Iverson arrived at the scorer's table: "I just said I wanted to bet that we could turn this around. Anyone else want to bet with me now?"
"I'll take it!" Lin Ze's eyes lit up when he heard about the bet! He'd been on a winning streak these past two days, so of course he wouldn't miss this opportunity.
"Who do you think you are, to dare to bet with me?" Iverson looked up at Lin Ze, still with that expression that said the whole world owed him money.
How could Lin Ze tolerate Iverson's attitude? "I'm an All-Star MVP, a three-time NBA champion, the Most Improved Player, and a two-time Three-Point Contest champion. What about you? What kind of bullshit are you? What honors do you have? Tell me!"
"I'm the scoring champion!"
"Data bot, what kind of crappy honors do you have to compare with me? Don't you have any more respectable honors? Is this all you have to offer?"
Lin Ze once again displayed his double standards.
Scoring title is a minor honor, but he even brought out All-Star three-point champion and Most Improved Player awards.
"You're saying the scoring champion is just a side job?" Iverson laughed, annoyed by Lin Ze's words.
"Do you have a championship? Any MVP awards? How many series have you won? Huh? I've won more series in one season than you've won in a lifetime! You're just a piece of trash on a garbage team!"
"Win even a championship or a proper MVP award before you talk to me, you stat-packer!"
"Remember your words, kid! Remember!"
Iverson glared at Lin Ze, completely falling into Lin Ze's trap. He only remembered that he didn't have a championship, but forgot to question whether Lin Ze's three-point king and most improved player awards were worth mentioning.
"And remember my words: you're a useless piece of trash who relies on piling up points with your brush, you stupid, pure iron short-handled brush!"
"Bang! Bang!"
While Lin Ze and Iverson were arguing, two missed shots came from O'Neal's side.
"Ball!" Iverson, having lost his verbal sparring match with Lin Ze, somewhat roughly begged Marbury for the ball.
Unfortunately for him, who was Marbury? He rolled his eyes at Iverson and said dismissively, "He's got a screw loose!"
Then he ignored Iverson, dribbled and accelerated, drove all the way to the basket, dodged the defense, and scored 2 points with a layup!
"You're not happy being called a useless, short-handled brush?" Lin Ze said. "If you were really that good, why don't your teammates pass you the ball? Because everyone looks down on you, everyone knows you're just a useless brush!"
Iverson was clearly furious at this point, and he echoed Lin Ze's words, "And you? You think you're so important? Are you some kind of superstar? Do you think your teammates will just give you the ball if you want it?"
At this point, Lin Ze even began to doubt Iverson's intelligence.
Who are the players on the field for the Western team right now?
Kidd, who controlled the ball; Lin Ze's teammates Kobe and O'Neal; plus Duncan, who never competed for anything.
With this lineup, you're telling me my teammates won't pass me the ball?
"Jason, ball!" Lin Ze waved to Kidd, who passed the ball over without hesitation.
Lin Ze passed the ball to Kobe, then shouted at him, "Kobe!"
Kobe originally wanted to take the ball himself, but seeing how eagerly Lin Ze was asking for it, he pursed his lips and passed the ball to Lin Ze.
Lin Ze continued dribbling, then passed the ball directly to Duncan inside.
Duncan received the ball and was about to post up when Carter had already retreated to help defend.
Duncan didn't force it and immediately passed the ball back.
This time, Lin Ze didn't pass the ball again, mainly because there wasn't enough time for him to dribble and change direction to pass it to O'Neal. After receiving the ball, he pulled up and unleashed a powerful three-pointer from beyond the arc!
"Whoosh!"
After the crisp sound, Lin Ze hit a three-pointer, helping the West extend their lead to four points again!
After scoring, Lin Ze immediately ran towards Iverson, giving him a tight marking match, while mocking, "Want to keep watching? Nobody's passing you the ball, you short-handled iron brush?"
"Ball!" Iverson was furious after seeing Lin Ze show off his skills. He turned around and called for the ball towards the baseline, but Mason saw that there was someone guarding him, so he chose to pass the ball to the unguarded Marbury.
Iverson yelled at Marbury again, "Pass the ball!"
"Get out of here! Just clear the way for me!" Marbury waved his hand impatiently. He was a big shot, and with his shooting touch on fire, how could he possibly pass the ball to Iverson?
Iverson's patience had completely vanished; ever since high school, no one dared not pass him the ball.
Oh, when he first joined the 76ers, Stackhouse dared not pass him the ball.
Then Stackhouse was traded away, and he became the king of Philadelphia.
Iverson was incredibly agitated at this moment: "Give me the ball, you bastard! FUXX! Pass me the ball right now!"
"Are you out of your mind?" Marbury said with a look of disgust. "Get the hell out of my way!"
As it turns out, pairing Iverson and Marbury together in the backcourt was destined to be a dream come true.
Marbury not only refused to pass the ball to Iverson, but after exchanging a few words with Iverson, he also stopped passing the ball to his other teammates.
This guy lowered his head and charged into the paint. When he tried to make a layup, Duncan and O'Neal slammed the ball against him, knocking his layup away.
"Great shot! Duncan and O'Neal! This is a rare sight! Marbury dared to drive to the basket with those two guarding it, he's insane! I think it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call the paint the greatest no-fly zone in history with those two guarding it!" Will Marcus laughed and said, "Michael, if this were you, would you be confident you could dunk over those two big men?"
Michael, of course, refers to Jordan.
As the owner of the Wizards, this guy has been on the front lines these past few days, giving speeches, participating in events, and supporting the league, which has really kept him very busy.
These things are not actually within his job scope, since apart from him, other league owners at most give a speech at the start of the All-Star game.
Jordan was busy from start to finish, and at the start of the fourth quarter tonight, he was invited to the commentary booth to commentate on the game with Wilmarcus and Smith.
Actually, Wilmarcus made the invitation casually, but he didn't expect Jordan to actually agree! When he accepted, Wilmarcus never imagined he would have such a big influence!
He certainly doesn't have that much influence.
But some people do.
Jordan sat between the two men, recalling the phone call he had with Stern before the All-Star Game.
Stern made no promises to him, nor did he make any demands. Stern simply talked to him about a lot of things from the 90s.
But before hanging up, Stern said something.
"If the Wizards can get a really high draft pick, they'll be able to rebuild very quickly!"
With just that one sentence, Jordan understood what Stern meant, and he knew what he had to do.
And so, model worker Dan went online!
"First of all, if I had two big men like those on the other side, I would never be so stupid as to drive into the paint. Marbury's choice was as bad as a high school student's. I haven't done anything so stupid since I was 8 years old."
"I'll teach them a lesson with my mid-range shots, make them come out of the paint, and draw their defense out. As soon as they come out, I can immediately take the opportunity to drive into the paint and score easily."
"Finally, you asked me if I was confident I could dunk over both of them?" Jordan paused, leaving a silence.
He didn't say whether he could or couldn't, but everyone who heard those words could read Jordan's subtext.
"Shut up!" Lin Ze yelled at Iverson on the court, "If you shut up now, you might have a shred of dignity left! You've completely lost face! Do you know what it means to have a good position on the team and to be well-liked? Do you know what kind of treatment a true star player receives?"
At this point, Lin Ze looked at Kidd, who was dribbling the ball: "Jason!"
Kidd knew the two were arguing, and although he was curious about how Lin Ze had managed to go head-to-head with Iverson, he was happy to lend a hand.
The basketball immediately came into Lin Ze's hands. He faced off against McGrady, lowered his center of gravity, and then kept stepping forward with his left foot, probing McGrady's defensive center of gravity.
At this point in the game, both sides have entered a real, all-out battle, which is the style of the All-Star Game: everyone can accept a crushing defeat, but nobody wants to lose by only 2 or 3 points.
The current McGrady is not the same young man who almost never bent over on defense a few years later. Now, whether with the Magic or the Raptors, he is a formidable force on the perimeter. At this moment, he stretches out his long arms, waiting for Lin Ze to challenge him.
Suddenly, Lin Ze took a big step forward with his left foot to the right. At the same time, he lowered his center of gravity and slid his shoulder, trapping McGrady behind him!
But he lowered his center of gravity too much, and his left hand, which wasn't dribbling, braced itself on the floor before accelerating again. In the blink of an eye, he left McGrady behind and rushed to the basket, jumping up to face Mason.
Mason Jr. is a tough defender, but he lacks height and has negligible jumping ability. He has long lost his ability to protect the rim and can only watch Lin Ze stick out his tongue and send the ball into the basket.
"Ah, that shot—" Wilmarcus looked at Jordan beside him, it was just like that! It was so similar to that shot!
Even Jordan's expression looked a little off at this moment.
Lin Ze's breakthrough, though simple in theory, is exactly in line with his style!
Jordan's breakthroughs weren't as flashy or dazzling as those of other star guards. He didn't use Hardaway's quick, subtle killer crossovers much, nor did he favor the wide-open crossovers of Iverson and Kobe.
His breakthrough style is simple and efficient!
If we had to find a label or style in Jordan's breakthroughs, it would be: effortless dribbling, an incredibly fast first step, an impeccable jab step rhythm, an extremely low dribbling center of gravity, enormous hand and finger strength, and a tongue that's always sticking out of his mouth.
He can often easily shake off his opponent with just a simple probing step followed by a follow-through or a dragging step.
Although Lin Ze's shot just now didn't showcase Jordan's first step and incredible finger control, in other aspects it was almost identical!
He even stuck out his tongue.
Jordan, sitting between the two, noticed something that the average commentator couldn't.
Lin Ze's smooth shoulder instantly blocked his position; he hadn't shared this little trick with anyone! But Lin Ze used it perfectly.
What happened? Did he always play like this?
"Michael, have you been playing basketball with Lin these past few days? You've been coaching him, right? You two are really good buddies!"
Brothers?
I'll fuck your grandma's legs!
