Chapter 26

Brother Liang actually won!

Xiao Hu's two grabs missed, and he couldn't help but feel a little annoyed.

He stopped testing the waters, took a big step forward, opened his arms, and hugged Liang Shanbo around the waist.

If he were to hold on tightly, given his size and strength, Liang Shanbo would find it difficult to break free.

Liang Shanbo remained calm and composed. Just as Xiao Hu lunged forward, he suddenly ducked down. He bent his legs, shrank his body, and slipped under Xiao Hu's arm.

Xiao Hu's embrace landed on empty air. He turned around abruptly and saw Liang Shanbo already standing three steps away, his hair still disheveled, looking at him calmly.

Sweat beaded on Xiao Hu's forehead. Not from exhaustion, but from the sun, and perhaps also from annoyance. Because Liang Shanbo didn't confront him head-on, but instead dodged, like a slippery eel.

He took a deep breath, suppressing his anger.

Then, instead of rushing forward, he steadily approached Liang Shanbo step by step. His arms were slightly outstretched, ready to grab Liang Shanbo at any moment.

As Liang Shanbo watched him approach, he no longer dodged. He slightly parted his legs, leaned forward slightly, and let his arms hang naturally at his sides. His eyes remained calm as still water.

Xiao Hu pressed himself against Liang Shanbo, extended his right hand, and grabbed Liang Shanbo's left wrist.

This time, Liang Shanbo did not hide.

Xiao Hu was overjoyed. He grabbed Liang Shanbo's wrist and pulled him sharply into his arms, while simultaneously reaching out with his left hand to grab the belt tied above Liang Shanbo's hip. He intended to lift Liang Shanbo up and slam him to the ground, just as he had done to Yu Yanzhi the day before.

However, just as his left hand touched Liang Shanbo's belt, Liang Shanbo's body suddenly moved.

Liang Shanbo's left wrist was gripped by Xiao Hu, making it difficult for him to break free. However, his right hand suddenly shot out and grabbed Xiao Hu's left arm. Then, his body twisted violently, his waist seemingly equipped with a mechanism, and he suddenly exerted force.

Xiao Hu felt a powerful force coming from Liang Shanbo's arm. That force didn't seem like something someone much lighter than him could wield. He lost his footing, and Liang Shanbo pulled him to one side.

He was greatly alarmed and quickly released Liang Shanbo's left wrist, reaching out with both hands to grab onto something to steady himself.

But how could Liang Shanbo give him that opportunity?

Liang Shanbo leaned forward, his shoulder pressing against Xiao Hu's chest. He grabbed Xiao Hu's belt and arms with both hands, and with a sudden burst of strength, pulled him diagonally.

Xiao Hu's nearly 200-pound body was actually lifted off the ground by him!

The onlookers gasped in surprise.

Sun Yuangui's eyes seemed about to pop out of their sockets. Wang Shu's eyebrows twitched sharply. Gu Jun's mouth opened slightly.

Zhu Yingtai's eyes widened without her realizing it, and her hands clenched tightly.

Xiao Hu's body traced an arc in the air, then there was a muffled "bang".

His back slammed into the ground, creating a crater in the grass, dust billowing in the sunlight. He lay sprawled on his back, limbs outstretched, hair disheveled and spread across the grass. His eyes stared at the sky, filled with bewilderment and disbelief.

He lost?

He actually lost!

The onlookers fell into a deathly silence at first, and then burst into a gasp of amazement.

"Oh my god!"

"He won! Liang Shanbo won!"

"How is this possible!"

"Xiao Hu actually lost!"

Exclamations of amazement rose and fell, echoing across the field.

Sun Yuangui stood there, his mouth agape, his mind blank.

Brother Liang...did you really win?

Wang Shu looked at Liang Shanbo in the arena, his eyes filled with complex emotions. He had lost to Xiao Hu in a wrestling match, but Liang Shanbo had won. This Liang Shanbo not only surpassed him in talent, but also in bravery.

Gu Jun let out a soft breath, a smile appearing on his lips. This Liang Shanbo truly surprises people time and time again.

Jia Boyang's expression froze completely.

Yu Yanzhi stood at the edge of the crowd, his gaze fixed on Liang Shanbo, his eyes filled with surprise, admiration, and envy.

Zhu Yingtai stood still, her hands still clenched tightly, her eyes fixed on Liang Shanbo in the arena, her gaze filled with surprise and disbelief.

Brother Liang actually won! He actually threw Xiao Hu to the ground!

She recalled how she had tried to dissuade Brother Liang yesterday, how she had distrusted him, saying that he "could not possibly defeat Xiao Hu," and her cheeks suddenly felt hot again. It was a mixture of joy, shame, and embarrassment.

But the corners of her mouth curved up, forming a beautiful smile.

Yin Xin stood beside her, dumbfounded. She opened her mouth, murmuring, "Young Master Liang... is so amazing..."

Xiao Hu lay on the ground, panting for a while, before slowly getting up. After standing up, he patted the grass clippings and dirt off his body, then looked at Liang Shanbo with no anger or resentment in his eyes, only solemnity.

He bowed respectfully to Liang Shanbo, saying, "Brother Liang."

His voice was still deep and resonant, yet it carried a sincerity: "I lost. You won."

Liang Shanbo returned the greeting with a cupped-hand salute, his expression calm: "You flatter me."

Xiao Hu shook his head, a hint of admiration in his eyes: "I'm not being modest. You've earned it through sheer skill. You're good at studying, and your wrestling is just as impressive."

He paused, then added, "I will personally deliver the three thousand coins later."

Liang Shanbo nodded: "Thank you, Brother Xiao."

Xiao Hu grinned: "No need to thank me. This is what I should give you."

He looked at Liang Shanbo more closely and asked curiously, "Brother Liang, you don't look very strong, yet you're so powerful. How do you train?"

Liang Shanbo smiled slightly: "Most of it is due to my natural talent. I don't practice much on a regular basis, but I do push-ups every day."

"Push-ups?" Xiao Hu frowned. "What's that?"

Liang Shanbo said, "It's a method for strengthening the body. If Brother Xiao is interested, I can teach you another day."

Xiao Hu's eyes lit up: "Really?"

Liang Shanbo nodded: "It's true."

"Good!" Xiao Hu laughed and patted Liang Shanbo on the shoulder. His palm struck Liang Shanbo's lean shoulder with a "smack".

The onlookers, witnessing this scene, began to murmur amongst themselves.

Xiao Hu immediately stopped talking, turned around, put on his clothes, and walked away.

After seeing Xiao Hu leave, Sun Yuangui strode up to Liang Shanbo, looked him up and down, and then punched him on the shoulder.

"Brother Liang!" His voice boomed, filled with excitement. "You actually won! You really won!"

He shook his head, his expression a mixture of surprise and annoyance: "Yesterday I advised you not to challenge them, saying you were just asking for a beating and humiliation. Alas! I was truly blind to their greatness!"

Liang Shanbo smiled slightly: "Brother Sun is doing this for my own good."

Sun Yuangui chuckled twice and punched him again.

Wang Shu walked over, looked at Liang Shanbo, and cupped his hands in greeting: "Brother Liang, congratulations."

Liang Shanbo returned the greeting with clasped hands: "Thank you, Brother Wang."

Gu Jun also walked over, smiled slightly, and said gently, "Brother Liang is truly a man of great talent. I admire you, I admire you."

Liang Shanbo said, "Brother Gu, you flatter me."

Jia Boyang stood outside the crowd, looking at Liang Shanbo surrounded by people. His lips twitched, but he ultimately did not go over.

Yu Yanzhi didn't go over either. He stared at Liang Shanbo for a long time, then turned around and walked away silently.

Zhu Yingtai didn't go over. She just looked at Liang Shanbo with a smile in her eyes, waiting for him to come to her and for them to return to the school together.

Today marks the seventh day since Liang Shanbo arrived at Wansong Academy.

After gaining fame in Jiazhai, he has now shocked Yizhai with a confrontation with Xiao Hu.

Within seven days, his name became famous in both the Jia and Yi dormitories, and also in the Wansong Academy!
