Chapter 78

Buying You Flowers

"Madam, your flowers are ready."

The florist handed over the wrapped red roses, the pale pink wrapping paper making the roses even more vibrant.

The silver ribbon tied in the hair was made into an exquisite bow, showing great care.

Su Qiu reached out and took it, her fingertips touching the texture of the wrapping paper. She lowered her head and smelled it, the sweet floral fragrance filling her nostrils.

She looked up at the young woman, a faint smile playing on her lips:

"Yes, it's beautiful, thank you."

Just as Su Qiu was about to scan the code to pay, she seemed to suddenly remember something, paused for a moment, and asked:

"I want to order a bouquet of nine red roses like this every week from now on, and keep this style."

If I'm too busy to come, I'll give you an address. Could you please deliver it to me then?

The young woman's eyes lit up instantly upon hearing this.

This is a long-term, big business opportunity! She nodded quickly, her tone becoming more enthusiastic:

"Of course! Guaranteed on-time delivery, and absolutely fresh!"

Su Qiu took out his phone and exchanged contact information with the young woman.

After carefully confirming the weekly flower delivery dates and prices, I decisively ordered a year's supply.

"Then, Mr. Su, shall we pay for six months in advance?" the young woman asked.

"No need, I'll pay in full at once."

As Su Qiu spoke, he scanned the entire year's expenses directly, his movements swift and decisive.

A notification sound rang on my phone.

The young woman's eyes widened as she looked at the amount deposited into her account, and she couldn't help but sigh inwardly:

This woman is beautiful, cool, rich, and so straightforward!

She quickly took out paper and pen, carefully wrote down the delivery address and instructions, and smiled exceptionally brightly:

"Don't worry, I will definitely do it according to your requirements, and there will be absolutely no mistakes!"

Su Qiu hummed in agreement, then turned and walked out of the flower shop, clutching the bouquet of red roses.

Sunlight fell on the petals, refracting into delicate shimmer, much like the gentle gaze Shen Yi occasionally revealed.

……

Su Qiu's villa was quiet.

The afternoon sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting long, dappled patterns on the floor.

Shen Yi turned over in his sleep, feeling that the space beside him was empty and something was missing, making his sleep very restless.

He suddenly opened his eyes and instinctively reached to his side.

It was icy cold to the touch, with no familiar temperature.

Su Qiu is not here.

A nameless panic gripped his heart instantly.

Shen Yi struggled to sit up, feeling weak, probably from expending too much energy last night and at noon.

He grabbed a sheet from the side of the bed and wrapped it around himself, then walked barefoot out of the bedroom.

He hurried down the corridor, searching for that familiar figure.

"That damn woman, she didn't run away while I was asleep again, did she?"

He cursed under his breath, but his tone betrayed a barely perceptible hint of panic.

Upon entering the living room, he immediately spotted the maid wiping the decorative items and went over to ask:

"Where's Su Qiu? Where did she go?"

The maid was startled by his appearance and quickly replied:

"Miss Su... left two hours ago."

Two hours ago, he had fallen into a deep sleep.

Shen Yi felt as if something had tugged at his heart, and a surge of inexplicable grievance welled up within him.

He bit his lower lip and muttered under his breath, "Damn it, he ran away again!"

They didn't even say hello.

He stood in the center of the living room, his figure wrapped in a bed sheet, looking somewhat thin, with a hint of bewilderment in his eyes.

How long will she be gone?

Will it come back this time?

Will I get hurt again?

Shen Yi stood in the center of the living room wrapped in a bed sheet, his eyes vacant.

Like a forgotten child, she didn't even notice when the servants walked by quietly.

The afternoon sunlight fell on his exposed neck, outlining its delicate lines.

The several bite marks, some deep and some shallow, on her thighs stood out against her fair skin, hinting at something ambiguous.

The silence was broken by the soft click of the door lock turning.

Su Qiu pushed the door open and immediately saw Shen Yi standing there.

He walked barefoot on the cold marble floor, the bed sheet loosely wrapped around his body.

Her exposed long legs had smooth lines, and she exuded a melancholy air.

But the moment I saw her...

Shen Yi's eyes suddenly lit up, like sparks ignited, bringing his whole being to life.

"Su Qiu! Where did you run off to?"

His voice was a little hoarse, as if he hadn't woken up yet.

There's also a subtle, almost imperceptible softness.

Despite feeling sore and weak, he still strode towards Su Qiu.

The sheets slipped down a bit with the movement, revealing more of her smooth skin.

Seeing his expression, Su Qiu's lips unconsciously curled up, and she raised the red rose in her hand and waved it:

"I'm going out to buy you flowers."

She handed the flowers to Shen Yi, and the bright red roses made the light in his eyes shine even brighter.

Shen Yi was stunned. He subconsciously looked down and counted. There were exactly nine flowers, no more and no less.

An indescribable emotion welled up inside me, like cotton soaked in warm water, soft and fluffy.

He angrily accepted the bouquet, but his words were still sharp:

"That's too little, it's not like you're broke!"

Even so, I still lowered my head and took a gentle sniff, the sweet floral fragrance lingering around my nose.

It turns out she went to buy flowers for herself.

Su Qiu's gaze fell on his bare feet, her brows furrowing slightly.

"Why aren't you wearing shoes? Isn't the marble floor cold?"

"Mind your own business!" Shen Yi turned his face away, but his ears turned red.

Before he could say anything more, Su Qiu suddenly bent down and picked him up in her arms.

Shen Yi exclaimed in surprise, clutching the bouquet tightly in one hand and instinctively wrapping his other arm around Su Qiu's neck.

His cheek pressed against her chest, his voice trembling with panic: "Put me down, I can walk by myself!"

Su Qiu ignored him and placed him directly on the sofa.

The maid quickly brought slippers and placed them beside his feet.

"Put them on," Su Qiu said, her tone leaving no room for argument. "I won't be responsible if you catch a cold."

Shen Yi looked at her, then looked down at the slippers beside his feet.

Without arguing further, she silently slipped her feet in, the warm touch dispelling the chill from her soles.

He looked down at the red roses in his arms, and a slight smile crept onto his lips.

Su Qiu watched Shen Yi obediently put on his slippers, pursed her lips, and uttered two words:

"Promising."

As she spoke, she casually pulled the sheet that had slipped off Shen Yi's body back up, wrapping him up tightly.

Only its head was visible.

Shen Yi snorted in dissatisfaction: "What, afraid someone will see?"

Su Qiu raised an eyebrow, her tone slightly mocking: "If you're so capable, why don't you run around naked right now and see what happens?"

"you!"

Shen Yi was taken aback, then kicked Su Qiu's shin with a light but forceful kick, which carried a hint of coquetry.

"Shut up! Carry me to the bedroom, I need to change my clothes."

"Aren't you going back to sleep?"

Su Qiu looked at the ambiguous red marks on his neck, her eyes darkened, and her throat inexplicably became dry.

"After all that work, aren't you tired?"

Shen Yi felt a little embarrassed by her gaze; his cheeks flushed slightly, his eyes darted away, and his voice softened.

"You...you're not here, I...I can't sleep."

He paused, looked up at Su Qiu, his eyes filled with a mixture of probing and anticipation.

"Girlfriend...can you sleep a little longer with me?"

The softness in her voice was like a kitten's paw gently scratching at my heart.

Su Qiu's heart stirred slightly. She stopped teasing him and bent down to pick him up again.

"Let's go, change our clothes and go to sleep."

Shen Yi buried his face in the crook of her neck, a secret smile playing on his lips.

She was still clutching the bouquet of red roses tightly in her hand, as if afraid someone would snatch them away.
