Chapter 97 How to eat three dinners in two days?

When Jung Do-hoon came out of the bathroom, the hot water had slightly reddened his face, a result of the fatigue he had accumulated throughout the week.

Ya Xian's bath water was indeed too hot, but it unexpectedly relieved her fatigue.

He put on a T-shirt, his hair still wet, and pushed open the door to the room, but then paused for a moment.

Ya Xian was kneeling on his bed, her knees pressing against the mattress, her hands gripping the edge of a new bed sheet, forcefully shaking it open.

Her hair wasn't completely dry yet, damply gathered on one shoulder, with a few strands clinging to her neck. The neckline of her nightgown was a little loose; when she bent over to lay the sheets, the neckline slipped down an inch, revealing a small patch of fair skin on her shoulder.

She was completely unaware, focusing intently on tucking the four corners of the sheet under the mattress one by one.

"Well... is it really necessary to change the sheets now?"

Zheng Daoxun dried his hair with a towel and leaned against the door frame.

Ya Xian didn't even look up: "You don't mind the dirt, but I do."

"I was planning to change it tomorrow."

Ya Xian finished tucking in the last corner, straightened up, knelt on the bed, turned to look at him, her face flushed slightly: "You don't have any other plans for tomorrow, do you?"

"Not at the moment."

"Then watch TV with me."

Zheng Daoxun stopped drying his hair: "Alright, let's go then."

Ya Xian remained kneeling on his bed, showing no intention of moving: "Where are you going?"

"This is my room."

"What happened to your room?" She tilted her head. "Is there something you're ashamed of in your room?"

"State secret".

Ya Xian gave a soft snort, threw the old bed sheet into his arms, and lay down on the bed.

Jung Do-hoon looked down at the old bed sheet in his arms, chuckled helplessly, and threw it into the washing machine.

Ya Xian smelled of the same shower gel as him. The towel hung below her collarbone, but it didn't fit her body very well. Under the warm lighting in the bedroom, the shadows of her breasts and valleys were faintly visible.

Zheng Daoxun took two sips of water, propped up a pillow behind his back, and leaned against the headboard next to her.

The mattress sagged slightly with the weight of the extra person, and Ya Xian slid her body towards him, placing the tablet on Zheng Daoxun's lap and resting her chin gently on his shoulder.

His damp hair hung down, tickling him and making Jung Do-hoon feel unusually hot today.

Ya Xian pressed the play button, and the screen lit up, picking up exactly where they had left off from the last episode they watched.

Zheng Daoxun assumed that Ya Xian had already watched the later episodes by herself. She was recuperating at home alone, and besides scrolling through her phone and watching TV, how could she possibly resist watching the rest of the episodes?

But she actually stopped watching the episode they watched together, as if she had specially reserved this time to wait for him to come back and spend it together.

This discovery was more irresistible to him than any words could express.

The drama's plot was unfolding, the characters on screen were delivering their lines, and the lighting was changing, but Jung Do-hoon's attention was not focused on the story.

His phone started vibrating again.

Zheng Daoxun glanced down and saw that it was Xueyun.

She shared a link to a Spanish cultural exhibition, adding the comment, "This exhibition seems to be related to Spanish language and culture; I plan to check it out."

Zheng Daoxun stared at the message for a moment, but did not reply. He simply turned off the screen and continued watching the show.

Ya Xian glanced at his movements out of the corner of her eye, but said nothing.

Not long after, his phone vibrated again. This time it was from Minatozaki Sana; Jung Do-hoon was looking down when the message popped up.

The preview says:

[Dohoon, are you free tomorrow night?] The text after that was truncated by the system, and he didn't click to read it.

Then came another message, sent by Kim Da-hyun.

Did these two arrange to send text messages together?

Without even looking at the preview, Zheng Daoxun flipped his phone over and placed it face down on the bedside table.

"Why aren't you checking your messages?" Her voice came from beside my shoulder, muffled.

"Unimportant news."

Ya Xian didn't speak. She leaned closer to him, her cheek almost completely pressed against his shoulder.

Her arms wrapped around his elbows, her hands loosely draped over his forearms, like she was hugging a pillow.

The difference is that a body pillow doesn't have a heartbeat.

She could feel the pulse beating gently under his skin on the inside of his arm.

Her knees curled up, pressing against the outside of his thighs. The hem of her pale yellow bath towel spread out, revealing a section of her fair legs. Her manicured toes curled slightly from the cold air from the air conditioner.

Zheng Daoxun covered Ya Xian's legs with the blanket, and Ya Xian silently looked up at him.

The TV series played a quiet dialogue segment. Ya Xian's hair brushed against Zheng Daoxun's neck, the slightly damp ends of her hair feeling cool and itchy, as if something had gently scratched her skin.

Jung Do-hoon subconsciously tilted his head, his chin just touching the top of her head.

He picked up his phone both to reply to messages and because he urgently needed to do something to distract himself.

He reopened the screen, intending to casually browse some news, when a new message popped up at the top. This time it was about Mina.

Ya Xian raised her chin slightly, her gaze passing over Zheng Daoxun's arm and landing on the screen.

Mina's text message was just a screenshot of a densely packed schedule, from Monday to Friday, from morning to night, with each time slot filled with different colored blocks.

Next week will be busy.

In this itinerary, Zheng Daoxun clearly only saw a few words:

Treat me to a meal!

He typed a few words and pressed send:

Is Sunday night okay?

The reply popped up almost instantly:

There's no need to rush; just keep this in mind.

As Jung Do-hoon looked at the words on the screen, a strange feeling welled up inside him, and he smiled unconsciously—he felt much more relaxed.

There are only two days on the weekend. How can we possibly make time to have dinner with three people?

He had just put his phone back on the bedside table and hadn't even had time to adjust his posture when Ya Xian's arm suddenly tightened.

She placed one hand on Zheng Daoxun's thigh, her nails lightly grazing his skin before digging in, creating a slightly painful yet itchy sensation.

"Who messaged you? You seem so happy?"

Zheng Daoxun raised his eyebrows slightly: "Really? It's a state secret."

But Ya-Hsien didn't listen. She just gave a faint "Oh" and said, "Is it Bae Suzy?"

'

"Why do you think it was her?" Jung Do-hoon thought for a moment, then said, "You're the one who told her I was going drinking tonight, right?"

Ya Xian's fingernails unconsciously traced circles on Zheng Daoxun's thigh, lingering along the fabric of his pajama bottoms: "Did she bother you? Looks like you had other plans for tonight—"

"How could that be?" Zheng Daoxun immediately denied.

"So you want someone else to pick you up? Who would it be? Yeji unnie, or Seol-yoon?"

Zheng Daoxun looked down at the slightly bulging blanket beneath him, where Ya Xian's hand was gently pinching the flesh of his thigh.

Ya Xian's tone also carried a hint of dissatisfaction.

"Ya Xian, oh—"

"Um?"

"Move your hand out a little."
