Chapter 10

I was right, wasn't I!

The stone hit the ground, making a loud noise and kicking up a cloud of dust.

Once the commotion subsided, all that could be heard was a series of heavy, labored breathing sounds.

The two were lying on their backs on the ground, spread-eagled, motionless like dead dogs.

Only his chest was heaving violently.

"Huff~ Huff~"

After taking a deep breath, Kyle began to speak:

"Luffy... Luffy, if you can't hold on next time, you don't have to. There's no need to force yourself. Losing to me isn't shameful!"

"I...I don't want to! But you, Kyle, carrying such a huge rock must be tough. You should just lie down already. Losing to the future Navy King isn't shameful!"

Luffy retorted without backing down.

What a joke! He's a man determined to become the King of the Navy, how could he tolerate being inferior to others?

Although Kyle's physique and strength are now far superior to his.

But he won't admit defeat. He may not be as strong as Kyle for now, but he absolutely cannot lose in terms of perseverance.

The Navy King can only be him!!

"Heh~ You little brat!"

Kyle smiled, a very happy smile.

It can only be said that he truly lives up to his name, Wang Luffy. Once he sets his mind on something, the perseverance and determination he displays are truly beyond the reach of ordinary people.

"Luffy, do you remember what we're supposed to do today?"

Kyle suddenly spoke up and asked.

"Huh?! What do you want?"

Luffy's tone was filled with doubt.

These past few days, all he's done is train, and he's completely forgotten about anything else he needs to do.

"Today is the last day of the agreement you made with your grandfather a week ago!"

"Shouldn't you go and show your grandfather what you've accomplished this week?"

Upon hearing this, Luffy's eyes lit up.

I'm going! I definitely have to go!

He not only wanted to go, but he wanted to go in a very smug and impressive way!

If he could, he would also like to ride on his grandfather's face, point at his nose, and say:

"Old man, look at the training methods you used to employ!"

"Not only are we starving and freezing, but we're also chased by hungry wolves and occasionally experience freefall!"

"Most importantly, the final improvement wasn't particularly noticeable!"

During this week, Luffy could clearly feel that his strength had significantly improved.

The improvement is definitely much greater than what I would have gained by following Garp for a week before.

Moreover, he was well-fed and warmly clothed, and didn't have to be chased by hungry wolves or experience freefall. The only downside was that it was a bit tough.

But Luffy didn't find the hardship unbearable, because Kyle was there to train with him and help him get stronger.

After training, the two often caused trouble at Marine Headquarters... Helping others, with Kyle by his side, Luffy only felt happy and no longer had to be alone as often as before.

Therefore, he will not follow Garp no matter what; he will stay here, in the elite training camp.

He's going to become the King of the Navy!!!

"In that case, let's go find your grandfather now!"

With that, Kyle sprang to his feet.

He is not only physically strong, but also has a strong recovery ability.

Although it was only a short rest, I have already regained some strength.

Besides, he's not the main character going to be; he's just there to watch the show, and he doesn't need to lift a finger.

However, before Luffy could get up, a roar came from not far away.

"No need to come looking for me, I'm here to find you two!!"

Upon hearing this sound, Luffy, who was lying on the ground, was startled and immediately looked in the direction from which the sound came from.

Garp was walking towards them from a short distance away, but his complexion was not good, or rather, it was very bad, as black as charcoal.

"Grandpa...?"

Luffy's voice trembled slightly.

Before meeting Garp, he had imagined countless times how tough he would look when he saw Garp again, but now that Garp was actually in front of him, the fear of Garp ingrained in his bones still affected him.

At that moment, a figure stood between Luffy and Garp, blocking their view with his body.

A faint voice could be heard.

"Luffy! Didn't you say you wanted to become the Marine King? Grandpa's child isn't qualified to be the Marine King!"

"In the end, your grandfather is just a vice admiral. If you become the King of the Navy, then you'll be his direct superior. He'll be afraid of you, not the other way around, understand?"

"Even if you haven't become the King of the Navy yet, as the future King of the Navy, how can you be afraid of a mere vice admiral?"

Kyle used his PUA encouragement technique to confuse Luffy, leaving him completely bewildered, but the light in his eyes grew brighter and brighter.

That's right!

He's a man destined to become the King of the Navy, how could he be afraid of his grandfather? Where would he put his face if word got out?

With that in mind, Luffy immediately got up from the ground, ran to Kale, and fearlessly met Garp's gaze.

Although the fear in his eyes had not completely disappeared, it was almost invisible.

Seeing this, Kyle's lips curled up slightly.

Really? What's there to be afraid of?

He has a clear understanding of his own position and is definitely not someone who will settle down.

It's inevitable that some trouble will arise.

So he needs to find someone to go with him.

When two people are together, they are definitely bolder when doing bad things than when one is alone.

If something goes wrong, there will be someone to help him share the burden.

Luffy was naturally the one he chose.

Then he would naturally have to help Luffy overcome his fear of Garp, otherwise what if something happened and Garp said a few words to him and sold him out?

He certainly didn't want to be betrayed like that.

Just as Kyle was preparing to see how Luffy would refute Garp, Luffy's next words sent a chill down his spine.

"Old man, what are you yelling about? You dare come looking for us when we haven't even come looking for you? Who gave you the guts? Who gave you the right?"

"Trying to look good, huh? Who are you trying to fool with that sour face? Do you think we owe you something?"

The childish voice that came from Luffy's mouth stunned everyone present.

Garp, in particular, looked utterly incredulous, his eyes wide with disbelief.

Is this his grandson? When did his grandson become so powerful?

Behind Luffy, Kyle's expression also stiffened slightly. Why did Luffy's words seem strangely familiar to him?

"Ahem!"

Kyle coughed tactically and whispered to Luffy:

"Luffy, well done, but..."

Before Kyle could finish speaking, Luffy interrupted:

"Speak up!! Are you mute?!"

"Are all vice admirals like you? If so, I really don't know how I'm going to lead this rabble after I become the Navy King!"

After saying that, Luffy turned to look at Kyle, revealing a set of big white teeth, and smiled as he tried to take credit for Kyle's actions.

"How about it, Kyle? I told you so, didn't I?"

Kyle: (⊙o⊙)…
