Chapter 43
Top Secret Files
"Climb out?"
Jiang Han's finger stopped on the kraft paper bag marked "Top Secret".
He raised his eyelids and looked at the solemn old general in front of him with a half-smile.
"Old Li, are you telling me a ghost story?"
"Or are you saying that your 749th Bureau can't handle this mess, and you're going to make me, the 'patient,' take the fall?"
Li Zhenhua did not laugh.
His weathered face twitched slightly, and his eyes revealed a deep sense of apprehension.
"It would be better if it were a ghost story."
He sighed and pointed to the file folder.
"Open it and take a look. What's inside is far more terrifying than a ghost."
Jiang Han raised an eyebrow.
hiss-
The sealing strip was torn open.
Several black and white photos slid onto the small table on the hospital bed.
The photo was very blurry, as if it was taken by a surveillance camera in extremely low light.
The first picture is of a well.
The well is covered in ancient ruins, with a huge stone slab pressed down on its opening, covered with unknown runes.
The second picture is of the inside of the well.
A thick, rusty chain hung straight down into the dark depths of the well.
And the third one...
Jiang Han's pupils suddenly contracted.
That was an infrared thermal image.
At the deepest part of the well, at the end of the iron chain, there was a huge, twisted, dark red shadow.
It is neither like a snake nor a dragon.
It looks like a... curled-up human figure!
A gigantic humanoid!
"This is the source of the vibration detected by the construction team at Beixinqiao subway station at 3 a.m. last night."
Li Zhenhua lowered his voice, as if afraid of disturbing something.
"That chain moved by itself last night."
"It's pulling down."
"It's like... something down there wants to climb up the chain to get some fresh air."
The air in the ward instantly dropped to freezing point.
Jiang Han stared at the thermal image, when a sudden, burning pain shot through the Qilin tattoo on his chest.
That was a warning.
Also...excitement.
"That's interesting."
Jiang Han threw the photo back on the table, picked up her chopsticks, grabbed a piece of braised pork, and stuffed it into her mouth. The sound of her chewing was particularly jarring in the deathly silent ward.
"I'll take this job."
"But I'll have to wait until I'm discharged from the hospital."
"Of course!" Li Zhenhua breathed a sigh of relief, and just as he was about to say something, the door to the ward was suddenly pushed open.
Several elderly scholars wearing white coats and thick-rimmed glasses walked in.
The one leading the group was none other than Professor Gu Changfeng, who had previously wanted to dissect and study Jiang Han.
Two elderly men with gray hair followed behind him. Judging from their demeanor, they didn't look like doctors, but rather interrogators.
"General Li, we need to conduct a routine inquiry into Comrade Jiang Han immediately!"
Gu Changfeng held a voice recorder in his hand, staring at Jiang Han with a fanatical gaze, as if he were staring at a newly unearthed bronze artifact.
"The biological samples from beneath the Kunlun Mountains, his supernatural language abilities, and the mutations in his body... every piece of data concerns national security!"
Li Zhenhua frowned, just about to stop him.
Jiang Han waved his hand.
He swallowed the meat in his mouth, took out a tissue, and slowly wiped the grease from his mouth.
Then.
He leaned against the headboard, his dark eyes coldly sweeping over the group of so-called top experts.
That look in his eyes.
It wasn't the criminal looking at the interrogator.
Rather, it is the gods watching over mortals.
"Ask away."
Jiang Han said calmly, "I'm in a hurry to eat."
Gu Changfeng felt a chill run down his spine from that look, but he still gritted his teeth, turned on the recorder, and sat down in front of the hospital bed.
"Comrade Jiang Han, please answer seriously!"
"Based on our sonar analysis, those two plesiosaurs... no, unknown creatures, did not have sufficient brain capacity to support complex language logic."
How do you manage to communicate with them?
"Did you use some kind of infrasound emission device? Or... do you really possess some kind of lost 'Dragon Language'?"
The three elderly professors stared intently at Jiang Han, their pens hovering over their notebooks, awaiting the answer that could rewrite the history of biology.
Jiang Han smiled.
He smiled with a mocking expression.
"Dragon language?"
He chuckled and leaned forward slightly, instantly enveloping Gu Changfeng with an oppressive aura.
"Old man, you've got one thing wrong."
"I talk to them, without needing language."
"Do you need to learn to talk like an ant before you step on it?"
Gu Changfeng was taken aback: "What do you mean?"
"It means..."
Jiang Han pointed to his heart, his voice suddenly becoming low and hoarse, as if carrying a metallic resonance.
"That's the 'rule'."
"The rules that superiors follow over subordinates."
boom!
The moment the words fell.
Suddenly, the Qilin tattoo on Jiang Han's chest lit up with an eerie red light!
A terrifying, ancient, and blood-soaked pressure instantly exploded outwards from the center of the hospital bed!
"Beep beep beep beep—!"
The medical equipment next to them instantly went off the charts, emitting a piercing alarm.
"Well……"
Gu Changfeng and the other two professors felt as if they had been hit hard in the chest with a sledgehammer. Their faces turned pale instantly, and they slumped into their chairs, panting heavily.
Cold sweat instantly soaked my back.
That's a physiological fear.
It's a deep-seated fear of their natural enemies!
"Do you need to ask again?"
Jiang Han withdrew his oppressive aura and lazily leaned back on the pillow, as if nothing had happened.
"No... I won't ask anymore..."
Gu Changfeng stood up shakily, his gaze towards Jiang Han completely changed.
That's not looking at people.
That's like watching a monster in human skin!
Li Zhenhua watched this scene from the side, a glint of shrewdness flashing in his eyes.
That kid.
It's about establishing authority.
"Alright, everyone, get out."
Li Zhenhua waved his hand, shooing the several experts, whose legs had gone trembling with fear, out of the room.
The ward returned to silence.
Li Zhenhua looked at Jiang Han, his expression becoming unusually serious.
"We've established our authority enough, and we've had our fill of food."
"Jiang Han, I have bad news."
"Originally, we planned to seal off Kunlun Mountain and establish Restricted Area No. 001."
"but……"
Li Zhenhua paused, then took a tablet computer out of his pocket and handed it to Jiang Han.
on the screen.
It's a live monitoring video that was just transmitted back.
Location: Underground karst cave in Kunlun Mountain.
on the screen.
The once calm water surface was now churning violently as if it were boiling.
The two "Black and White Duo" that Jiang Han had tamed were now acting like madmen, frantically ramming their heads against the rock strata at the top of the cave!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Even through the screen, you can feel the despairing impact.
Blood stained the water red.
But they showed no sign of stopping.
"What are they doing?" Jiang Han frowned.
"They are crying for help."
Li Zhenhua stared intently into Jiang Han's eyes.
"Or rather... they're running for their lives."
"Experts analyzed that something underwater... has awakened."
"That thing made those two overlord-level monsters rather die than stay in the water for even a second longer!"
"Jiang Han".
"Before going to Lock Dragon Well."
"You have to go back to hell."
