Chapter 661
Leaving an informant!
Blinded by greed, the surrounding smugglers roared and swarmed forward, their machetes, steel pipes, and pistols raining down on Lynn and his team. The incredibly fast mutant bodyguard flashed through the crowd like a ghost, instantly reaching one of the team members. His dark fist, carrying a powerful gust of wind, struck the member in the chest before he could react. The member was sent flying like a kite with a broken string, crashing heavily into the ship's wall, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
"Damn it!" Lynn's eyes widened in fury. He raised his hand and fired at the mutant bodyguard, but the bodyguard easily dodged, and the bullet struck a smuggler behind him. The mutant bodyguard turned around, his cold eyes locking onto Lynn, and said in a hoarse voice, "You're in the way, I'll deal with you first!"
Outside the port, the gangsters and smugglers who had been loitering had now gathered around, crowding behind the containers on the shore, peering and watching. Some whispered amongst themselves, some clenched their fists nervously, and others stared greedily at the chaos on the ship, but no one dared to take a single step forward—everyone knew that with federal agents and Verus's men locked in a shootout, going forward meant certain death.
"Watch out behind you!" Jason's shout had barely faded when a machete came hurtling towards Lynn's back. Lynn ducked sharply, the machete grazing his back, drawing blood, and a searing pain instantly spread. He spun around, his elbow slamming into the smuggler's abdomen, causing the man to wince in pain. Lynn then kicked the man's wrist, a sharp crack echoing as the machete flew from his hand, accompanied by the smuggler's agonizing scream.
"Captain, I can't hold them off!" A team member's voice was urgent. His arm was slashed, and blood was flowing down his fingertips, but he still gripped his gun tightly, desperately resisting the attack of the two smugglers.
Lynn caught a glimpse of it out of the corner of his eye, raised his hand, and shot one of the smugglers in the shoulder, yelling at the team member, "Hold on! Jason, go get him!"
"Roger!" Jason responded, taking down the enemy next to him with two quick shots. He then rushed towards his teammate, his gun firing precisely, forcing the smugglers who were surrounding him to retreat. "Hold on, I'm coming!"
The mutant bodyguard had already taken down two team members and was rushing towards Lynn at breakneck speed, leaving only a blur in his wake. Lynn gripped his pistol tightly, his eyes fixed on him, his fingertip on the trigger, ready to fire at any moment. "You think you can stop me?" Lynn's voice was hoarse, yet filled with undeniable determination. Blood was still seeping from the wound on his arm, dripping onto the deck and spreading into small bloodstains.
“Kill you, and the boss can leave safely.” The mutant bodyguard didn’t waste any words, rushing towards Lynn, his fist slamming down with a chilling force. Lynn dodged to the side, the fist grazing his chest, sending a shiver down his spine. He seized the opportunity to kick the mutant’s knee, but the mutant leaped up to avoid it. At the same time, the mutant’s elbow slammed into Lynn’s forehead.
Lynn ducked sharply, his elbow grazing the mutant's head. He instinctively raised his hand, pressed the pistol against the mutant's side, and pulled the trigger without hesitation. "Bang!" The bullet pierced the mutant's abdomen, black blood splattering onto Lynn's face, carrying a pungent, fishy stench.
The mutant bodyguard grunted, staggering back a few steps, but didn't fall. His eyes remained cold as he charged at Lynn again. "Madman!" Lynn cursed under his breath, dodging to the side and firing again, hitting the bodyguard in the other leg.
On deck, gunshots, screams, the clanging of metal, and roars mingled together, the salty smell of seawater, the stench of blood, and the acrid odor of diesel fuel mingling and permeating the entire port of La Ceva. Lynn and his team were covered in wounds, but none of them flinched. Every strike they made was with their full strength—they knew that every second they held on increased their hope of capturing Verus, and increased their chances of bringing justice to the families ravaged by drugs.
Marcus watched his men fall one after another, a hint of panic flashing in his eyes, but he still forced a roar: "All of you, charge! Anyone who backs down, I'll kill them!" As he shouted, he fired at Lynn, but Lynn easily dodged the bullet, which struck the cabin door, leaving a deep bullet hole.
Lynn charged toward Marcus, his eyes blazing with fury: "Marcus, you aided and abetted evil, sold drugs, and killed so many people. Today, you should pay the price!"
Marcus's face paled, and he instinctively took a step back, gripping his shotgun tightly. His voice trembled slightly as he said, "Don't come any closer! I'm telling you, Mr. Verus won't let you get away with this, and neither will Lord Karen!"
“They’re all in dire straits!” Lynn sneered, raising his hand to fire, striking Marcus in the wrist. The shotgun clattered to the deck. Marcus screamed, clutching his wrist as blood gushed from between his fingers, his face contorted with terror.
Just then, the roar of a speedboat starting up came from the direction of the cabin, and Lynn's heart tightened—it was Varus! He ignored Marcus, turned around and rushed towards the back door of the cabin, shouting as he ran, "Varus, you stop right there!"
A new battle has broken out. Lynn and his team engage in a fierce struggle against smugglers and mutant bodyguards on a smuggling ship in LaCeva Harbor. They know that this battle concerns the upholding of justice and the happiness of countless families; they must do everything in their power to capture Verus and completely destroy this criminal gang hiding in the shadows.
The chaos in La Ceva Port attracted the attention of local gangsters and smugglers, but no one dared to intervene, merely watching from afar with eyes filled with fear and curiosity. Lynn and his team, disregarding the danger, fought fiercely, each strike aimed at the enemy's vitals. Although the smugglers and mutant bodyguards were numerous and extremely ferocious, they did not back down, engaging in a fierce battle with their superior fighting skills and unwavering will.
Lynn dodged an attack from a smuggler, then retaliated with a punch to the smuggler's chest. The smuggler groaned and collapsed to the ground. He then continued rushing towards the cabin, intending to grab Varus. Just then, the incredibly fast mutant bodyguard suddenly appeared in front of him, blocking his path, his eyes cold and radiating a strong sense of oppression.
“You won’t get past me,” the mutant bodyguard’s voice was hoarse and icy. “I won’t let you hurt the boss.” Lynn sneered, his eyes resolute. “You think you can stop me? Verus has committed heinous crimes. He must be punished by law. Today, I will capture him, and no one can stop me!”
As soon as he finished speaking, Lynn charged towards the mutant bodyguard, his pistol aimed at the mutant's chest, and pulled the trigger without hesitation. The bullet whistled out, heading straight for the mutant's chest, but the mutant reacted extremely quickly, dodging to the side. The bullet grazed his shoulder, struck the cabin wall behind him, and sent up a spray of gravel.
The mutant bodyguard sneered and charged at Lynn with astonishing speed, instantly reaching him and throwing a punch at Lynn's chest. Lynn quickly dodged to the side, simultaneously kicking the mutant's leg. The mutant bodyguard reacted swiftly, leaping away from Lynn's attack and simultaneously delivering a backhand punch to Lynn's arm. Lynn felt a sharp pain, nearly dropping his pistol.
Lynn gritted his teeth, enduring the pain in his arm, and charged at the mutant bodyguard again, engaging him in a desperate struggle. He knew that only by defeating this mutant bodyguard could he capture Varus. He couldn't give up; no matter how great the difficulties, he had to persevere.
Meanwhile, Jason and his teammates engaged in a fierce battle with the smugglers. Jason, agile and skilled in combat, took down one smuggler after another. However, the smugglers were too numerous and armed, and the team gradually fell into a disadvantageous position. Two team members were hit and injured by the smugglers, but they still did not back down, tenaciously blocking the smugglers' attack and buying time for Lynn.
Inside the cabin, Verus was quickly packing his belongings, preparing to escape again. He knew that Lynn was very strong, and the members of the pursuit team were all elites. Although his mutant bodyguards were powerful, it wouldn't be easy for them to hold off Lynn for long. He had to escape as soon as possible and reach his secret base to ensure his safety.
Verus packed his things and quickly ran towards the back door of the cabin, where a small speedboat, his backup escape vehicle, was waiting. He knew that as long as he could board the speedboat and escape La Ceva Harbor, he could reach his secret hideout and shake off Lynn's pursuit.
The fight between Lynn and the mutant bodyguard grew increasingly fierce. Several more wounds appeared on Lynn's body, and the pain in his arm intensified, but his gaze remained resolute, showing no sign of wavering. Relying on his years of investigative experience and superb fighting skills, he relentlessly searched for the mutant bodyguard's weaknesses. Finally, in one exchange, he seized an opening, extending his fist and delivering a powerful punch to the mutant's chest. The mutant let out a muffled groan, staggered back a few steps, and black blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Lynn rushed forward, his pistol once again aimed at the mutant's chest, and pulled the trigger without hesitation. This time, the bullet struck the mutant precisely in the chest, and the mutant let out a shrill scream, his body crashing heavily to the ground, unable to move, completely incapacitated.
After dealing with the mutant bodyguard, Lynn didn't linger and immediately rushed towards the cabin. He burst inside, only to find it empty except for some scattered items; Varus was nowhere to be seen. Lynn's heart tightened, and he immediately ran towards the back door of the cabin, where he saw Varus running towards a small speedboat, about to board it.
"Velus, you stop right there!" Lynn's roar was torn apart by the sea breeze. He rushed towards the back door of the cabin with all his might. The deck under his feet was covered with blood and seawater. He slipped with every step. The wounds on his arms and back were pulled and ached terribly. Cold sweat slid down his forehead, mixed with the bloodstains and seawater on his face. He was a mess, but he did not dare to slow down at all.
Jason and the rest of the team immediately followed, clearing out the remaining smugglers as they chased after Lynn. Marcus, clutching his bleeding wrist, collapsed on the deck, his eyes filled with terror. He stared at Lynn and the others' retreating figures, too afraid to move—he knew his end was near.
When Lynn rushed to the back door of the cabin, he saw a small speedboat speeding towards the depths of the sea. Verus stood on the speedboat, turned around and waved at him, the same mocking smile still on his lips. His voice carried across the sea breeze, full of biting sarcasm: "Lynn, next time we meet, I'll show you how foolish it was to go against me!"
"Fire!" Lynn gripped his pistol and repeatedly pulled the trigger towards the speedboat. Bullets whistled across the sea, splashing white sprays, but none even touched the edge of the speedboat. The speedboat sped up, quickly becoming a small black dot on the surface of the sea, disappearing completely into the vast ocean, never to be seen again.
"Damn it!" Lynn slammed his pistol onto the deck, his chest heaving violently, his anger and resentment intertwined. The wound on his back bled even more due to his emotional outburst, and his vision blurred, almost causing him to collapse to the ground.
Jason rushed over and grabbed him, his voice urgent: "Lynn, calm down! We already know he has a secret base in Honduras. As long as we follow the clues, we'll definitely find him! You're injured now, you need to treat your wound first."
Lynn took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. He pushed Jason's hand away, his eyes regaining their resolve: "You're right, we can't give up. First, subdue Marcus and the remaining smugglers, bring them back to the police station for interrogation, and see if we can get the exact location of Verus's secret hideout, as well as information about the Karen mutant organization's branch in Honduras, out of them."
The team members immediately sprang into action, subduing the collapsed Marcus and several wounded smugglers, handcuffing them, and escorting them to the shore. Seeing that the federal agents had the situation under control, the gangsters and smugglers who had been watching scattered and fled, fearing they would be implicated. The previously chaotic LaCeva harbor gradually returned to calm, leaving only bloodstains on the deck, scattered weapons, and the stench of blood in the air, telling the story of the fierce battle that had just taken place.
Lynn leaned against the ship's railing, letting his team treat his wounds. The stinging pain from the disinfectant made him wince, but his sharp eyes still scanned the harbor's surroundings, as if searching for any trace of Verus. "Jason, contact the Honduran police and have them send men to take over Marcus and the smugglers. Also, have them assist us in searching all the hidden hideouts near La Ceva port. Verus might have left informants." (End of Chapter)
