Chapter 245
Interlude 245: Final Boss
Interlude 245: Final Boss (Bonus chapter coming at midnight)
Deep underground in the abandoned hospital, Yuria held a whetstone and scraped the blade of her scythe.
The only word to describe his experience during this period was "magical".
From being awakened from the ice coffin to guarding the Tower of Venn, until the court completely collapsed, the dramatic turn of events took only one night.
He then followed Thomas's clone like a headless fly, trying to find a place to stay in the turbulent undercurrents of Gotham.
But what happened? The clone successfully avenged the original, but was then shot and killed by a tycoon assassin who arrived at the scene, leaving him, an ancient relic from centuries ago, to face this strange and cold world.
Until Derek Powers approached him.
This Rothschild family financial advisor is the current honorary chairman of the Jewish Union. Although he is not a member of the court, he has close ties with it, which is why Uriah was willing to sit down and listen to him say a few words.
"My friend, a perfect job is now in front of you. Go to Star City and bring back all the owners of this 'Robin Hood' account. I've already assembled a team, we just need a leader and a combat specialist."
"I will not serve anyone other than members of the court."
"Your loyalty is touching, and Jews have always valued loyal partners, so I've offered you a second option."
Derek said calmly, "In Star City, you will meet someone you are worthy of serving. You can change your plans to serve him, or you can stick to the original plan. The choice is yours."
Derek said this because the Knight of Judgment had not infringed on the interests of the Rothschild family; he was merely representing the Jewish financial group in negotiations with these villains.
No matter which way the plot unfolds in the end, he can profit from it.
If Uriah brings "Robin Hood" back, Naderic will receive a 10% commission on the stolen amount. If Uriah chooses to help the Star City court, he will short-sell all the Star City companies he owns before the situation in Star City becomes turbulent.
This shrewd Jew calculated that whichever path Uriah chose, the result would bring him a huge profit of approximately $50 billion.
Chaos and war are the best opportunities to make money; this wisdom is a treasure left to future generations by the Jewish ancestors.
To make money, Jewish merchants were even willing to hold a knife to the neck of their compatriots. After all, the person who exchanged a loaf of bread for 50 marks in Germany and the person who was eventually thrown into the gas chamber were likely not the same person.
Back to the present, behind the rusted iron gate, footsteps approach from afar.
Yuria put away the whetstone and carried the giant scythe on his shoulder.
He lacked the keen perception of someone with Mr. Freeze and was unaware that the newcomer was the mastermind behind the downfall of Gotham's courtroom. He simply wanted to continue being a mindless dog of the court.
But Qin Wei recognized this guy, so when he pushed the door open, he instinctively gasped.
"Shift! It's this guy!"
"You survived those three robots, so you're qualified to be my opponent."
Yuria slammed his scythe heavily into the ground, and in the swirling dust, the immense pressure emanating from this final boss was vividly displayed.
Qin Wei glanced at the composite bow in his hand, and a question lingered in his mind.
"I know I'll most likely die at your hands, so in my final moments, can you satisfy my curiosity, like what secrets this hospital holds, or who you work for?"
He habitually stalled for time with words, but Yuraik wasn't the kind of person with compassion like Mr. Freeze, and didn't give him a single moment to observe and catch his breath.
Before he could finish speaking, his opponent charged forward, wielding a sickle.
Ding!
A crisp sound rang out, and sparks flew everywhere!
The sickle clashed with the composite bow, and Qin Wei was knocked back half a step. A clear scratch appeared on the composite bow. But to his surprise, even with his wounded body, he no longer seemed as helpless as he had been when he first faced Yuria.
In fact, Wei's fighting experience has been improving all along. From his initial encounter with the fake bat in the alley to his fierce battle with Deathstroke in the warehouse, the speed at which he has accumulated experience can be described as terrifying.
Hugo Strange certainly deserves credit, but Bruce Wayne's learning talent and exceptionally sharp mind are even more to blame.
Even with his disabled body, Bruce Wayne still had the energy to teach himself seven languages during the more than ten years he traveled the world with Alfred. From criminal psychology to sociology to criminal investigation and psychological profiling, Bruce could easily obtain multiple professional degrees if he wanted to.
After exchanging a few blows with his opponent, Yuria recognized him from his moves, and a mix of resentment and anger welled up inside her.
Of course, he also witnessed Wei's terrifying rate of growth.
It had only been a few days since their first major battle, but the opponent he once had in the bag had now become someone he needed to take seriously.
"I absolutely cannot let you continue living in this world!"
Uriah roared and ripped off the long robe that covered his entire body.
With her body, which had been eroded by the Dionysian factor to the point of being almost inhuman, exposed to the air, Yuria frantically swung her scythe around her torso, transforming into a 360-degree, no-dead-angle human flesh-cutting machine.
Suddenly, a fierce wind swept through the basement. Fine, sharp blade shadows appeared and disappeared in the dim light.
Qin Wei tried to fight back, but his relatively sturdy composite bow was shredded into pieces as soon as it made contact with the blade. Without a suitable weapon, he was forced to dodge.
However, Yuria managed to keep up with her opponent while maintaining a high frequency of attacks. The two chased each other in the underground space, leaving a mess in their wake.
The concrete pillars supporting the ceiling were reduced to rubble and dust by the sickle. The ceiling shook violently and then crashed down, gradually shrinking Qin Wei's escape space.
All Qin Wei could do was throw out everything he could find, trying to stop this high-speed meat grinder.
Desktop computer, folders, and a bread maker.
A farcical scene is unfolding in what was once a hospital office; this is no longer a battle.
Qin Wei's gaze fell on the few oxygen cylinders covered in cobwebs in the corner.
"This is a really good thing!"
With quick reflexes, he picked up the cylinder and threw it away.
Unsurprisingly, the cylinder was shredded into pieces amidst the shower of sparks.
It turned out to be empty!
However, this is not a big deal. Yuria is obviously in a killing frenzy and will cut down anything in sight. As long as one of these bottles contains enough oxygen, Qin Wei can turn the tide.
"Die—die!!!! Your blood will be used to sacrifice to the gods, and your head will become a offering to the court!"
"Sacrifice your ass!"
Uriah's act of opening champagne at halftime infuriated Qin Wei.
He never thought he would lose. The mortal body was indeed weak and powerless in front of the enhanced body, but he was not fighting alone.
When Michael Faraday used the MRI machine to wipe out the mass-produced mechs, he gave him a push from behind, and now he is preparing to pray fervently to Joseph Priestley.
Greatness has never come from gods, but from humankind.
"Blow it up!"
He threw the last oxygen cylinder, and a spark ignited the pressurized oxygen inside, setting off an angry explosion on Uriah.
