Chapter 2
Is this something a 9-year-old could do?
"Holy crap! There really are tanks!"
"Run! He's going to fire on us!"
When the group of police officers saw the dark muzzle of a cannon pointed at them from the courtyard, they trembled violently in fright.
This is no joke; who wouldn't be terrified in this situation?
Wang Yue swiftly drew his pistol, raised it high, and shouted, "Listen up, you people inside, get out here right now, or I'll shoot!"
Zhou Mei quickly pushed open the door, hugged Wu Qing tightly, and hid behind the wall.
Everyone was on high alert. This was the first time they had felt the difference in strength between themselves and the "enemy," and the first time they had felt that the gun in the director's hand lacked any deterrent power.
Wu Zu, who was sitting in the tank's driver's cab, had no idea that the police would suddenly come knocking on his door.
However, when he saw his sister, he instantly understood why.
"That little girl, she really went to the police when she said she'd call them, no hesitation whatsoever. Two candies weren't enough to bribe her. Sigh! Looks like I'll have to give her four next time, but this will spoil her rotten..."
He shook his head helplessly, sighed, then turned off the tank, slowly opened the hatch, and climbed out.
When everyone saw that it was a little boy who crawled out of the tank, they were all stunned and at a loss for what to do.
He really is just a kid!
The tension in everyone's hearts eased a little.
"How old are you this year?"
Wang Yue looked Wu Zu up and down and couldn't help but ask.
Wu Zu jumped off the tank, dusted himself off, and replied, "Nine years old."
"Nine years old?"
Everyone's gaze shifted back and forth between the little boy and the unfamiliar tank, their minds still a bit foggy.
A nine-year-old child can actually handle a tank? Are kids these days really that amazing?
Wang Yue immediately straightened his face, pointed at the tank in front of him, and asked seriously, "Where did this tank come from?"
"It's right here in my factory workshop," Wu Zu replied.
Upon hearing this, Wang Yue immediately headed towards the factory.
Sure enough, there was a large hole in the factory, with a ramp at the entrance.
However, everyone's attention was quickly drawn to a worktable in the distance.
The entire factory was a mess, covered in cobwebs, and oil was spilled everywhere.
But the workbench was spotless and neatly arranged, filled with all sorts of tools, many of which no one could even name.
What shocked everyone even more was that there was a huge shell casing on the worktable.
Wang Yue picked up the calipers on the table, took a measurement, and his eyes widened instantly.
"A 125mm shell!"
He racked his brains, but couldn't recall when the Chinese army had ever been equipped with such large-caliber artillery shells.
He carefully put down the calipers, turned to look at Wu Zu standing in the doorway, and asked, "Where...where did this come from?"
"Oh, I made it all myself. This shell casing was left over from the exploding shell. Don't damage it, we'll need it later," Wu Zu said.
Everyone was speechless upon hearing this.
He actually wanted to fire again?
Wang Yue turned to the police officer beside him and instructed, "Guard this place well; these things are very important."
"Yes!" the police officer replied.
Then, Wang Yue walked out of the workshop and his gaze fell on the collapsed wall.
He had served in the military for several years, and although he had never driven a tank, he still had some understanding of its power.
But the power of this tank seems a bit too weak, doesn't it?
After all, those were 125mm shells. One shot only managed to knock half of the wall off course.
He turned to look at Wu Zu, who was wiping the soot off his face, and asked, "Are you sure you made this shell yourself?"
Wu Zu nodded: "That's right, I modified the tank and made the shells myself. Don't worry, police officers, they are all blanks and won't hurt anyone."
As soon as he finished speaking, the factory fell silent.
Goodness, he modified the tank and made the shells. This kid's abilities are beyond imagination.
Wang Yue frowned slightly: "If blank rounds don't hurt anyone, then how did the wall collapse?"
"Uh...it's probably because the pressure in the cannon barrel was too high, and the airflow pushed it over," Wu Zu explained.
Everyone looked at each other in bewilderment. Wang Yue felt that his years of military service couldn't compare to the exciting experiences of this young man.
"How did you manage to drive this tank out?" Wang Yue asked again.
"Oh, that's easy. First, press the brake, then shift into gear, then release the handbrake, slowly release the brake, then gently press the accelerator, and finally steer..."
As Wu Zu spoke, he used his hands and feet to simulate driving a tank.
This scene left everyone present speechless with astonishment.
I initially thought he was bragging, but it turns out he actually can drive a tank!
Is this still a nine-year-old child?
For a moment, everyone was so shocked that they couldn't speak.
After pondering for a long time, Wang Yue finally began to assign tasks.
"You few stay here and don't let anyone near you."
"Zhou Mei, take two people and take these two children home first. See if their parents are there and ask them what happened."
"I'm going to the county armed forces department now. I must report this matter. It's too dangerous to leave the tank here. We need to deal with it as soon as possible."
After assigning tasks, Wang Yue glanced at Wu Zu again: "Are you sure you weren't lying to me just now?"
Wu Zu quickly shook his head: "No, Officer, um... could I try again? The size was a little off just now..."
The police officers present looked helpless upon hearing this.
He actually wanted to have sex again. Did he think things hadn't gotten big enough?
"Of course not! Take it away, take it away right now!"
Wang Yue felt a headache coming on, waved his hand, and everyone went about their own business.
Wu Qing sat on the small seat that had been added to the back of Zhou Mei's bicycle, making a face at Wu Zu: "When we get home, Grandpa will spank you until your bottom is a bloody pulp, hmph!"
Looking at his younger sister's mischievous antics, Wu Zu felt utterly exhausted: "It's all your fault! I'm never buying you candy again!"
"Hehehe!" Wu Qing stuck out her tongue.
After returning home, Wu Zu rushed to his room, picked up the teapot on the table, and gulped down the tea.
He had been busy all day without a drop of water, and now he was both hungry and thirsty.
Just then, a sound came from the kitchen, and an old woman with gray hair came out.
Seeing Wu Zu pouring tea from the teapot into his mouth, the old lady looked helpless.
"Grandma, how many times have I told you to drink water slowly, don't choke..."
Before she could finish speaking, the old lady saw two police officers standing at the door and was slightly taken aback.
"Who are you two comrades...?"
Zhou Mei quickly stepped forward, smiling, and said, "It's this elderly lady, your grandson..."
The words were on the tip of her tongue, but she hesitated for a moment before finally gritting her teeth and telling the truth: "He got a tank from your old factory."
"Snap!"
The old lady dropped the bowl in her hand and rushed forward in a panic to check on Wu Zu.
"Grandma, how are you? Are you hurt? Let Grandma take a look!"
Wu Zu stretched his body and said, "It's alright, Grandma, I'm fine!"
Zhou Mei and her colleague exchanged a glance, both feeling a bit helpless and amused.
Why doesn't this old lady ask about the tank?
The old lady looked at Zhou Mei and the other woman with trembling hands and feet: "Comrades, please sit down for a while. I'm going to make a phone call to my husband at home."
