Chapter 177
: He rejected Fan Bingbing!
Chapter 177: He rejected Fan Bingbing!
Tang Lou was also curious about which unlucky guy he was originally going to eliminate.
He carefully selected all thirty of his sisters, including familiar faces like Annie Yi and Zhang Yuqi.
Without a second thought, the director of the artist management department blurted out, "Wang Xinling."
Upon hearing that it was Wang Xinling, Tang Lou was naturally not happy, as this was his trump card for the season!
After listening, Tang Lou gave an answer that surprised everyone present.
"Wang Xinling cannot be replaced. He is one of the guests I invited and is one of the main guests I plan to promote this season."
Tang Lou's words left no room for doubt: "Tell Fan Bingbing's team directly that we appreciate her attention, but the guest list is already finalized. There's a chance to collaborate next season."
"What?" The director of the artist management department was stunned. "President Tang, it's Fan Bingbing! How popular is she right now? She just won an award for 'I Am Not Madame Bovary,' and although 'The Legend of Ba Qing' hasn't aired yet, it's getting a lot of attention! Wang Xinling hasn't had a hit in years."
"Furthermore, according to our discussion on the popularity and commercial value ranking of the thirty sisters, Wang Xinling is at the very bottom. Why use Fan Bingbing when we can use Wang Xinling, especially since Fan Bingbing's side took the initiative to come over?"
"If we reject her, it will be very difficult to cooperate with her in the future."
Fan Bingbing is currently enjoying immense popularity, and in the eyes of normal industry professionals, Wang Xinling is completely incomparable to Fan Bingbing.
"Wang Xinling hasn't had a phenomenal work since 2016," another director added. "Her most recent appearance on trending topics was due to dating rumors. From a market perspective, Fan Bingbing is definitely a better fit."
Tang Lou looked at them: "So you mean to replace Wang Xinling with Fan Bingbing?"
"Of course," the director of the artist management department replied decisively.
"Not considering it." Tang Lou said decisively, "Wang Xinling is one of the core guests I personally selected, and I won't change her."
"Why?" the director of the artist management department exclaimed anxiously. "President Tang, this is a 3 million investment! We have to be responsible to the investors! Fan Bingbing's popularity is real!"
The director's loss of composure was, of course, partly due to her own ulterior motives. After all, Fan Bingbing was the person she was in charge of, and if things went smoothly, she would certainly get a promotion and a raise. In her view, it was a sure-fire, risk-free decision.
Faced with his subordinate's insistence, Tang Lou had no choice but to exercise his authority and veto Fan Bingbing's proposal.
"I've already made up my mind about this. Wang Xinling is a must-invite, but Fan Bingbing is refusing all cooperation."
Unable to explain the real reason, Tang Lou had no choice but to exercise his rights.
Fortunately, he is now the boss of Cool Cat. If Shen Yan were still alive, he might have really replaced Wang Xinling with Fan Bingbing.
Upon hearing that Tang Lou had made the decision, the directors all lowered their heads helplessly.
The director of the artist management department was somewhat unwilling, but had no choice but to accept it.
She didn't know how to explain this to Fan Bingbing, especially since she had managed to connect with such a top-tier actress.
It's such a pity.
"Could it be that President Tang is a fan of Wang Xinling? Or has Fan Bingbing offended President Tang in some way?"
Seeing that everyone looked unconvinced, Tang Lou said a few simple words.
"I know you don't understand, and you're not convinced. But all I can say is that this is my intuition. For this show to succeed, it needs the power of authenticity," not the bubble of fleeting popularity. What Wang Xinling can bring to the audience is sentimentality, memories, and the surprise of "she's still here," an emotional value that Fan Bingbing can't provide.
Tang Lou concluded by saying, "I will take responsibility for this decision. The 30 sisters will remain on the original list, and we will continue to follow up on the remaining undecided ones. Meeting adjourned."
Tang Lou still holds considerable prestige. Since he took the lead and assumed this responsibility, the others can only cooperate.
The meeting ended somewhat unpleasantly.
After everyone left, Director Liang, a veteran employee of the Cool Cat Variety Department who had worked closely with Tang Lou on several previous variety shows, asked with some confusion.
"Mr. Tang, I've worked on so many projects with you. The last time you were so stubborn about using one person was with Dilraba back then."
"Do you really think highly of Wang Xinling? Besides, even if you keep Wang Xinling, you can easily replace her with another guest. Why are you so decisive in refusing to work with Fan Bingbing?"
"With Fan Bingbing's status and influence, if she could join our program, it would definitely attract a lot of attention."
Director Liang really doesn't understand.
Tang Lou revealed a little bit to these old friends.
"Director Liang, do you trust my judgment?"
Director Liang nodded: "Of course, Mr. Tang, your decision was never wrong. So, I'm also curious about the reasons that led you to make this decision."
"Anyway, from my point of view, Fan Bingbing is a very good candidate no matter what."
Tang Lou smiled slightly: "Fan Bingbing is indeed very suitable at the moment. But what about the future? There are too many uncertainties surrounding her."
Tang Lou couldn't go into specifics, but gave a general explanation: "Her business empire is too vast and too complex, and I've looked into her studio and her team; she's not..."
A stable, secure, and long-term partner.
Director Liang didn't know how President Tang knew, but he was certain that President Tang must have his own unique sources of information.
He wouldn't delve into the details of these things, but he was deeply moved and impressed.
No wonder President Tang was able to rise so quickly, and now he even holds positions in several business units. It seems that President Tang has a powerful figure behind him, or a strong network of contacts and information.
"Mr. Tang, I understand."
Director Liang also began to wonder what would happen to Fan Bingbing next.
And after Tang Lou made his decision.
According to Fan Bingbing's team on Weibo, it was an honor for the show to have them join "Sisters Who Make Waves," and there was no reason for them to refuse.
Therefore, the publicity team believed that this matter was a done deal, and it just so happened that KuMiao was also promoting its new program.
Fan Bingbing posted a message on her Weibo account: "I recently received some very interesting program plans. Thirty sisters will compete on the same stage. Looking forward to the new challenge~"
In the comments section, fans flooded the screen with questions: "Is my sister going to be on a variety show?"
"expect!"
"I'll watch any show that features Bingbing!"
"Thirty sisters, it seems that 'Sisters Who Make Waves' is an investment of more than 300 million yuan from Coolcat."
"I didn't expect this show to be so hardcore; even Bingbing is participating. I definitely have to watch it!"
Fan Bingbing's team was also very happy to see the fans' enthusiasm.
It seems that this collaboration between Fan Bingbing and Coolcat has been a win-win situation.
