Chapter 81
Strange Events
Chapter 81 Strange Events
The group disembarked from the cruise ship, and some of them walked as if they were drunk because the ship had been rocking for so long.
Gojo Satoru never expected to come to Japan again in this way. Although they are two different worlds, they are actually quite similar.
After leaving the dock, passing through inspection, and entering the city, everyone began looking for a place to rest.
Hotels and guesthouses are not available; they require registration with identification, just like in China. Illegal hotels are practically nonexistent in this city near the Pacific Ocean.
Left with no other choice, these once-proud but now destitute individuals took refuge in a temple.
The temple is called Yanming Temple.
The stone gate is at the foot of the mountain, and the marble steps lead straight to the mountain temple. The temple is not particularly large, and there are not many believers who come here.
Apart from a few Japanese monks, they were all people like them who had nowhere else to go.
After the abbot of Yanming Temple arranged for everyone to stay there, the people dispersed in twos and threes.
They're resting here today before continuing their journey, so this is a free time for them.
Gojo Satoru didn't go out; he just slept in the side room.
I took a nap.
The lights that had been turned off were suddenly turned on, and Gojo Satoru was startled. He opened his eyes, a little confused, and saw that Ai Jiangtu and the others, who had left earlier, had returned.
"What's wrong?" Gojo Satoru asked, yawning sleepily.
"Some team members are in trouble," Ai Jiangtu replied first, then turned to Jiang Yu and asked, "Have you found them?"
"No, it seems they really have disappeared," Jiang Yu said with a wry smile.
As they were talking, Mo Fan and Jiang Shaoxu pushed open the door and entered, immediately drawing everyone's attention.
"Who's missing?" Mo Fan asked immediately.
"We've been looking for you guys for ages, we thought you'd disappeared. Where did you go? We were so worried about you," Jiang Yu said.
"We just went down the mountain to buy some things... By the way, did something happen? Why are you so tense?" Jiang Shaoxu noticed that something was wrong and hurriedly asked.
"Zhao Manyan fainted..." Jiang Yu took the initiative to explain the situation.
Zhao Manyan lay unconscious on the tatami mat in the private room.
Mo Fan walked up, lifted the blanket, and saw Zhao Manyan's face.
His skin was bluish-white. Zhao Manyan was the kind of pretty boy, but his skin was usually very rosy. It had never been so bluish-white before.
Mo Fan touched the blanket and found it to be ice-cold; the coldness was emanating entirely from Zhao Manyan himself.
"Zu Jiming discovered it first. He was meditating in the room when he suddenly felt cold. After searching for a long time, he found that it was emanating from Zhao Manyan. He called him but did not respond, and he has remained in this state ever since," Nan Jue said.
This happened so strangely that, apart from Zuji Ming, only Gojo Satoru, who was sleeping, was in the room at the time.
The group went about their own business, and no one saw Zhao Manyan come into contact with anything.
It suddenly turned into this state, which really startled everyone.
"Healing magic isn't working, is it?" Mo Fan asked.
Nan Rongni nodded.
"Will there be any danger to his life?" Mo Fan then asked.
"The person is still alive, but it seems that his soul has been taken away by something," Gojo Satoru said after glancing at Zhao Manyan's body.
Jiang Shaoxu then recounted what he had overheard at the tavern.
Upon hearing this, everyone felt a chill run down their spines. Could it be that Zhao Manyan had truly been possessed?
"Can we stop being so superstitious? We live in a society that believes in magic," Nan Jue interrupted everyone's daydreaming.
"Mo Fan, what you said about seeing a young girl earlier, could it be true?" Jiang Shaoxu finally realized what was happening and hurriedly asked Mo Fan.
Mo Fan did not answer, but Jiang Shaoxu had already seen the answer in his eyes.
Gojo Satoru smacked his lips, sensing that something must be behind it all, but his six eyes were damaged and he couldn't use high power.
"Mo Fan, have you done something stupid again?" Gojo Satoru suddenly asked.
Mo Fan felt a pang of guilt and blurted out everything he knew.
After hearing this, everyone was speechless.
"So, you just used his name and he turned into this monstrosity?" Gojo Satoru glanced at Mo Fan and said.
No wonder he got hooked; you really do recklessly. Mo Fan did something terrible, and Zhao Manyan ended up bearing the consequences. Speechless.
"I guess so." Mo Fan scratched his head awkwardly, looking somewhat helpless.
"Let's search around this temple. If I'm not mistaken, there must be something hidden here..." Mo Fan said to the group.
"Okay." Everyone nodded.
The others also felt they couldn't just wait like this, so they followed Gojo Satoru's advice, split up, and began searching through the night.
Soon someone found a strange tiled house on the back mountain.
Mo Fan set fire to the weeds, burning them all away, before entering the house with the others.
"Why is there a wooden fish here?" the first person to enter exclaimed in surprise.
Gojo Satoru was also staring at the thing, his expression thoughtful.
"It looks like a magical artifact. Strange, why is it just left here like this?" Nan Jue said.
Nan Jue seemed to be particularly proficient in magical artifacts. She walked over to the wooden fish and examined it carefully.
After waiting for a while, Nanjue talked about a series of things related to magical tools, and Gojo Satoru was getting sleepy listening to him.
In short, it requires entering the interior of the magical artifact and engaging in a mental battle with its spirit.
Gojo Satoru's soul was damaged, and he didn't want to take any risks.
So this important task was handed over to Mo Fan, since Zhao Manyan's current predicament was all due to the mess he created.
Ai Jiangtu, skilled and daring, accompanied Mo Fan into the vessel.
Meanwhile, Gojo Satoru and the others protected the two outside.
……
More than an hour later, Mo Fan and Ai Jiangtu opened their eyes at the same time.
Gojo Satoru roughly guessed what this space was.
The existence of this restriction is likely to find a user for the wooden fish magic weapon; whether it will cost them their lives is unclear.
"How is it?" Jiang Shaoxu asked hurriedly.
"It was like watching a tragic movie," Mo Fan commented casually.
Ai Jiangtu simply nodded without saying anything.
After leaving the vessel space, Mo Fan and Ai Jiangtu led their team to find the monks at the temple.
After seeing that Mo Fan and the others had talked about something, Gojo Satoru hurriedly headed towards the location of some mountain.
However, what Gojo Satoru knows is that Mo Fan and his team have found the source of Zhao Manyan's coma and are now focused on eliminating it.
Gojo Satoru didn't follow; instead, he went back to his room and continued sleeping.
When I woke up, I saw that Zhao Manyan had recovered.
It seems Mo Fan succeeded; in that case, Gotō no longer needs to intervene.
