Chapter 13

Why didn't the giant dragon Didin turn green?

It's green!

Princess Sophia's white hair has turned green; not completely green, but a small portion of it has.

Head Maid Emily stared in disbelief at Sophia's white hairs that had turned green.

Anna, dressed in blue and gold knight's casual clothes, quickly walked up behind Sophia and touched Sophia's white hair that had turned green.

Vital energy...

The white hair, now turning green, emanated a faint life force.

It was that piece of tree root.

The tree roots, brimming with vital energy, are nourishing Sophia's body.

The life force within the egg-sized tree root cube was enough to cause this strange change in Sophia's body.

If Sophia were to eat all the tree roots that were as long as an adult's arm, what changes would occur to her body?

"Ptooey... No, I can swallow the sap from the tree roots, but I really can't eat the chewed roots, they're too rough on my throat."

Sophia spat the chewed tree root onto a clean plate, her face showing pain. The dragon Diding hadn't wasted a single bit of the root; she could only swallow the juice and tried to swallow the scraps.

It pierces the throat.

Moreover, she suspected that her stomach might not be able to digest the residue.

I want to eat, but I can't swallow it.

I want to throw it away, but I'm afraid of wasting it.

"Emily, what did you just say about green? I think I heard you say my head is green, how could my head be green? Are you sure you didn't see wrong?"

The head maid Emily didn't reply. She took a makeup mirror out of her pocket and placed it in front of Sophia. Anna then picked up Sophia's green hair and shook it in the mirror.

"Huh? Half white hair and half green hair, it actually looks quite nice." Sophia smiled and complimented the half-white, half-green hair in the mirror, then suddenly exclaimed, shoving the makeup mirror in front of her eyes, "This...this is my hair?!"

"What happened to my hair?!"

"Life energy, a rich life energy materialized, turning the small amount of white hair on His Highness's head into a 'vibrant' emerald green."

"Huh? No...it can't be that bad, can it?"

Isn't this explanation a bit far-fetched?

Upon hearing Anna's explanation, Sophia thought of the dragon Destin.

The dragon Destin eats these tree roots as a daily staple, yet he never turns into a green dragon.

She had only eaten such a small piece, and had just drunk the sap from the tree root, yet a small section of her white hair had turned emerald green.

"Your Highness, emerald green is the color of life energy manifested. Think about the powerful plant-based mages you encountered in the capital; weren't their hair green?"

Sophia recalled that it seemed that the powerful plant-based mages in the capital did indeed have green hair.

Tree roots that could be used as food by the dragon Destin are indeed extraordinary.

"Your Highness, have you noticed any changes in your body?"

"Changes?" Sophia felt around for a moment. "Nothing much has changed, it just feels warm."

When she was changing clothes before, she touched her body and felt that it was a little cool, but she doesn't feel that way now.

Upon hearing Sophia's description, Anna's face showed a thoughtful expression.

It feels warm... This means that the life force in the tree roots is nourishing Princess Sophia's body.

The tree root that Princess Sophia brought out from the dream world is indeed extraordinary; the life energy it contains is probably comparable to diluted "Water of Life."

The Elven Royal Court has a spring called the Fountain of Life, and the water of life can only be obtained from the Elven Royal Court.

Some people, after obtaining the Water of Life, will dilute it and then sell it at a high price.

But His Highness paid a heavy price.

It seems they were cursed by a giant dragon in their dream world.

Blue-purple dragon scales appeared on his chest.

"Tree roots must be good stuff. You two shouldn't just look at them, sit down and eat with me."

Anna and Emily exchanged a glance. One put away the makeup mirror, and the other let down Sophia's hair. Anna sat down to Sophia's left, and Emily sat down to Sophia's right.

Sofia started eating on her own, finishing more than a dozen pieces before putting down her knife and fork, feeling a bit too full to eat anymore.

My cheeks hurt from chewing so much.

"Anna, cut the rest of the tree root in half. Keep one piece for me, and give the butler a piece of the remaining piece so he can replenish his life force."

"clear."

"And also, don't throw away these scraps from your plate, bury them in the garden."

"Um."

10:00 AM, first-floor living room.

Sofia sat on the sofa and met with the official in charge of agriculture in the North.

The official in charge of agriculture in the North was named Connor Grant, and he was a middle-aged man.

Brown hair, square face, and somewhat dark skin.

"Greetings, Your Highness."

"Please sit down, Minister Connor. Did you bring all the seeds I asked you to bring?"

"I brought them all. I brought watermelon, strawberry, tomato, potato, and sunflower seeds, and I also brought a few apple saplings. I've already given them all to Knight Anna."

Sophia nodded; these seeds and apple saplings were what she had prepared for the dragon, Destin.

Regardless of whether the dragon Destin can grow these seeds, let's give them to the dragon Destin first.

"Minister Connor, I have another question for you: what's the difference between crops grown on fertilized land and crops grown on unfertilized land?"

"The difference is huge. Let me give you an example, Your Highness. The church's land is fertilized, and by autumn, the crops in the church's land grow as tall as a person. On the other hand, most of the land cultivated by ordinary people is not fertilized, and the crops that grow are only half a person tall and sparse. There is no comparison at all."

"Oh, I understand. I'll find a way to improve this situation. I'll strive to make the Northern Territory comparable to the Flower Language Plain!"

"....."

Connor's lips twitched. Princess Sophia was talking in her sleep.

The Flower Language Plain has fertile land, two seasons a year, and flat terrain. The northern border is mountainous and densely forested, and no matter how much it develops, it can never catch up with the Flower Language Plain.

Moreover, the Northern Territory has to purchase food from the Flower Language Plains every year just to barely avoid famine.

"That's all, Minister Connor, go ahead and get back to work. I'll contact you again if anything comes up."

"Yes."

Connor got up and left.

Sophia watched Connor leave, then found Anna and gave her thirty gold coins, asking her to go into town to buy some pigs for her, have them roasted, and deliver them to the castle before dark.

"Oh, and if you have any piglets, chicks, or calves, buy some too; I need them."

Anna took the gold coins without asking Sophia what she was going to do with them.

She could guess roughly that these things were probably prepared for the dragon in her dream.

It seems... Princess Sophia will enter that dangerous dream world again after she falls asleep tonight.

"Your Highness, is there any way for me to enter that dream world with you?"

No.

She didn't enter a dream world, but hell.

Hell is far more dangerous than any dream world.

If her soul hadn't happened to fall into the territory of the dragon Diding, it would probably have been devoured by the monsters of hell long ago.
