Chapter 226

Pym didn't reach out: "What do you mean?"
Tony's mech took the gem, walked to a wall behind the laboratory, and placed the gem in front of the wall.
"Identity verification in progress, holder of the Power Gem," a cold, mechanical voice announced.
Tony closed the mask and let the laser scan him.
"Welcome back, Mr. Stark."
Immediately afterwards, the wall in front of them opened, revealing a dark room inside.
Tony went inside and typed a series of commands into the computer.
The scanner was pointed at Hank.
"The transfer of authority has been completed. New holder: Henry Pym."
"What is this?" Pym asked in surprise. "Why is there a meeting room here that I don't know about?"
Suddenly, the lights on the six chairs in the conference room came on.
Reed, T'Challa, Charles Xavier, and Black Bolt appeared.
Tony led Pym to his original seat and sat him down.
“I’m no longer able to sit here,” Tony said. “So, at least until I recover, Hank will temporarily take over my duties as the new Power Stone holder.”
"Now, welcome to the Illuminati."
Pym stared in disbelief at the organization before him, which included leaders of almost every major superhero group. He pointed to the last empty seat and asked, "Who's this?"
“This is Doctor Strange’s location,” Reed said. “However, he seems to be offline for the time being.”
“I thought we’d be adding a few extra staff members to this meeting,” Tony said, glancing specifically at the professor and Reed.
“I explained things to Hank (Beast), but it seems he reached some kind of agreement with Hulk during this invasion, so he temporarily left Earth for the Kree. I will arrange for him to officially join the meeting when he returns.”
Everyone nodded.
“I was rejected,” Reed said, shrugging. “Clearly, this organization isn’t as appealing as we thought.”
……
A few hours ago.
Inside the Pasteur Building.
People are cleaning up the trash and debris inside the building.
Reed patted Colt on the shoulder and led him to the laboratory.
“You don’t seem to be in a good mood,” Reed said.
“Nobody’s happy about something like this,” Colt said. “I’d rather have a quieter life than save the world. Even if we win, hold onto Earth, and get the Grandmaster to send it back to the solar system, what did we sacrifice? Quicksilver, Human Torch, and hundreds of thousands of ordinary people.”
"To be honest, I'm increasingly disliking the world of superheroes. We're like a bunch of repairmen. When we're really needed, the wall has already collapsed, many people have been crushed to death, and all we can do is rebuild the wall and try to save a few people from the ruins."
“Yes,” Reed said. “That’s the tragedy of superheroes; we’re always a step behind.”
Colt didn't look at him; instead, he was looking down, deep in thought.
"Do you still have the pen I gave you?" Reed asked.
"What's wrong?" Colt frowned. "In my room."
"Bring it here, I think it's time."
……
Inside the Illuminati's meeting room.
“Then he rejected me,” Reed said. “He didn’t like such a secretive, clandestine organization.”
Black Bolt responded with a few words in sign language.
“Yes, if we could get him to join us, we could use his abilities and perhaps better prevent problems from arising in the first place. But ultimately, we can’t cross the line,” T’Challa said. “So, there’s really not much we can do.”

cemetery.
Wanda stood blankly in front of the newly erected tombstone, staring at the freshly filled soil.
She stood there silently.
At that moment, she clearly felt that Quicksilver had disappeared, disappeared from reality.
Quicksilver had no body, so they could only build a cenotaph for him.
Now that Quicksilver has saved everyone, people are finally starting to accept him again.
But what's the use of that?
Wanda watched the people apologize and express remorse at the funeral, but she didn't feel the slightest bit of emotion.
She didn't know what the meaning of her life was anymore; the world had taken everything away from her.
In that instant, she truly wanted to make the whole world pay for Quicksilver's death, but...
It turns out that there was still something she cared about in this world after all.
Someone is coming.
The witch vanished from the spot in an instant.
“He just died like that…” Tommy looked at the tombstone. “Actually, I had hoped to run away with him.”
Billy kept his head down and didn't say anything.
The two young superheroes silently placed bouquets of flowers in remembrance and then left.
Wanda emerged from the shadows, tears streaming down her face.
She had to go. Chaos magic was a curse that would make her lose everything, and now she had to rid herself of that curse, her last remaining attachment.

"This is an amazing discovery!" Zola exclaimed with elation as he looked at the tattered engraving in his hand. "This is from the Kree! This is a treasure from outer space!"
"Quiet down, Zola. He's just a piece of junk that even Octavius wouldn't consider worth a second glance," Zemo scoffed. "He wants to study the Inhumans' mutations to complete some plan of his. If he hadn't provided the blueprints for the new genetic weapon, do you think we would have helped him attack the Royal Guard?"
"Clearly, we've struck gold this time." Zuo Ka looked at the tattered, unreadable woodblock print in his hand. "This is a perfect example of being blinded by a leaf."

“This is a new site, but it’s strange; we’ve never found any records of this ancient site before.” During the meeting, Medusa translated her husband Black Bolt’s sign language. “Karnak, what are your thoughts?”
“Some crucial evidence is missing.” Karnak frowned. “However, from all aspects, it is indeed a former Kree research center, and from the surrounding environment, it seems like a research institute that crashed from space. So, perhaps it is a research institute that fell into disrepair after the uprising and was not occupied by us, which is why it was exposed in this earthquake?”
“The reconnaissance team detected a large amount of Terrigen Crystal reactions; we should at least go and retrieve them.” Gorgon projected the report onto the round table.
"Approval of the operation, but avoid conflict with the Earth government. After communicating with S.H.I.E.L.D., recover the materials as soon as possible." Medusa translated Black Bolt's sign language.

“I’ve discovered an ancient Inhuman research facility—or you could say it’s Kree, that’s fine too.” Octavius’s chubby face appeared on the hottest communication channel. “However, I can’t fight the Inhuman royal guards by myself, so I’d like to cooperate with you. What do you say, Hydra?”
“And the benefits?” Zola replied.
“I only need the Terrigen crystals and the corpses of the guards. As for the other Kree technology inside, it’s all yours,” Octavius said. “So, deal?”
"Deal." Zola nodded.
