Chapter 131
The altar rises, to prove the Emperor's identity.
Chapter 131 The altar rises, to prove the Emperor's identity.
Time flies, and decades have passed in the blink of an eye.
On this day, Fuxi had a premonition and interrupted the meeting.
"Everyone, the matters have been discussed to a near conclusion. After I attain enlightenment, Shennong will become the second human emperor of our human race."
"Shennong, you shall now go and prepare the altar. In the meantime, I shall make the necessary preparations."
Shennong bowed to Fuxi and accepted the task of setting up the altar.
"We will not let our sovereign down."
Fuxi nodded slightly and left the main hall.
Shennong watched Fuxi's departing figure until he could no longer see him, then clasped his hands in a salute to the tribal leaders and smiled, "From now on, I will ask for your help."
"Shennong, you are too kind. This is what we should do."
The altar was completed quickly, and the leaders looked at the stone steps before them with great satisfaction.
Shennong finally felt relieved. He glanced at the leaders around him, calmed himself down, and said, "Everyone, I will now go and consult the sovereign to confirm the date of my enlightenment."
"This is the first time our human race has attained enlightenment, and we must ensure that all our people witness this grand occasion."
"Once the date is confirmed, please pass it on."
Upon hearing Shennong's words, the other leaders were not to be outdone. "Alright, we'll wait here for your news. Once you've set a date, we'll immediately return to the tribe so that everyone can participate."
Shennong nodded slightly and then left the altar.
Outside Fuxi's cave,
Shennong looked at the rather simple cave dwelling before him, bowed, and hesitated, wondering if he might disturb the sovereign. He kept pacing back and forth in front of the cave dwelling.
Inside the cave, Fuxi seemed to sense something and opened his eyes.
"Shennong, is the altar all set up?"
Shennong was startled when he heard the voice, but then overjoyed. "Lord, the altar is ready."
"Because this is a great event for our human race, we would like to confirm the date with you so that all our people can participate."
Fuxi understood Shennong's thoughts, and immediately closed his eyes slightly, his hands constantly making calculations.
"Fifteen days from now will be the time for me to attain enlightenment. You should prepare yourself then so that I can abdicate the throne of the Human Emperor to you."
Shennong had been by Fuxi's side for so long that he had long known this day would come. When Fuxi attained enlightenment, it would be time for Shennong to be bestowed his title.
"Lord, I will now inform the leaders of the date."
Fuxi watched Shennong turn away nimbly, and seeing that he did not feign modesty or make excuses, he was even more satisfied with him.
.........
The day soon arrived when Fuxi attained enlightenment and abdicated in favor of Shennong.
Fuxi, dressed in simple plain clothes, stood in the center of the altar, looking at the sea of people and their joyful faces, and was immediately moved.
"Today is the day I attain enlightenment, and also the day Shennong is crowned the supreme ruler of the human race."
"Now, let's officially begin."
Fuxi lit incense, prayed to heaven and earth, and invited all the sages and great supernatural beings to come here to witness the ceremony.
Not long after the incense was lit, Xuandu, who was in seclusion, immediately sensed something.
Xuan Du withdrew his divine sense, did some calculations with his fingers, and was first startled, then overjoyed.
"I never imagined that today would be the day Fuxi attained enlightenment. As his teacher, I cannot be absent from such an important moment."
Xuandu immediately transformed into a streak of light and arrived at the scene.
After Xuandu stopped, he walked quickly to Fuxi's side, looking at him with joy, "Fuxi, congratulations on finally reaching the stage of proving the Dao."
When Fuxi saw Xuandu, he was overjoyed. He had thought that his teacher was in seclusion and would not come, but he did not expect that his teacher would come out of seclusion specifically for him.
Fuxi looked at Xuandu with emotion, bowed to him, and excitedly grasped his hand, "Teacher, it's been so long, I never expected you to come."
Suirenshi, who was standing beside Xuandu, was also pleasantly surprised to see him. "Xuandu, I didn't expect you to have emerged from seclusion as well."
Xuandu glanced at Suirenshi and burst into laughter, "Since you're here, I can't be absent."
Fuxi looked at the two with a smile. To him, they were like teachers and fathers. Now that they were both here, he felt a sense of fulfillment.
"Teacher, Suirenshi, you may take your seats at the front."
Xuandu and Suirenshi exchanged a glance and shook their heads in refusal. "It's alright. If the Sage comes later, it will be better if we are by your side."
Hearing Xuandu say this, Fuxi had no choice but to continue praying.
Soon, the other sages also sensed it, and Nuwa was the first to react.
Sensing the celestial incense lit by Fuxi, Nuwa was overjoyed. "Colorful Phoenix, today is the day Fuxi attained enlightenment. Please take me to the place where Fuxi attained enlightenment."
A phoenix's cry came from afar, circling around Nuwa once. Nuwa looked at the colorful phoenixes surrounding her and gently stroked its feathers.
Cai Feng felt Nuwa's touch and obediently knelt down to the side, waiting for Nuwa to come up to her.
Nuwa stood atop the colorful phoenix, saying, "Colorful phoenix, go now."
The colorful phoenix raised its head, let out a long cry, and flew towards the place where Fuxi had attained enlightenment.
A rainbow appeared on the horizon, and a phoenix flew down from the sky, accompanied by auspicious clouds. Instantly, countless golden flowers fell from the sky and scattered everywhere, filling the air with fragrance.
The ancient people standing on the ground stared blankly at the horizon. They were startled by the strange sight that filled the sky, not knowing what had happened.
When Xuandu and Suirenshi saw this scene and looked at the colorful phoenix, they knew that the sage Nuwa had arrived.
Xuandu looked at the golden flowers and knew that they would be of great benefit to the human race. "Catch the golden flowers, catch as many as you can. These golden flowers can help you regulate your bodies."
As everyone watched the golden flowers fill the sky, upon hearing Xuan Du's words, they immediately cupped the golden flowers in their hands and examined them curiously. Before they could react, the golden flowers in their hands merged into their bodies.
Everyone felt a warm current flowing through their bodies, and some of their ailments dissipated, leaving them feeling refreshed and much more energetic.
As the sage Nuwa was about to arrive, she transformed into a streak of light and appeared on the altar. At the same time, a colorful phoenix circled the altar several times before returning to the sky.
When Xuandu and Jinling Shengmu saw Nuwa, they immediately led Fuxi and Shennong to pay their respects. When Suirenshi saw Nuwa, although he was somewhat displeased by her previous indifference towards the human race, he still bowed to her because she was, after all, a saint.
"Welcome, Aunt Nuwa, the Sage Nuwa."
Nuwa looked at the group of people before her, and when she saw Fuxi bowing his head, her eyes flickered slightly. "Nephew Xuandu and Nephew Jinling are also here, quite competent indeed. Suiren, you have worked hard to develop the human race over the past few hundred years."
"Fuxi, today is a great day for you to attain enlightenment; you will surely achieve your wish."
Fuxi felt somewhat flattered by Nuwa's blessing, but he accepted it nonetheless.
He gently led her to her seat, bowed to her again, and said, "Grandmaster Nuwa, please take a seat."
Nuwa listened to Fuxi's words with mixed feelings, but she knew that the person in front of her had not regained his memory. She nodded slightly and said nothing more.
