Chapter 14
: 1 vs. 2!
Chapter 14. One Against Two!
"Berserker?!"
Upon hearing Assassin's words, Saber stared intently at the newcomer.
The heavy armor, made of some unknown material, and the massive sword stuck in the ground, exuded a dark aura. It was perhaps the culprit that caused the tremors earlier.
This servant is incredibly strong, judging from his appearance alone!
"!"
"?"
Without a word, the other party picked up the heavy sword with one hand and swung it around.
"call!"
A fierce wind howled, and a violent air pressure swept over, lifting his and her bangs.
"Are you interfering in my duel with Assassin because you want to take on two opponents at once?"
Standing there with her sword in hand, the holy sword's radiance still lingering, Saber looked at the other person and asked.
"call!"
"?!"
And in just a moment, the other party gave an answer.
He wielded such a greatsword, yet his movements were not slow at all; on the contrary, they were exceptionally fast.
"Clang!"
The sword was already swinging down from above, and Saber immediately raised her holy sword to block it.
In the instant the evil sword clashed with the holy sword, dazzling sparks erupted.
"Snap!"
The ground where Saber was standing collapsed due to the weight, and both of her feet sank into the soil.
(Such heavy force.)
This was the first time she had been so suppressed, and she even felt like she couldn't take it anymore.
"Saber! Don't open your eyes to his sword!"
Having already learned his lesson once, Kenshin stood up and immediately shouted.
"What?"
Upon hearing Assassin's reminder, Saber was taken aback at first, but when she looked up, she saw that the purplish-black aura emanating from the sword formed a scarlet "dragon eye".
(Is this the dragon's resentment and anger?)
Sensing the will contained within the "Dragon Eye," his body stiffened instantly, unable to exert any force.
At the same time, the greatsword had already pressed down.
(Oh no!)
If one endures this, one will inevitably suffer serious harm.
"Clang!"
In that critical moment, Kenshin already held both the broken sword and its scabbard, their lights shining brightly.
"Flying Sword Style! Twin Dragon Flash!"
The powerful double strike hit Berserker's helmet.
He couldn't actually wound the fully armed Berserker with a knife, but he could certainly use the force of his momentum to knock him back.
"Sizzle!"
The friction between his feet created grooves, and Berserker was knocked back a little distance, causing him to retract the greatsword that had been suppressing Saber.
"Thanks, Assassin!"
Saber thanked him naturally, but still felt a lingering fear.
If Kenshin hadn't helped her, she would definitely have been injured.
If that exaggerated greatsword were to strike her, even her own armor would certainly not be able to completely defend against it.
"Click-clack."
But then Saber saw that Assassin's already broken sword, which was only half intact, had developed cracks.
"Were you fighting Berserker before?"
Saber exclaimed in surprise, suddenly understanding why Kenshin's sword had broken in half.
"Although this was not my original intention, if he insists on coming here, I have no choice but to cooperate with you."
Nodding, Kenshin then set up his defensive stance.
Although he could have chosen not to help Saber just now, doing so would have been tantamount to courting death.
Only by cooperating with Saber can we have a chance to defeat or repel Berserker.
He couldn't have done it alone.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend; this saying applies to the whole world.
"Let's settle our score after we defeat Berserker."
A slight smile curved her lips; Saber didn't dislike this turn of events.
On the contrary, she admires honest people.
Judging from his rescue earlier and his current attitude, Assassin is not a foolish or despicable guy.
Although he had a history of attempting to assassinate his "Master," that was within the other party's duties and position, and there was nothing to blame him for.
"Be careful, he's coming!"
With his nerves taut, Kenshin then spoke in a deep voice.
"call!"
He pushed off the ground with one leg and charged forward like a rocket, slashing horizontally with his greatsword.
It seems like they want to kill both Saber and Assassin at the same time.
Saber stepped forward and swung her holy sword to block the heavy sword that was slashing down.
Grip the ground firmly with both feet to stabilize your center of gravity.
"Sizzle."
But the posture of being pushed horizontally several meters in one go seemed extremely difficult.
(As a berserker)
(This force is too abnormal!)
In the struggle of strength, she was pushed away.
Kenshin, however, dodged the greatsword head-on and struck his opponent's leg joint from the side using the scabbard.
As an assassin, he knew exactly how to target his enemies.
He cannot cause damage with a broken sword; he can only use the scabbard to create as much trouble as possible for his opponent.
"Varied!"
But in the next moment, before Kenshin's attack could arrive, he found that his opponent had released his greatsword and grabbed the suddenly appearing golden spear with his other hand, thrusting it towards his forehead.
(no!)
Injury for injury
Having assessed the situation, Kenshin abruptly retreated to the side.
They narrowly avoided the opponent's heavy blow, but also failed to launch a successful attack.
If he had hesitated even for a moment, he would probably have been injured again.
Whether he would be injured if he struck the other person with the scabbard was uncertain, but he himself would certainly be either killed or maimed.
"Such a quick reaction time."
Saber was surprised to see Berserker able to retaliate even in this situation.
It's unbelievable that even someone as fast as Assassin could be countered by the opponent.
(A greatsword imbued with the resentment of a dragon.)
(A golden spear)
(Does he actually possess multiple Noble Phantasms?)
Saber looked at Berserker's actions with a strange expression, full of questions.
It is not unusual for Servants to have multiple Noble Phantasms, but due to class restrictions, the weapons they can use are relatively uniform.
To put it simply, Saber always uses a "sword", Archer uses a "bow", Lancer uses a "spear", and Rider definitely has to "drive a car".
A Servant who can wield both a "sword" and a "spear" is quite rare.
"You've put away your greatsword and are now fighting us with a spear. Do you think you're Lancer?"
(And judging from the weapon's construction, it doesn't seem to be made of conventional materials.)
(Which country's hero is he?)
The greatsword vanished, leaving only the golden spear that seemed to undulate like a dragon.
This was the first time Saber had ever encountered such a unique Heroic Spirit.
And then she witnessed how terrifying the other party was.
"Splash!"
"Snapped!"
The spear she held came at her with a fierce and swift attack, leaving her no time to retaliate.
(That marksmanship?)
It was a completely unfamiliar offensive, and Saber found it difficult to describe.
Berserker wasn't just playing randomly without any strategy.
The opponent was like a seasoned master of the spear, controlling each thrust, jab, stir, mix, and ram with remarkable skill.
The bloodstain appeared on the side of his face; it was from a "stab" that he couldn't avoid.
"Flying Sword Style! Earth Dragon Flash!"
The scabbard slammed into the ground, creating a powerful surge of air pressure and sending debris flying towards Berserker's back.
This sudden attack slowed Berserker's movements and gave Saber a chance to catch her breath.
"A truly unexpected and formidable opponent."
Taking advantage of the distance, Saber wiped the blood from her face and spoke.
She never imagined that Berserker would be so powerful.
It's one thing to use a greatsword to suppress them, but they're also wielding a spear with such skill.
But at that moment, the two suddenly discovered that the golden spear in Berserker's hand had turned into an ancient and ornate grimoire covered with unknown script.
"The weapons have changed?"
P.S.: Consider this a brief explanation, I'm putting it here.
The protagonist of FF14, the Warrior of Light, is nicknamed "Light Dull" because his early behavior was dull and he could only express emotions by shaking his head and nodding.
However, after experiencing the actual storyline, "Light Dazed" has impeccable combat power.
He has fought evil dragons, helped people restore their countries, defeated empires, and overthrown despair that could threaten the universe—these are too many stories to tell in a simple narrative.
His most distinctive feature is that he uses a lot of equipment.
Greatsword, katana, spear, gun, machine gun, magic book, staff, divination tool, scythe, melee weapon, axe, fishing rod.
He is proficient in almost everything. To use one description, he is known as the "Azure Dragon Knight" when he uses a spear in the story, and as the "Dark Knight" when he uses a greatsword.
