Chapter 3
: The Three Sages Preach, Demonstrating Heaven-Defying Enlightenment.
Chapter 3: The Three Sages Preach the Dao, and Their Heaven-Defying Enlightenment.
Chen Qing walked slowly until he reached the top of the Heavenly Ladder. Looking up at the summit of Kunlun Mountain, a sense of reverence rose in his heart.
The summit of Kunlun Mountain is the abode of the Three Pure Ones. Throughout the primordial world, all living beings yearn to enter Kunlun Mountain and become disciples of the sages. Now, he has come to this place.
Moreover, he not only entered Kunlun Mountain, but also became a disciple of the Sage Tongtian. Although he was an outer disciple of the Jie Sect, an outer disciple was still a disciple of the Sage and could hear the Sage explain the Great Dao.
At the summit of Kunlun Mountain, hundreds of people stood there, all looking towards the Heavenly Ladder.
They knew very well that the appearance of the Heavenly Ladder meant that someone had passed the test and become a disciple of a saint, who would also be their junior brother. Although they did not know whose disciple this junior brother had become, it did not stop them from waiting here.
They waited, waiting for that figure to appear, intending to see what kind of background the newcomer had and how advanced their cultivation was.
But when Chen Qing appeared, they were all taken aback when they saw him.
They could tell at a glance that Chen Qing was merely a human, a being born after birth, and his cultivation level was only at the Refining Void Realm. They didn't know how he had become a disciple of a sage.
At this moment, everyone was surprised and looked at Chen Qing with astonishment, clearly shocked.
When Chen Qing arrived at the top of Kunlun Mountain, he looked at the crowd standing in the void and understood that these people had all become disciples of the sage and were his senior brothers and sisters.
Chen Qing glanced at everyone and politely bowed to them.
"My name is Chen Qing. With the permission of the Sage Tongtian, I have become his disciple. I greet all my fellow disciples."
Seeing Chen Qing's attitude and his polite manner, everyone returned the greeting.
Although some people looked down on Chen Qing, they kept it to themselves and didn't show it on their faces. After all, no one could say for sure what kind of achievements he would have in the future if he could become a disciple of a sage.
At this moment, a man stepped forward, looked at Chen Qing, and had a stern expression.
"I am the chief disciple personally taught by the Sage Tongtian, and also the chief disciple of the Jie Sect. My name is Duobao."
"Now that you have become my disciple, stand behind me."
Upon hearing this, Chen Qing respectfully bowed to Duobao, then walked towards his location and stood behind him.
Chen Qing knew very well that the direction in which the hundred people were standing represented the different disciples of the three religions.
At this time, he was a disciple of the Jie Sect, so he should naturally stand behind Duobao.
After Chen Qing returned to the Jie Sect's camp, everyone's curiosity subsided, and the summit of Kunlun Mountain returned to tranquility. Everyone began to cultivate and stopped talking.
Seeing this, Chen Qing also sat cross-legged and began to meditate and regulate his breathing. Although he did not have any cultivation techniques at this time, he was still able to do basic breathing exercises.
He had previously tried to create his own cultivation method, and had also observed the sun, moon, mountains and rivers, the earth, the growth of plants, the cultivation of strange beasts, and all things in heaven and earth, in an attempt to create a cultivation technique, but all of these efforts were in vain.
Now he can only close his eyes and regulate his breathing, absorbing innate spiritual energy and refining it slowly.
In the blink of an eye, ten years have passed quietly.
"The apprenticeship ceremony is over. You may all leave."
A voice resounded throughout the primordial world, reaching the ears of all living beings there.
At the summit of Kunlun Mountain, the people who were cultivating also heard this sound and opened their eyes.
"You shall all come to the Sanqing Palace."
Hearing the sound, everyone stood up, lined up, and headed towards the Sanqing Palace.
As the group entered the Sanqing Palace, they looked at the three people sitting on the prayer mats above and respectfully performed the master-disciple etiquette.
"Greetings to my eldest uncle, teacher (second uncle), and teacher (third uncle)."
Hearing the voices of the crowd, the three sages opened their eyes, glanced at everyone, and then slowly spoke.
"Now that you have become disciples of the Three Pure Ones, you must guard against arrogance and impetuosity and diligently cultivate yourselves."
"The cultivation of the Great Dao is not something that can be accomplished in a day or two, but rather in the long run. Only by maintaining a firm Daoist heart can one achieve something in the future."
After saying this, the three saints glanced at the crowd and then spoke again.
"This time, the three of us will preach for three thousand years. How much you can comprehend depends on yourselves."
Upon hearing this, everyone respectfully bowed to the three saints, then sat cross-legged on the ground, listening intently.
The three sages glanced at the crowd, and then Yuqing Yuanshi and Shangqing Tongtian flicked their fingers, and hundreds of rays of light appeared.
"This is the Jade Purity True Scripture, the cultivation method of my Chan Sect. You should study it carefully."
"This is the Shangqing True Scripture, the cultivation method of our Jie Sect. You should study it carefully."
However, a new cultivation method appeared in everyone's minds, which belonged to their respective sects.
Just as everyone was trying to understand, Lao Tzu spoke up and began to explain the Great Dao.
When a sage preaches, it is extraordinary; as soon as he opens his mouth, countless extraordinary phenomena appear.
Flowers rained down from the sky, golden lotuses sprang from the ground, and the Daoist essence filled the Sanqing Palace. The sounds of the Dao transformed into auspicious beasts such as dragons, phoenixes, and unicorns, galloping through the Sanqing Palace, roaring in mid-air, and showering down endless holy light.
A huge pillar of light appeared behind Lao Tzu, within which countless rays of light flowed continuously.
Each ray of light was an outpouring of the power of the laws he had comprehended.
The teachings of Lao Tzu, progressing from the easy to the difficult, starting with the initial stage of Qi Refining, were explained in this way only because Chen Qing was present.
At the pulpit, the crowd listened with such rapt attention that they were completely absorbed in the Great Way.
[Because you heard the sage explain the Great Dao, and with your extraordinary comprehension, you can comprehend the cultivation methods and the Shangqing True Scripture.]
At this moment, Chen Qing was overjoyed. His extraordinary comprehension was just the right time for him.
At this moment, he already knew that if he could not become a disciple of a sage and hear the sage explain the Great Dao, then this heaven-defying comprehension would never be awakened.
And he, having listened to the sage explain the Great Dao, has now awakened an extraordinary level of enlightenment.
In the primordial world, besides one's origins being of utmost importance, there is also comprehension. To comprehend the great Dao of Heaven and Earth is to value one's own comprehension.
Now, with his extraordinary comprehension, even though he is an acquired being, he is not unable to find a solution. In the future, when he transforms into an innate being, he will still be able to attain enlightenment.
Chen Qing was extremely excited at this moment. After a moment of joy, he suppressed his excitement and began to calm himself down, listening attentively to the great Dao spoken by Lao Tzu.
For him, this was an unparalleled opportunity. The sage preached the Dao, and countless beings in the primordial world had longed for it but could not obtain it.
Now that he has this opportunity, he should cherish it immensely.
