Chapter 40

: Slaying Three Corpses to Prove the Dao? The Merging of Three Corpses into One Fails!

"Ding! Laozi has taken Xuandu as his disciple and has comprehended the key to sainthood. He is about to establish the Human Sect to prove his Dao. Host, do you wish to leave seclusion and stop him?"

Option 1: Accept the mission, successfully prevent Laozi from establishing his religion, and you will receive a reward of Pangu's Primordial Spirit. Remember this website domain.

"Option 2: Refuse the mission and you will receive a Nine-Turn Golden Pill as a reward."

Lin Yang opened his eyes, his eyes filled with endless mystery, and five-colored light emanated from his body.

After receiving the Five Elements Laws passed down from the Primordial Beginning, he made great progress in his understanding of the Five Elements.

But what was bound to happen eventually did happen.

Lao Tzu is about to attain sainthood, and the primordial power is surging forth like a mighty torrent, which is truly unstoppable before he attains sainthood.

Sometimes Lin Yang thought that if he weren't so cowardly, he would go out and explore, wander around.

Would the situation be different now?

Maybe I've already attained enlightenment?

Instead of being stuck in this limbo, neither here nor there.

However, Lin Yang quickly realized that this was actually a sign that his Dao heart was unstable.

Just before he is about to attain enlightenment, there will be these tribulations in his heart that will confuse him and prevent him from achieving perfection in his Dao.

Therefore, one will be unable to successfully attain enlightenment, and in the worst-case scenario, it could even destroy one's own Dao heart.

The most fatal thing is to make oneself unable to attain enlightenment again.

This is also the greatest tribulation for those who aspire to become Grand Luo Golden Immortals; it does not come from anything else, but from their own hearts.

Only when one's heart is firm enough and one's Dao heart is stable and perfect can one cultivate to the state of Hunyuan.

However, there are exceptions, namely sages. Sages attain enlightenment through the primordial purple energy, thus skipping this step and not needing to undergo the tribulation of the Dao heart.

Of course, it's hard to say whether this is good or bad. In Lin Yang's view, experiencing these tribulations of the Dao Heart one after another has tempered his heart, making his heart more and more steadfast.

The gradual refinement of his Dao heart until it becomes perfect and flawless is always of great benefit to him.

"System, I choose option two," Lin Yang said to the system.

I've obtained another Nine-Turn Golden Pill. The last one was given to the Grand Elder for research.

Although they ultimately couldn't deduce the formula for the Nine-Turn Golden Elixir, they still gained a considerable amount of knowledge.

This one will naturally serve the same purpose, and Lin Yang plans to give it to the Grand Elder whenever he has time.

Meanwhile, after Laozi took in Xuandu and comprehended the secret to becoming a saint, he came to the human race and preached the Dao to them.

This lecture lasted for hundreds of years. Based on his alchemy methods, Lao Tzu created what is known as the Golden Elixir Path for humankind.

When Lao Tzu finished his sermon, he opened his eyes, and a vast and profound aura emanated from him.

Within his primordial spirit, the Primordial Purple Qi had gradually been refined.

Lao Tzu stood up, threw the Tai Chi diagram, and instantly it transformed into a golden bridge.

Lao Tzu stepped onto the bridge and shouted to the heavens, "Heaven is above, and I, Lao Tzu, here establish a teaching called the Teaching of Humanity."

"As the leader of the Human Cult, I shall enlighten the human race and use the innate treasure, the Taiji Diagram, to suppress the destiny of the Human Cult."

"Establish the People's Education System!"

Lao Tzu's voice resounded throughout.

"Boom!"

Countless extraordinary phenomena appeared between heaven and earth. Celestial maidens scattered flowers, golden lotuses sprang from the earth, and endless radiance and splendor were breathtaking.

Just like when Nuwa created humans and proved her Dao, it alarmed all the great powers in the primordial world, who all looked towards Laozi's location.

"Boom!"

At this moment, above Lao Tzu's head, surging heavenly merits continuously gathered, forming a huge cloud of merits.

Then the merits fell and continuously flowed into Laozi's body, and Laozi's aura rose steadily.

Like an unstoppable force, it spread in all directions, sweeping across the world.

Moreover, it wasn't just the Heavenly Dao Merit that was being unleashed; as the Heavenly Dao Merit descended, the Creation Merit hidden deep within Laozi's primordial spirit was also triggered.

These two great merits combined are no less than, and may even be more than, the merits that Nuwa gained when she created humans.

"BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!"

Loud sounds, like great drums, emanated from Lao Tzu's body, resounding throughout heaven and earth.

His momentum was rising steadily, seemingly without end.

At this moment, a cloud of auspiciousness appeared above Laozi's head. Above the cloud, chaos and mystery were in the air, with various strange phenomena such as the Taiji, Yin and Yang, the Five Elements, the Three Powers and the Four Symbols appearing. Three large red flowers were swaying in the air.

On the three large red flowers, two figures sat cross-legged on two of them.

These two figures were none other than the good corpse and the evil corpse that Lao Tzu had slain.

At this moment, Laozi revealed the auspicious clouds and the three flowers, precisely to sever his third corpse, which is the self-corpse.

Hongjun's method of severing the three corpses: among the three corpses, good and evil are easy to sever, but the self is difficult to sever.

If you don't understand yourself, how can you sever your ego?

Lao Tzu's eyes grew clearer and more indifferent, just like Hongjun's, as if all emotion had vanished at that moment.

"cut!"

With a soft shout, Laozi made no move, nor did anyone know what kind of magic weapon he used to slay the corpse.

The surging merit flowed into the last flower, and with a bang, a new figure appeared on the red flower.

Lao Tzu severed his third corpse, which was himself.

All three corpses have been severed!

This scene left all the powerful figures on both sides wide-eyed in disbelief.

Is Lao Tzu about to sever the three corpses and prove the Dao?

Of the three methods of attaining enlightenment, the one using force is the strongest, while the one that severs the three corpses, though weak, is still far stronger than the one that uses merit to attain enlightenment.

Originally, when people saw Lao Tzu establishing his teachings and guiding the Way of Heaven to merit, they all thought that Lao Tzu wanted to prove his Way through merit.

But now it seems that Lao Tzu actually used his merits to sever the third corpse, intending to sever the three corpses to prove the Dao?

At this moment, seeing his own corpse also emerge, Lao Tzu smiled.

Immediately afterwards, Lao Tzu continued to press on with the remaining merits, using them to promote the unification of his three corpses, intending to use this to prove the Dao.

However, at that very moment, the smile on Lao Tzu's face gradually disappeared.

Because at this point, no matter how hard he tried, using his immense merit to help his three corpses merge, he simply couldn't do it.

There was a strong sense of repulsion between the three corpses; the more he suppressed them, the stronger this repulsion became.

The three corpses cannot be reunited?

Lao Tzu's face started to look grim. What on earth was going on?

After a while, seeing that the three corpses could not be reunited, Laozi gritted his teeth and had no choice but to give up on slaying the three corpses to prove his Dao. He put away the three corpse incarnations and then did the same as Nuwa.

Prove the Way through merit.

"Boom!"

His merits and attainment of enlightenment proceeded without hindrance, and an immense sage-like pressure erupted from Lao Tzu, sweeping across the heavens and earth.

In an instant, the extraordinary phenomena in the world became even more dazzling, and countless beings were overwhelmed by Lao Tzu's sage aura and knelt down to worship him.

Another sage has emerged between heaven and earth. However, Lao Tzu felt little joy.

He couldn't understand why he couldn't sever his three corpses and attain enlightenment.

After attaining enlightenment, Lao Tzu did not linger. With a swift movement, he put away the Taiji diagram and returned to Kunlun Mountain.
