Chapter 95
Let's go, Nuna
Chapter 95 Let's go, Nuna
Jung Do-hoon stood by the roadside, leaning against the door of Bae Soo-ji's red Ferrari, watching Park Ya-jeong's Land Rover taillights disappear around the corner.
The designated driver arrived quickly; she was a middle-aged woman wearing glasses. Before getting into the car, Park Ya-jeong glanced back at him with a meaningful look in her eyes, but said nothing and just waved her hand.
A night breeze blew by, carrying the dampness and sultry heat unique to early summer. Zheng Daoxun loosened his collar, the aftereffects of the red wine slowly rising, and drowsiness surged up like a tide.
"Stop looking, they've all gone far away."
A woman's voice came from behind.
Bae Suzy came out of the convenience store, handed a bottle of mineral water to Jung Do-hoon, and unconsciously glanced at his open collar, profile, and bangs that were ruffled by the wind.
"What are you looking at?" Zheng Daoxun took the mineral water, unscrewed the cap, and took a sip. "Thank you."
Your eyes are practically overflowing with sweetness.
"Is it the same when I look at you?"
Bae Suzy gave a soft hum and turned her face to the other side. Wearing flat shoes, she was half a head shorter than him, and her aura seemed to have lost a bit: "Let's go, this driver is going home."
Bae Suzy pressed the key, and the car lights flashed twice, like eyes suddenly opening in the night.
She opened the driver's side door, and Zheng Daoxun sat in the passenger seat, adjusting the seat back a little, sinking into the leather seat and letting out a long breath.
Good sleep.
Bae Suzy got in and closed the car door.
The convenience store lights were filtered through the car windows, becoming soft and blurry.
The atmosphere in the dimly lit carriage suddenly became quiet.
She didn't rush to start the car; instead, she placed her hands on the steering wheel and gently rubbed it.
Actually, when she saw Jung Do-hoon and Park Ah-jeong walk out together, her heart tightened for a moment, just for a second.
But that moment was really unpleasant.
She sat in the convenience store for over an hour, then saw the person she was waiting for come out with another woman, chatting and laughing.
If Jung Do-hoon hadn't taken the initiative to introduce Bae Soo-ji to Park Ah-jeong, Bae Soo-ji would probably have felt even worse.
It was a feeling of bitterness, anger, and anxiety.
She hadn't felt this way in a long time.
A car drove by in the distance, its headlights sweeping across the windshield and flashing across Bae Suzy's face, illuminating her slightly lowered eyelashes.
"Jung Do-hoon".
"Hmm?" He opened his sleepy eyes.
Why don't you try to fight for it?
Zheng Daoxun turned his head to look at her: "Strive for what?"
"That Assistant Park," Bae Suzy said casually, "is the daughter of a member of parliament, a graduate of Seoul National University, and beautiful. Being with her will surely make everything go smoothly for you, right?"
"So that's what it was about." Jung Do-hoon leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes, and smiled. "How do you know I didn't try?"
Bae Suzy paused for a moment, and she had to admit that she felt a genuine pang of panic: "If you had tried to persuade them, would you have let them call a designated driver themselves?"
"Isn't it because our driver is getting impatient?"
Bae Suzy reached out and lightly punched him.
"Who's your driver?" she said. "I'm a designated driver, I charge by the hour."
"So you're a designated driver again now? Does that mean this Ferrari is mine?" Jung Do-hoon didn't say the joke aloud and let Bae Soo-ji off the hook for the time being.
"I need to hurry home, or I won't be able to pay the bills," Jung Do-hoon chimed in. "Why isn't it running yet?"
"I'll overcharge you for the designated driver fee."
"I don't have any money," Jung Do-hoon asked. "How am I supposed to pay for your designated driver service?"
"Call me Nuna and I won't charge you."
Even though Bae Suzy is slightly taller than Park Ah-jeong, how come he calls Park Ah-jeong "Nun" so skillfully?
Even now, she's still called "Bae Suzy i".
Jung Do-hoon shook his head: "That's different. She's a colleague, Choi Min-jeong's best friend. Calling her 'No' is just politeness. As for you—"
—
"What did you do to me?"
"There's a different meaning behind calling you that."
What could be different?
Actually, both of them knew it.
Bae Suzy paused for a moment, then turned her head and took a deep breath out of the car window, trying to dissipate the burning sensation in her chest and calm down.
She raised her hand to tuck her hair behind her ear, as if trying to hide something.
"You're quite confident," she said.
Why do you say that?
Bae Soo-ji didn't answer, but instead demanded, "Then try shouting it now."
"I already said it has different meanings."
"I can't just make this trip for nothing in the middle of the night, can I? Shout out your name and let me hear it."
The carriage fell silent again.
A faint blue light shone between the two people from the watch face, and a very slight hum came from the air conditioner vent.
"Start the car first," Zheng Daoxun said.
"You go first."
"If you don't start the car, the two of us will sit here until dawn."
"I'll start it when you call me." Bae Suzy took her hands off the steering wheel and made a "you decide" gesture.
Jung Do-hoon sighed helplessly and reached for his seatbelt: "I'm so sleepy."
Just as his fingers touched the buckle, Bae Suzy poked his cheek: "It's such a simple thing, just call me, it won't hurt you."
"I already said it was all just an act, do you expect me to act the same way towards you?" Jung Do-hoon looked at Bae Soo-ji pleadingly, "Please have some understanding of me, I've been working for five days straight."
She wouldn't let Zheng Daoxun sleep. She turned to her side, one hand on the central armrest, the other reaching out to tickle his skin: "I won't let you sleep unless you yell at me."
Unbeknownst to Bae Suzy, her tone suddenly took on a coquettish quality.
"Will calling your name make you gain an extra pound of weight?"
"ah!"
"I'm really ticklish, please don't—"
Zheng Daoxun suddenly stopped.
In the midst of their commotion, he and Bae Suzy found themselves almost face to face.
Two pairs of eyes met, their gazes seemingly drawn together by a magnetic force.
Between their eyelashes, there seemed to be a faint, almost imperceptible, electric current.
They could see each other's eyes tremble briefly.
too close.
Jung Do-hoon even felt that if his Adam's apple moved slightly, his lips would be pulled and touched the other half of his softness.
The camellia scent emanating from her body also overpowered his entire sense of smell.
Pei Xiu could feel his warm breath, slightly tinged with alcohol, and the faint smell of smoke on his body.
She lowered her eyes, her gaze falling on the curve of his lips before quickly looking away.
Her heartbeat suddenly became very loud, so loud that she wasn't sure if he could hear it too.
She could almost feel his pulse beating, overlapping with her own heartbeat, and she couldn't tell whose was faster.
She wanted to back away, but her body wouldn't obey her commands; she froze in place, or perhaps she was unwilling to move.
The words I wanted to say suddenly got stuck in my throat.
Pei Xiu felt her cheeks burning, the heat spreading from her ears all the way down her neck, as if something was burning under her skin.
She bit her lip, feeling that she should say something, as if something was about to burst forth from her heart, take root, sprout, and grow wildly.
There seemed to be a tension in the air, as if something was hanging between the two of them, and they would touch it if they took another step forward, but they couldn't separate, as if they were stuck together.
Another car drove by with its high beams on, blinding the two of them.
Reason returned immediately.
Bae Suzy almost shrank back into the driver's seat, wondering what would have happened if she had kissed him just now.
Dry wood ignites a raging fire; it's ready to be lit at the slightest touch.
There is a high probability that this will happen.
"Let's go, Nuna."

How come there's still one chapter that's only 10,000 words a day? I'm still writing it~
