Chapter 52
Soaring Young Eagle
Chapter 52 Soaring Young Eagle
"Let them fly!"
Good Robin is very angry.
Recently, a lot of strange people have come to our house.
They ran around the castle like frightened little mice.
Someone was shouting something, and the sound of boots pounding on the ground was like someone hitting his head with a hammer.
Good Robin hates them.
I hate their voices, I hate their smell, I hate them crowding in the hallway, surrounding my mother.
Let them fly, let them fly, let them fly!
It's fun to see people flying.
They went out through the moon gate, flew and flew, and then "snap," they stopped moving.
Good Robin saw it once.
A servant stole something from his mother, so she sent him flying out through the moon gate.
Robin, perched on the windowsill, watched the person fly downwards, getting smaller and smaller.
Finally, it landed on a rock at the foot of the mountain and turned into a small red dot.
It's so small.
From then on, he liked to say "Let him fly".
Scholar Cormon said something inappropriate, but obedient Robin didn't care.
He is a duke, Duke Robert Arryn.
Mom said that he could make whoever he liked stay, and he could make whoever he didn't like fly away.
That's how a duke becomes.
"Let them fly."
But his mother lied to him, and his mother wouldn't allow it.
"They are guests, so we must be polite to them." His mother hugged him tightly. "My dear Robin is a duke."
"The Duke must treat his guests well, you know?"
Robin didn't know.
But he didn't say anything more because his mother gave him something to eat.
After he finished eating, his mother kissed him.
"Sweetie, Mommy will come back to play with you in a little while."
Mom is gone.
Obedient Robin shrank back under the covers and covered his head.
It's still very noisy outside.
He still wanted those people to fly.
Soon after, two people arrived at the castle.
One was a red-haired woman who looked a lot like her mother, but she was taller and not as fat as her mother.
Mom called her "sister" and made good Robin call her aunt.
The other one is a very, very short little monster.
He had a large head, blond and white hair, and even his eyes were two colors. Everyone called him "Little Devil".
But later, the red-haired aunt and my mother got into a fight, a very fierce fight.
The little monster said something that made everyone laugh.
Mom was very angry and said they were bad people.
After that, Robin never saw them again.
After a long while, the castle gradually quieted down.
Those people who were running around no longer appeared.
Everyone seemed very nervous, and no one else entered the castle.
Except for that uncle.
Robin knows that uncle.
Back when we were still at the foot of the mountain, back when there were still many, many people at the Red Castle, that uncle would come often.
He always came at night, when his father wasn't home.
Then Mom would let good Robin go back to his room to sleep.
But obedient Robin doesn't like sleeping alone.
But he didn't dare to say it, because his mother would be angry.
"Good Robin, you have to go to sleep, or you'll be naughty."
He could only huddle under the covers, listening to his mother's laughter coming from the next room.
Later, they left the noisy red castle, boarded a large ship, and drifted for many, many days until they arrived at this high mountain.
Robin was very happy because there weren't many annoying people here, and his mother could spend time with him every day.
Then that uncle showed up.
That day, he was sitting in his seat watching two wooden knights fight each other, and he was happily clapping.
But Mom suddenly laughed.
He thought his mother was also happy to see a knight die.
But Mom stood at the door and hugged the uncle tightly.
"My dear Robin!" Mom's voice sounded like singing, "Look who's here!"
The thin, small uncle stood in front of him and patted his head.
"Do you remember me? I'm Uncle Petyr."
"I often came to see you when I was in King's Landing."
Good Robin stared into those eyes.
It's grayish-green, like the wicked fox in the story.
Obedient Robin doesn't like him and wants him to fly.
But in the days that followed, that uncle kept appearing.
He talked to his mother in the living room, in the hallway, and in his mother's room.
Every time he was next to his mother, she would laugh, and laugh very loudly.
Sometimes when Robin goes to find his mother, he opens the door and sees the uncle sitting next to her, very close.
Mom would turn her head, and the smile on her face would become a little strange.
"Sweet Robin, Mommy's busy, you go back to your room first."
The door closed.
Robin stood at the door, carrying his wooden knight, unsure of where to go.
That night, obedient Robin had a dream.
He dreamt that a fox was crouching beside his bed, staring at him with its grey-green eyes.
Robin wanted to call for his mother, but he couldn't. He could only curl up in the blanket and remain motionless.
The fox suddenly opened its mouth, revealing sharp teeth, and lunged at him.
The next day, Robin started convulsing uncontrollably.
Bachelor Cormon has arrived.
The scholar wore a gray robe and his face was full of wrinkles.
"Here, have some of this."
The scholar was holding a cup containing a milky white liquid that smelled sweet.
Robin recognizes this.
Drinking it will make you fall asleep, and once you're asleep, you won't feel uncomfortable anymore.
He took the cup and gulped it down.
"Go to sleep, my good boy."
The scholar said the sound was fading into the distance.
When he woke up, his arm was a little sore and was wrapped in a white cloth.
Good Robin always feels dizzy.
Scholar Comen gave him more and more sweet-sleeping milk to drink, and he also bled him more and more frequently.
Sometimes when he wakes up, he feels that his head is empty, there is nothing there, only a buzzing sound.
His mother visited him less and less often.
Every time my mother comes, she wears beautiful clothes, puts on makeup, and has a lovely smile.
But Robin could tell that something was wrong with his mother's eyes.
It's too bright.
It's frighteningly bright.
One day, his mother cupped his face and said...
"My dear Robin, Mommy is getting married."
Robin blinked.
marry?
"And Petyr." There was a joy in her mother's voice that Robin had never heard before. "From now on, he'll be your father."
Robin opened his mouth.
dad?
Didn't Mom already marry Dad?
But Daddy has disappeared and hasn't come looking for Robin in a long time.
Mom said Dad is dead.
They were poisoned to death by the red-haired aunt and her dwarf pet.
Robin really wanted to meet the dwarf, but his mother wouldn't let him.
On the wedding day, the chapel was filled with candles.
My mother was wearing a dark blue robe and a flower wreath on her head, and she was smiling happily.
The uncle stood to the side, a smile on his face.
Many people were standing below, with smiles on their faces.
But obedient Robin could tell.
Except for Mom, none of those people's smiles were genuine.
Everyone's eyes were drooping, and there was no light in them.
They stood there like a group of wooden figures, clapping their hands and nodding.
Good Robin closed his eyes and buried his head in his knees.
"Let them fly!" he shouted.
When he opened his eyes again, the wedding was over.
That night, obedient Robin had another dream.
He dreamed that the fox opened several doors, and many people ran out of the doors.
They were carrying knives, and blood was flowing everywhere.
I don't know how much time has passed.
The door opened.
Scholar Cormon walked in.
"Good Robin," the scholar's voice trembled, "come with me."
He picked up the well-behaved Robin, walked out of the room, and down the corridor.
There were many people in the hall.
The moon gate opened at some unknown time.
Robin recognized the blond prince.
Because good Robin doesn't like him.
The prince is always smiling, but good Robin can tell that his smiles are fake.
Robin recognized the chubby king because the king shared the same name as him.
The fat king was very angry and kept shouting.
Mom was there too.
After the wedding, Robin never saw his mother again; everyone said she was sick.
Good boy Robin ran over and jumped into his mother's arms.
Mom seemed to be crying, but good Robin couldn't care less; he was very hungry.
It seems like everyone is still arguing.
They kept pointing at Robin and his mother and yelling.
That annoying uncle was kneeling before the king, head bowed, muttering something unintelligible.
Mom suddenly stopped crying.
Robin looked up and saw his mother's face.
My mother's eyes were wide open, and they looked frightening.
Good Robin was scared.
He didn't want to eat anymore; he wanted to run away.
But his mother suddenly reached out and picked him up.
He was held so tightly that he couldn't breathe.
Mom is running, running very fast.
The corridor receded, the torches on the wall receded, and the screaming faces receded as well.
Robin saw a lot of people rushing towards them.
They were still shouting.
Suddenly, the wind howled and blew upwards.
Good Robin saw the blue sky and the white clouds.
And the white castle that is getting smaller and smaller.
"I'm flying!"
