Chapter 17
, 17 Rewards!
Chapter 17.17. The Reward!
(It's not precognitive ability, but rather the power to see through true names?)
Lelouch didn't care how many kings "Britain" had; he was more concerned about Archer's situation.
Even though he had only revealed his mecha, the other party immediately knew his real name.
Lelouch naturally deduced from this strange phenomenon that the other party possessed some kind of magical ability.
He simply didn't know how much Archer could actually see through.
But for Saber, Archer's words were far too impactful.
It should be noted that Britain died after her, and she had never even heard of Lelouch's name.
Where did this so-called "King of Britain" come from?
Moreover, judging from Rider's attire and the mech he pilots, he doesn't resemble the former King at all.
"It seems you can only see through the real name, not the whole story of your origins."
Lelouch tentatively asked Gilgamesh a question, and then spoke.
"Hmph, don't underestimate my power."
"It was only used exceptionally once."
"After all, there are many monstrous cultivators of strange origins among you!"
Archer snorted and crossed his arms in response.
Omniscient and Omnipotent Star
That should have been the treasure he "disliked" the most, as it could allow him to see the world and know everything if he wanted to.
Not to mention his opponent's real name and Noble Phantasm, he can even know some hidden truths.
Once initiated, it's like reading a script in the Holy Grail War; you can control everything about your opponent.
It's just too boring, so he usually doesn't use it. The reason he used it this time was because Gilgamesh sensed something out of place with Berserker.
Sure enough, he discovered a major problem after using it.
The omniscient and omnipotent star could only provide him with too little "information"!
Only their real names and job titles are "revealed," while most other information is obscured by some force and cannot be seen.
(It seems his power is more than that, but it must have been limited.)
Having discerned the information he sought from Archer's gloomy expression, Lelouch pondered.
Simply revealing his real name wouldn't have much of an impact on him.
I had already specifically researched the history of this world; Britain here had long since perished and didn't have that kind of ability at all.
No one knows his origins.
"Answer me! Rider! Are you truly the King of Britain?"
"What is your wish to participate in this war?!"
But someone seemed very concerned about his identity; looking down, Saber appeared to be a little agitated.
"Do I need to answer you?"
Lelouch couldn't understand why Saber was being so emotional.
"!"
Upon hearing this, Saber seemed momentarily disappointed, but then, as if she had thought of something, she clenched her teeth.
"If you don't answer my question, I will make you the first target to be eliminated in this war!"
She acted as if she were reckless, which could be described as "acting on impulse."
It may seem a bit unreasonable, but Lelouch's existence is extremely important to Artoria.
Her own wish was to "save" Britain and its people from destruction.
She could not accept that Britain perished because of her, so she believed that if she could go back to the time of the election of the king and have a more suitable candidate to replace her as king, she might be able to change the fate of destruction.
There is certainly someone who can do better than her and lead Britain to prosperity and flourishing, rather than to its demise.
Lelouch's presence put her on edge.
If a new, unfamiliar "King of Britain" were to appear, would that mean her path is the right one?
"You've got yourself entangled with some troublesome guys, Rider."
Webber, hidden in the cockpit of the mech, watched the two people staring at each other and murmured softly.
He didn't actually understand Rider's origins either.
The Knight King is a legendary figure as the King of Britain, but it seems that there has never been a King of Britain named "Lelouch" in history.
"If you insist on this, then..."
"Let your words be a declaration of war against the Holy British Empire!"
Lelouch raised the holy sword he had constructed and pointed it at Saber, shouting in a booming voice.
The sword in his hand had no legendary enhancements; it was merely a "Sword of Excalibur" with a false appearance.
After all, his Britain did not revere the so-called "holy sword".
"Yeah?"
Upon hearing the implied meaning in the reply, Saber seemed relieved and then lowered her head.
The other party admitted it.
That's enough.
The new King of Britain.
If possible, she would love to visit the other country and see what it's like.
Although she didn't know what the other person's specific wish was, Saber at least had something new to look forward to.
Once she knew the truth about Rider, she felt it wouldn't matter if she gave up the fight.
"baffling."
Jonouchi stood up, completely unable to understand the exchange between the two.
"Yes, I don't understand the concept of a king either."
However, the attack that Sakura Kyoko launched from behind sent chills down Jōnouchi's spine.
She just wants to find a way to break the magic circle as soon as possible, otherwise something bad could easily happen.
"Bang!"
"Oh dear! This is dangerous! Do you want to kill me?"
Dodging a chain attack with a somersault, Jonouchi waved and shouted.
"Huh? Does this war have a rule against killing?"
Sakura Kyoko countered with a question that left Jonouchi speechless.
"You're so young, don't have such bad intentions!"
"A despicable adult has no right to say such a thing!"
As if they were arguing, the two went back and forth.
"Snapped!"
"Um?"
"That's a reward."
Hearing the sound from above, Kenshin raised his hand and grabbed a falling divine sword.
He stared in astonishment at the sword he had received, a question forming in his mind.
Judging from its appearance alone, this sword must have a remarkable history.
"As a subject, you should fight well for your king."
"It would be a great disgrace to me to be defeated because of inferior weapons."
"I am extremely grateful!"
Holding the sword in his hand, Kenshin responded earnestly, considering their respective positions and identities.
If those who know Gilgamesh well knew this, they would probably be shocked.
Given this "king's" temperament and character, it is truly a rare occurrence that he would "give away" a precious sword.
Ordinary people cannot obtain the so-called "treasure" from Gilgamesh.
Kusanagi sword.
That is the legendary sword that Kenshin holds in his hand, a "divine weapon" native to Japan.
Although he still cannot unleash the so-called Noble Phantasm, for Kenshin, as long as he holds a sword, he has room to use his swordsmanship.
(Magic power and heavy armor have been restored)
Archer glanced at Berserker; his attention was entirely focused on him.
The reason he gave Assassin the sword was not only to make the fight more intense, but also to probe the man's background.
Gilgamesh was convinced that Berserker's origins were anything but simple.
It would be beneath the king's dignity to participate personally, which is why he chose to have his subjects participate.
