Chapter 1529
January 1529.1 Summary and Acknowledgements
January 1 Summary and Acknowledgements
I'm here! I'm here!
It's payday again. Last month's income was 196.
Rounded up to two hundred yuan, I've reached my target, no problem, hahaha.
Of these, 94 were subscriptions and 16 were tips. 84 were from the group (likely related to QQ or Hongxiu). 1 was from a third party, and 6 were free revenue.
I still don't understand what the rest is, but there's no need to dwell on it. Let it be.
Last month, I didn't really check the author backend data much. Before, I would check the subscription numbers and reader interaction every day. But since the new year started, I haven't been doing that much.
See, there are changes, but they're not reflected in the quality of the writing. Hmm... I'll keep trying.
Last month, Lin Fan and his companions, following Qian Sui's wishes, made a brief stop in the Graystone settlement. They inadvertently discovered that the oppressed and enslaved humans were secretly gathering a resistance organization, and Adrian seemed to be playing an unclear role in it.
Before they could investigate further, Herman, the serf of Silvermoon City, took advantage of Adrian's absence and used violence to abduct Lin Fan and his companions, sending them urgently to Crystal City for auction.
During the auction, Adrian arrived just in time, and the information he carried caught the attention of the Thousand-Year-Old, who pursued him all the way to Beast God Mountain and broke into the temple. Seeing the corpse of the deceased Burning Beast still being exploited, he erupted in rage.
Lin Fan and his group first found Qian Sui through the Crystal City mecha legion. During the standoff, the supreme controller, Valerius, appeared. Realizing that Qian Sui was a living and powerful Burning Beast, he tried to curry favor with her.
Driven by desire, Bonnie drank the sewage left behind by the corpse of the Burning Beast, turning into an indescribable thing and becoming trapped in the energy pipes.
At the Finch family home, Lin Fan and his companions finally learned about the true purpose of humans here, as well as the past of the Annie Demon, through the explanations given by the new head of the family, Adrian.
This month, the energy shortage caused by the missing corpses of the Burning Beasts was transferred from Crystal City to Silvermoon City. The Silvermoon people, due to various reasons including class division, exploitation, contempt, and differing beliefs, rose in rebellion.
Crystal City's defenses were impenetrable, so they turned their attention to pacifying the humans of the Loess Region. Graystone, being a crucial passageway, was inevitably caught in the crossfire…
What follows is a rather complicated and chaotic battle, a real mess, just thinking about it gives me a headache. Why am I creating trouble for myself?
After this part is written, the格局 (geju, a concept encompassing the overall structure and overall situation) of Anniemo will be changed, and then this planet will likely come to an end. Ideally, it could be finished before the Lunar New Year.
Actually, at the very beginning, I originally wanted to approach this planet from a very low-key perspective. For example, the protagonist would see how miserable the people who are not treated as human beings are, how they are enslaved, and treated like animals.
But later it turned out that wouldn't work. Because Anemos are a group, not just one or two.
If it's just one or two individuals, or a small group, and the main characters can't stand it, they fight and rescue them, right?
However, this is a social class, and the protagonist's momentary righteous indignation alone is not enough to change it. So I made adjustments, not describing the suffering in such detail, and naturally the protagonist had fewer highlight moments.
This is indeed a bad point; it's something I didn't consider thoroughly beforehand. However, for a planet, the hierarchical structure is far greater than that of an individual.
Lin Fan and his group might have the ability to break through the isolation of the Loess Plateau and liberate everyone. Then what? Will the people who were trapped suddenly have a mental liberation?
But you're saying they should use the name of liberating humanity to start a war on a strange planet? That doesn't seem right either.
Anyway, I hadn't thought this through at first, which led me to realize that I couldn't write it that way when I was writing it.
To ensure logical consistency, they took this roundabout approach, going through a long detour, letting the orcs fight each other. By breaking down established social hierarchies, they no longer portray the protagonist as disrupting a foreign planet's regime.
The logic is correct, but the protagonist's highlights are lacking...
Yeah, I still lack experience; I only realize my mistakes when I'm writing.
If this scenario were, for example, they were in interstellar space, discovered some people who had been sold, rescued them, and displayed great power, that would normally be the plot, right? I've seen it like that before, so that's how I think about it.
But after entering the planet, he found it really wouldn't work. His entire planet was like that.
It's like an alien ape suddenly showing up on Earth, seeing people abusing animals, then liberating the animals and killing the people. To humans, isn't that just a senseless invasion? The protagonist can't do something like that.
In short... no matter what, this planet is nearing its end.
I'm actually not very satisfied with it.
Many things weren't described in detail. For example, the details of humanity's enslavement. I wanted to portray that antagonistic hatred more clearly, to make it more impactful. But if I did that, the protagonist's indifference would be illogical, right?
There's also Crystal City, which originally had a scene where the protagonist discovers people being experimented on, leading to a conflict. However, due to the reasons mentioned earlier, it was only briefly mentioned in the narrative.
So in the end, it turned out like this: that seemingly stagnant pool of water, with emotions fermenting beneath the surface.
I laid a lot of groundwork beforehand, and there were some deeper, more subtle expressions, but I may not have written them well, and you might not have noticed them.
I initially planned to delve deeper into the story. That would have made it more vivid, with more plot points in each section, making it more complete and better than it is now. But that would have resulted in a very long story like "Period of the Stars," where one planet takes a year to write about, and I was afraid of that, so I stopped there.
I still plan to spend two or three months on one planet. This way, everyone will feel a sense of novelty, the pace won't be too slow, and I won't feel too much pressure.
Sigh~ I hope this planet hasn't been too boring for you guys.
Keep up the good work!
In my life, it seems like there's nothing particularly special besides learning modeling and writing novels.
The wound is healing slowly and it hurts very little now; it's entered the scar-prevention phase. It's going to be a hassle, taking three to six months, and just thinking about it makes me agonize. Because it's on my back, it's very inconvenient for me to do it myself.
But since you decided to have the surgery, you have to take care of the aftermath. Take care of your body and don't give yourself a chance to regret it later.
Speaking of health, I was planning to buy New Year's goods yesterday, then I asked the AI what to buy, and before I knew it, I ended up buying health supplements instead, hahaha...
It's like multivitamins, fish oil, etc., supposedly to reduce inflammation. My hands have been hurting a lot lately, and ointments aren't helping. It also contains lutein, which is supposed to help with eyesight and sleep...
Is buying health supplements a sign of getting older? Haha, have I already become an old lady?
Hopefully, eating this will actually be beneficial to my health.
Ugh, I hate taking medicine, especially those big pills. It makes me feel full without even eating.
The Lunar New Year is approaching, and I want to rest, but I don't dare to ask for leave. I plan to try to save up some manuscripts.
I want to rest, that's one thing, but I haven't rested in so long. Even though it's only one chapter a day, I've only taken three days off last year for medical treatment, so I guess I'm pretty good at it. Writing every day feels like a rubber band being stretched to its limit.
On the other hand, I thought that since this planet is finished, there would be enough time to refine the ideas for the next planet, so that I wouldn't end up like Anniemo, who wrote them down only to find they didn't work and had to revise them halfway through.
Ideally, after a planet ends, there's a brief period to clear your mind before starting a new one. I feel that this way, both your mental and physical state will be better.
But this part of the story is probably the hardest to write. The incompetent author has run out of ideas. I'm pulling out my hair every day to keep updating. Stockpiled chapters? Wish me luck.
Okay, enough rambling. Let's get to the thank-you part.
