Chapter 9

Joining the Elite Training Camp

"That's right, that's right, the old man is so old, he shouldn't be neglecting his duties!"

Zephyr pushed aside Sengoku and stood in front of Kyle, staring at him with shining eyes.

Without much preamble, he directly stated his purpose.

"Kyle, join the elite training camp!"

"I will personally train you and make you the strongest navy officer!!"

Zephyr spoke firmly, then looked at Kyle, waiting for his reply.

The atmosphere between the two was silent, and neither of them spoke first.

After a long pause, Kyle finally answered:

"I can join the elite training camp, but I need my freedom!"

"In other words, I might go to sea and not necessarily stay at Marine Headquarters forever!"

"What?! Going out to sea?!"

Before Zephyr could even speak, Sengoku jumped up on the other side.

He walked up to Kyle and slapped him on the head.

However, Kyle, who already had a lot of experience, had anticipated this scene using his Observation Haki, which allows him to dodge in advance and avoid Sengoku's slap.

"No! Absolutely not!!"

"You little brat, how old are you to want to go out to sea? Do you know how dangerous the ocean is?"

"No, I absolutely disagree!!"

During the Warring States period, a man with a puffed-out beard and glared.

However, Kyle merely glanced at him indifferently without answering him, instead turning his gaze to Zephyr, awaiting his reply.

Zefa remained silent for a long time.

In principle, this requirement is not allowed; there has never been such a precedent in the elite training camp.

But the bottom line can be approached with some flexibility.

There has never been a Navy officer who joined an elite training camp at the age of six before.

Considering Kyle's almost superhuman talent, these demands don't seem to be a big problem.

and so--

"Okay, I agree!"

Zefa nodded.

A slight smile appeared on Kyle's lips.

"Then I'll be counting on you to take care of me from now on, Professor Zephyr!!"

Joining the elite training camp would be entirely beneficial for Kyle.

Because that issue has already been resolved by Kyle.

With Zefa's personal training as a guarantee, his physical potential can be developed to a greater extent.

Zefa's many years of teaching experience are not just empty words.

Kyle's desire for freedom stems from his system.

Now that he has awakened the system, he has gained some understanding of it.

By issuing various missions to recruit geniuses, he can receive corresponding system rewards as long as he successfully recruits a genius into the Navy.

There are two trigger conditions for the mission. One is to encounter some geniuses in this world. The system will sense this and then issue a corresponding recruitment mission.

Just like Luffy before.

Another type is random posting. The system may randomly post recruitment missions, and the mission target may not be around. In this case, he needs to find the mission target and recruit him into the navy.

Therefore, a high degree of freedom is essential.

Otherwise, if a mission to recruit geniuses suddenly comes up, and he is restricted to the Navy Headquarters, that would definitely not work.

Nothing is more important than recruiting geniuses!!

Having tasted the sweetness of the reward for recruiting Luffy, Kyle is now very much looking forward to the reward for the next recruitment mission.

Oh, right, Luffy!!

Suddenly, Kyle remembered Luffy still lying there, looked up at Zephyr and said:

"Zeff-sensei, Luffy wants to join the elite training camp too!"

"Who is Luffy?!"

"Look, that's the one lying over there, Vice Admiral Garp's grandson!"

"He's my brother, and I promised I'd take him with me wherever I go!"

Kyle just blurted it out.

"Um……"

Zefa pondered for a moment, then agreed without much hesitation:

"Okay! No problem, then let him join the elite training camp with you!"

Since we've already hired a kid, one more won't make a difference.

However, what Zephyr didn't know was that the two kids he recruited today would become his two proudest students in the future.

But that's a story for another time!

Now that Kyle has received Zephyr's answer, he turns his gaze to Luffy, who is still fast asleep on the other side.

Silently recite it in your mind.

"Luffy, look how good your brother is to you! I never forget to include you in anything good. When you wake up, it wouldn't be right if you didn't kowtow to me a few times!"

Luffy: ? ? ?

Standing to the side, Sengoku, seeing the two completely ignoring him, could no longer hold back and roared:

"No!! I disagree!"

"I disagree with Kyle joining the elite training camp, and I also disagree with you going to sea!!"

However, his shout only drew a sidelong glance from Kyle and Zephyr, who then spoke simultaneously:

"Who cares about you?!"

Warring States Period: !!!

……

-

"Huffing and puffing..."

Heavy breathing echoed across the training ground as Luffy, carrying a boulder several times his own size, did push-ups.

Large beads of sweat kept sliding down his forehead.

My arms trembled every time I went down and came up.

He felt as if his arm no longer belonged to him, and waves of numbness washed over him.

But Luffy had no intention of giving up, simply because he cared about his reputation.

Beside him, there was another rock that was constantly undulating, but this rock was much larger than the one on Luffy's body.

It's at least ten times the size of his, and at first glance it looks like a small hill.

Beneath this rock, Kyle was also doing push-ups.

His current situation is not much better than Luffy's.

His face flushed red, and beads of sweat dripped from his face onto the yellow earth below, where they quickly evaporated.

The stones they carried were chosen by Zefa based on an assessment of their physiques, selecting the most suitable size for them.

So both of them are now on the edge of their limits, but neither of them has stopped first.

Both of them were holding their breath and unwilling to lose to the other.

This is what makes them keep persisting.

Under a tree on the other side, Zefa watched the two with satisfaction.

I'm so glad I made the right decision to accept them as my partners.

Especially Kyle.

Despite possessing extraordinary talent, they are incredibly hardworking and self-disciplined.

I came to find him before dawn.

As for Luffy Zephyr, he was quite satisfied with him as well.

Although his physique wasn't as freakish as Kyle's, it was still much stronger than other children his age.

He also discovered that Luffy's potential was not weak either, and with proper training, he could become a future admiral.

Moreover, the effect of these two little guys training together is definitely better than training one person alone.

Neither side wants to fall before the other, so they persevere longer and fully tap into their own potential.

After the two persisted for a while longer, Zephyr roared at them:

"Okay, stop for a second!!"

Upon hearing this, the eyes of the two people under the stone lit up, and a powerful force inexplicably surged from the depths of their bodies.

He bent his arm down, then suddenly came up.

The immense inertia caused the rocks behind them to briefly lift off the ground.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, the two lay on the ground and rolled to the side, avoiding the falling boulder.

Rumbling--
