Chapter 508 Extra Chapter 2: About Everyone's Childhood

When we were all little.

The Shen family celebrates the New Year.

"Mom, I want to go play with my brother and Zheng Ge," Qin Leyan whispered.

Shen Shilan squatted down and looked at the little one in front of her: "Then you promise not to be naughty or mischievous, and to be well-behaved."

"it is good."

"Pinky promise." Shen Shilan held out her hand.

Qin Leyan made a pinky promise with her, then ran upstairs to call Shen Yanzhou, and together they went to find Zhuang Yanzheng.

"How about I secretly follow them?" Qin Chengyuan said, watching his daughter and nephew walk out the door.

“You’re keeping watch during work hours and after get off work, so you should take a break,” Shen Shilan said. “After your daughter pulled up a row of saplings in front of someone’s house last time, she hasn’t caused any trouble for three months. She’s been quite well-behaved.”

“My daughter has always been very well-behaved,” Qin Chengyuan said. “She was just young and thought that the saplings could be pulled up and wanted to plant them in our yard. Besides, that family was using the saplings to take up land outside, so it was good that they pulled them up.”

Shen Shilan glanced at him: "It's wrong of that family to take up land outside their property. Even if Lele doesn't pull it up, someone else will. But one thing is one thing. Pulling up other people's trees is wrong of our daughter. If we don't take care of her now and don't teach her, who knows what she might do in the future."

"I already took charge," Qin Chengyuan said.

"How do you manage things?" Shen Shilan asked, looking at him.

"I told her that if she does this again, I will take away her right to train every day," Qin Chengyuan said.

Shen Shilan snorted coldly.

"Stop flirting downstairs, one of you come up and play chess with me," Shen Jun called from upstairs.

"Okay," Qin Chengyuan replied.

Meanwhile, Qin Leyan, who was in charge of the dealership, was secretly "climbing walls and scaling rooftops".

The owner has a three-meter-high glass greenhouse, which is a few meters away from the villa.

Qin Leyan, Zhuang Yanzheng, and Shen Yanzhou were discussing how to climb up to the greenhouse.

Using a ladder was definitely out of the question, as it would easily attract attention, so the three of them decided to climb over from the second floor of the villa.

From the second floor, I climbed up the courtyard wall, and little by little, I climbed up to the glass greenhouse.

It was New Year's Day, and the weather was cold, but the greenhouse was warmed by the sun.

The area above had just been cleaned, and the three of them lay down on it, looking down at the flowers inside the greenhouse.

"Brother, what kind of flower is that?" Qin Leyan asked.

"I don't know him," Shen Yanzhou said.

“I don’t know him either,” Zhuang Yanzheng said.

“That flower isn’t pretty, let’s not get to know it,” Qin Leyan said.

"Okay," Zhuang Yanzheng and Shen Yanzhou replied in unison.

"I'll go tell my mom in a bit that we shouldn't keep this flower anymore," Zhuang Yanzheng said.

"Okay." Qin Leyan smiled. "Then let's go somewhere else to see the flowers."

The three of them moved to another spot to lie down and look at the flowers.

After admiring the flowers, the three children were about to descend from the greenhouse when Qin Leyan suddenly said, "Let's just jump down."

Zhuang Yanzheng and Shen Yanzhou looked at her.

Qin Leyan said, "Brother, do you dare?"

"Of course I dare."

"Brother Zheng, do you dare?"

“What’s there to be afraid of?” Zhuang Yanzheng said.

Then the three of them stood on the edge of the sunroom, looking at each other.

"I'll go first." Qin Leyan said, swinging his arm as he was about to jump down, but Zhuang Yanzheng and Shen Yanzhou grabbed him.

"What are you three doing!" Zhuang Yihao shouted from the first floor, startling the three of them who quickly crouched down, trying to hide.

But the glass greenhouse offered no place to hide.

Zhuang Yihao quickly ran out, and the family's driver and nanny also ran out.

When Yan Zhiqing saw the three of them above the greenhouse, her head buzzed and her legs went weak for a moment.

"Don't move! Don't move! Don't move!" Yan Zhiqing said as she ran, afraid that the three of them would fall.

The driver quickly set up a ladder.

The three of them shrank back as they watched Zhuang Yihao climb the ladder.

"Where are you going? Come here quickly, I'll carry you downstairs," Zhuang Yihao said. "Come here, Lele, Uncle will carry you downstairs."

Qin Leyan dared not step forward.

Yan Zhiqing also said, "Yan Zheng, come down quickly. Yan Zhou, Auntie made your favorite pastries, come over quickly."

“Then you can’t hit us,” Zhuang Yanzheng said.

"Why would I hit you if not you?" Zhuang Yihao said. "Come down quickly, I'll take you to buy some good food."

"Really not going to fight?" Shen Yanzhou asked.

"I really won't fight."

The three, who had never experienced the wickedness of human nature, stepped forward and were carried away by Zhuang Yihao.

The three of them had just stood firm on the ground.

Zhuang Yanzheng and Shen Yanzhou were beaten up.

Zhuang Yihao had always treated Shen Yanzhou like his own son, so he didn't hesitate to beat him.

Qin Leyan wasn't hit, but he was held by Yan Zhiqing and forced to watch the whole thing from the sidelines.

When Zhuang Yanzheng started crying, Qin Leyan started crying too, and Shen Yanzhou also started crying.

Qin Leyan wasn't hit, but he was quite frightened.

After the fight, the Shen and Qin families were notified.

Then, when Shen Shilan learned that they were going to jump down again, she smacked Qin Leyan twice on the butt.

The farmer quickly sealed off the second-floor balcony during the Lunar New Year holiday and also took some measures to protect the courtyard wall, worried that the three of them might not be satisfied with their failed attempt and would try to jump again next time.

"Brother, are you alright?" Qin Leyan asked Shen Yanzhou.

"It's nothing," Shen Yanzhou said.

"But you were crying so hard just now," Qin Leyan asked.

"Didn't you teach me to cry more pitifully to gain their sympathy so they wouldn't have the heart to hurt me?" Shen Yanzhou said softly.

Qin Leyan smiled secretly.

The adults eavesdropping outside shook their heads and smiled helplessly.

“Let’s go, let’s go tell Grandpa,” Qin Leyan said.

"Walk."

The adults who were listening outside the door quickly dispersed.

Shen Jun said, "She still has the nerve to complain. If she had actually jumped down then, all three of them would have been gone."

Xia Ye said, "Anyway, you'll definitely be the one who gets scolded in the end."

Shen Jun sighed, "I'll go hide at my father-in-law's house for a while."

On the afternoon of the first day of the Lunar New Year.

"Lele, your uncle will take you to play," Shen Jun said.

"Where are you going?" Qin Leyan had been playing with a toy gun in the living room for a while. Hearing Shen Jun call her, she ran over with the gun in her hand. "To the orphanage, to deliver New Year's gifts to some of the older brothers, sisters, younger brothers, and younger sisters," Shen Jun said.

"Is brother going?" Qin Leyan asked.

“He’s going to his maternal grandparents’ house, so he won’t be going,” Shen Jun said.

"Isn't Uncle going to my brother's maternal grandparents' house?"

“I just went there yesterday, I’ll go again tonight,” Shen Jun said. “Go get dressed, let’s go.”

"Okay." Qin Leyan put down the toy gun in his hand, went upstairs to change his clothes, and followed Shen Jun out the door.

We arrived at the Sunshine Welfare Home.

The dean received Shen Jun.

Shen Jun brought several cartloads of things and had them unloaded. Qin Leyan held Shen Jun's thumb and followed him into the orphanage.

From the activity area to the accommodation area, we arrived at the canteen.

Qin Leyan looked at the children who were younger than him, older than him, and about the same age as him.

Shen Jun had sent someone over before the New Year to deliver some food and clothing. This time, he came to check on how things were going before the New Year and to deliver some more things.

Suddenly, a child started crying, and Qin Leyan craned his neck to look in the direction of the sound.

Shen Jun also looked over.

The director said, "This is our youngest child here. He's had a bit of a cold these past few days and has been crying a lot."

The staff member taking care of the child led her over by the hand.

The little girl's crying subsided when she saw the strangers, and she looked at them with intermittent sobs.

Shen Jun looked at the little girl, then at Qin Leyan.

He noticed that the little girl looked very much like Qin Leyan.

Qin Leyan took a lollipop from his snack bag, unwrapped it, and gave it to the little girl: "Here you go."

The little girl looked at her, paused, and then took it.

Qin Leyan smiled and asked, "What's your name?"

The little girl glanced at the staff member next to her.

The staff member said, "Her name is Miaomiao."

"My name is Lele," Qin Leyan said.

The little girl looked at her timidly, hiding half of her body behind the staff member without saying a word.

The staff played with Miaomiao and Lele.

Shen Jun and the dean walked to the side.

The director said, "This little girl was abandoned at the gate of the orphanage. She was just born when we found her. We reported it to the police, but we couldn't find her birth mother, so we've been raising her here ever since. The child is very healthy. In the past two years, there have been people who wanted to adopt her, since she's so young and doesn't remember much, but none of them really met the adoption requirements."

“They are all pitiful children,” Shen Jun said.

Qin Leyan and Miaomiao played together, and she shared all her snacks with her, but she didn't talk much.

The older children at the orphanage are helping to move things.

The older boy was carrying a stack of clothes when he tripped and fell while going up the steps, his knees hitting the steps.

Qin Leyan immediately ran over.

A staff member brought Miaomiao over and asked, "Where did you fall? Is your knee okay?"

The boy looked up at them, then shook his head: "It's nothing."

Qin Leyan picked up the clothes from the ground one by one.

The boy picked them up too.

After picking them all up, the boy was about to take them from her, but Qin Leyan took the one from his hand instead: "Don't move it, I'll move this over there."

"Do you know where it is?" the boy asked.

"I'll just go with them," Qin Leyan said. "You don't need to move, just rest here."

After she finished speaking, she grabbed her clothes and left with the others.

The boy watched her retreating figure.

After a while, Qin Leyan ran back.

The staff had just finished examining the boy's knee: "His knee is fine, there's no broken skin."

"Does it hurt a lot?" Qin Leyan asked.

The boy shook his head.

Qin Leyan gently touched his knee through his pants: "Rubbing it will make it feel better."

"Thank you," the boy said.

"You're welcome." Qin Leyan smiled, and after a while, gave the boy a piece of candy. "Here, it's delicious."

"Thank you," the boy said again.

Qin Leyan sat next to the boy.

Miaomiao was a little fussy, so the staff took her to bed.

Qin Leyan and the boy sat on small stools, watching everyone move things.

"Here, have this too." Qin Leyan handed him another cheese stick.

The boy looked at her and said, "Is that a treasure chest you brought?"

Qin Leyan smiled and said, "My uncle gave it to me. He said he wanted to share it with his friends."

The boy smiled and said, "Let me show you around. The sun won't be able to reach here soon, it will get cold."

"Okay." Qin Leyan followed him.

From the front of the building to the back, play here for a while, play there for a while.

Qin Leyan carried a small bag and handed out snacks to any children he encountered.

After finishing distributing them, they went to Shen Jun again to pack another batch and continued distributing them.

As the sun began to set and Shen Jun prepared to leave, Qin Leyan, the boy, and several little girls were running and playing.

Shen Jun called to her, but she refused to leave.

"Lele, let's go. We'll come back in a while," Shen Jun said.

"Is it really possible to come again?" Qin Leyan asked.

"How about your uncle brings you along every time he comes to visit from now on?" Shen Jun said.

"Okay." Qin Leyan said goodbye to the boy and the other children. "I'll go home first and come back later. Brother Xie, you like this candy, so you can have it all. I'll bring you more next time."

"Okay. Next time you come, we'll play again."

"Okay." Qin Leyan grabbed Shen Jun's thumb, waving to several children as they walked. After getting into the car, she said, "Uncle, that older brother is very nice and smart. He has a photographic memory."

"Really?" Shen Jun said with a smile, "Even more capable than you?"

"Of course, they're a bit worse than me."

Shen Jun laughed even louder.

"Uncle, when will you come next time?" Qin Leyan asked.

Shen Jun looked at her, thought for a moment, and said, "Come back when it gets warmer."

"Okay. Uncle, you're so kind."

"Is it better for me or your dad?"

Qin Leyan pretended not to hear, looked at his empty snack bag, then looked out the car window and hummed a children's song.
