Chapter 6777
The Villa's Defensive Array
For a moment, they were too afraid to move, as if they had been frozen in place, standing there blankly with fear and confusion in their eyes.
The smell of burning quickly fermented in the enclosed space, growing stronger and stronger, mixed with the man's pungent body odor, making the air increasingly suffocating.
In this tense atmosphere, a man in a navy blue suit stood out.
He loosened his tie, trying to breathe more easily, but the tension made his Adam's apple bob restlessly, as if an invisible hand was gripping his throat.
Fine beads of sweat slid down his angular jawline and dripped onto his shiny leather shoes, reflecting a faint light in the moonlight.
His fingers unconsciously rubbed against the inside pocket of his suit, where the gun handle was already soaked with sweat and had become slippery.
He knew the situation was extremely critical and his life could be in danger at any moment, but he dared not act rashly. He could only nervously observe the surrounding movements and wait for the right opportunity.
"Mr. Li has declared he wants him alive. Is this place any more difficult to enter than a dragon's den or a tiger's lair?"
"What kind of battles haven't we brothers seen? This place alone can't possibly stop us!"
Zhang Hu snorted coldly, the sound seemingly squeezed out from between his teeth, carrying a sense of disdain and arrogance.
The hideous scar on his face, stretching from his left eyebrow to the corner of his right mouth, resembled an ugly centipede. Now, with the trembling of his facial muscles, it twisted into an even more terrifying shape, sending chills down one's spine.
The blue dragon tattoo on his neck was faintly visible in the dim light.
The azure dragon bared its fangs and claws, its scales clearly visible, as if it were about to burst from its skin and fly freely in the air at any moment.
Zhang Hu flexed his wrists, his thick fingers clenched into fists, the knuckles cracking loudly. The sound was exceptionally clear in the silent environment, like the death knell tolling.
A violent killing intent burst forth from his eyes as if it were a tangible force, like two sharp daggers piercing straight ahead.
Zhang Hu strode forward, each step firm and powerful. His black combat boots pounded heavily on the dusty floor, making a "thump-thump" sound and kicking up a cloud of fine particles.
The particles danced in the beam of light like countless tiny sprites, yet they also carried an atmosphere of oppression and tension.
He took a deep breath, his chest rising high, as if he wanted to inhale all the surrounding air into his body.
His muscles tensed instantly, like hard stones or a beast poised to strike, ready to deliver a fatal blow to the enemy at any moment.
Suddenly, he shouted and his fist, accompanied by a whooshing sound, slammed down on the bedroom door!
The speed was so fast that people had no time to react.
The air twisted and deformed in front of the fist, producing a sound similar to the crackling of firecrackers, demonstrating the terrifying power contained in this strike.
The chandelier in the room swayed violently from side to side due to the powerful impact, casting a messy shadow that looked like a group of menacing monsters dancing in the darkness.
"Oh!"
A deafening thud echoed in the cramped space, as if it were about to shatter the entire room.
The sound was like a thunderclap, making people's ears hurt.
The door shook violently, and wood chips fell from the door frame like a light rain.
The sawdust fell in a flurry, scattering onto Zhang Hu's combat boots, but he didn't seem to care at all.
Zhang Hu's lips curled into a sinister smile, a smile like that of a demon, sending chills down one's spine. He revealed two gold-plated canine teeth, which gleamed coldly in the dim light, like two sharp swords.
In his view, this ordinary wooden door was utterly vulnerable; even if it were replaced with a steel plate, he would smash a hole in it.
He thought smugly, his eyes filled with confidence and arrogance, as if he could already see the prey trembling behind the door.
However, just as his fist, carrying immense force, was about to slam into the door, an invisible yet overwhelming force, like a surging tide, rushed out from the door!
This force was far stronger than imagined, instantly shattering Zhang Hu's fierce spirit.
Zhang Hu's smile froze instantly, and his previously arrogant expression became extremely distorted.
His face turned bright red, as if he had been hit head-on by a giant beast galloping from the ancient wilderness, and he was completely stunned on the spot.
The blood and qi in my body surged like boiling water, and my internal organs felt like they were being hit hard by a heavy hammer. Every beat was accompanied by excruciating pain.
A strong, metallic taste rose in his throat, almost making him vomit.
His body staggered uncontrollably, taking three steps back, each step leaving deep footprints on the floor.
His back slammed heavily against the wall with a loud "bang," and large pieces of plaster peeled off, revealing the mottled cement wall underneath, as if telling the story of the terrifying force that had just been exerted.
But this was far from over; the most outrageous things were yet to come.
Before he could recover from the shock and calm his disordered breathing, a dazzling bolt of lightning, like a golden dragon, struck again with the force of destruction.
The lightning ripped through the darkness, making a hissing sound that sent chills down one's spine.
Startled, Zhang Hu instinctively did a somersault and dodged the attack in a sorry state.
Even so, his eyes still showed intense fear, and large beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, soaking his clothes.
"How could this damn door be like this..."
Zhang Hu stared incredulously at the perfectly intact door in front of him, as if he were witnessing the most unbelievable thing in the world.
His pupils contracted sharply, his eyes filled with terror and resentment.
That door stood there like a mysterious monster, silently mocking his incompetence.
He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, casually smeared the crimson bloodstain on his pants, and his eyes grew increasingly fierce, like an enraged wild beast.
Undeterred, he threw another punch, this time gritting his teeth and concentrating all his strength in his right arm, putting in his full power.
The fist, accompanied by a whooshing sound, slammed heavily into the door, as if trying to smash it to pieces to vent his anger.
However, fate seemed to play a cruel joke on him once again. That mysterious force reappeared, like an invisible shield, reflecting his attacks back once more.
This time, his legs buckled, and he knelt heavily on one knee, the sound of his knee hitting the floor making a dull thud.
A sharp pain shot through his arm, as if countless needles were piercing it simultaneously. The web between his thumb and forefinger was split open, and blood gushed out, spreading into a dark red flower on the floor—a gruesome sight. (End of Chapter)
