Chapter 7

6 copper coins

"With these two spells, I can easily impersonate a mage."

"Furthermore, things like guiding others to discover the dungeons they've summoned will become easier."

Lou Le was making plans for the future; she really wanted to try out her magic.

It's like getting a new gun; you'd definitely be tempted to pull the trigger.

But this place is still not suitable for exposure.

With a sigh, Lou Le bent down to pick up trash again. She hadn't forgotten why she came to pick up trash today: to earn money and fill her stomach.

For Lou Le, the garbage dump was a treasure trove.

A bloodstained wooden dagger, a half-rotten poisonous mushroom, former roof tiles, rotten tree branches that have re-rooted, a dead toad, and a crushed insect...

These things are garbage and have no value to other people.

However, for Lou Le, they were all alchemical materials.

They can influence the course of the drug, in varying degrees and to varying extents.

"But can anything made from this stuff really be drunk?"

Lou Le was somewhat worried.

But then she was relieved: "Anyway, I'm not the one drinking it, so I can't guarantee the taste, but I can definitely guarantee the effects."

"Hmm, I think that should be possible."

The little witch was a little nervous, but her talent proved that it really worked!

He wrapped one arm around himself, piling up all the trash in his arms. With his other hand, he continued rummaging through the pile of trash, but after searching for a long time, he only found more alchemy materials.

For example, things like broken stepping stones, the carcasses of starving rats, and rotten old ropes from wellheads can all be used as alchemy materials.

After collecting many, the little witch discovered the patterns in the alchemy materials.

Aside from normal alchemical materials, other alchemical materials are generally strange, containing something mysterious and that has existed for a long time.

She carried this huge pile of garbage over the city wall and entered the area inside.

The other beggars who were scavenging for trash couldn't help but laugh when they saw what Lou Le was carrying.

He glanced at Lou Le with disdain; those guys were still smugly showing off what they had found.

Some of them were just a piece of cloth tied to the beggar's arm.

Some were happily holding up a rusty dagger, shouting triumphantly, "I found iron! Look, it's iron!"

This angered the other beggars, who cursed him, saying, "May the monk kick your knees hard, you damned bastard!"

Lou Le, carrying this garbage, prepared to leave the landfill.

There wasn't a single container to be found in this garbage dump! Not even a speck of iron filings! A lot of effort was wasted, and Lou Le's legs were so tired they were weak.

Meanwhile, the well-dressed old man at the garbage dump was sitting in a chair, dozing off, drool dripping onto his white beard, looking extremely slovenly.

But as Lou Le left, the old man opened his eyes and glanced at him; "Another one trying to take advantage of the garbage dump, damn it."

He muttered to himself, quite dissatisfied. He was also angrily thinking—if only you weren't picking up the absolute worst of the worst trash, I would definitely have someone beat you up.

After grumbling to himself, he began to doze off again.

The town of Ghostwood is structured like concentric rings, with the outer ring divided into four areas, and the inner ring also divided into four areas. The outer ring is larger, and the inner ring is smaller.

The inner ring area adjacent to the warehouse area is the commercial area, and the inner ring area next to the commercial area is the aristocratic area.

Below the commercial district lies the civilian district, where townspeople with some assets and relatively wealthy adventurers reside.

Below the noble district is the mage district, where the mage lords reside, the school of Ghostwood Town, and alchemists live.

A small river also runs through the noble district, the mage district, and the commercial district of Ghostwood Town.

Lou Le carried a large pile of garbage and placed it by the river.

She then untied the strips of cloth that had been wrapped around her feet, which were now covered in a thick layer of mud and dust. Because the smell was so unbearable, she simply threw them aside.

The mud that had been smeared on my legs had long since dried, and with all the walking, the dried mud layer had developed numerous cracks.

After washing your legs and feet thoroughly.

She then unwrapped the mud-covered cloth that had been covering her hair and threw it aside. After that, she washed her face, transforming herself from a ragged little beggar into a poor young girl.

"Phew, that feels good."

After doing all that, he took out a roll of linen bandage from his satchel and wrapped it around his feet. He used up the roll after wrapping both feet.

Clutching the trash she had collected, she headed toward the edge of the commercial district, to a shop with a wooden sign that read "Broken Pot."

Inside was an old man with a white beard. The shop was small, with all sorts of odds and ends hanging on the walls. In the corners were piles of things that looked useful but were probably useless in reality.

"That pile of garbage you're holding won't fetch much money in my hands."

The old man glanced at you and said impatiently, "If it weren't for the fact that you're dressed quite neatly and haven't dirtied my floor, I would have kicked you out long ago. Get out of here."

Lou Le pulled out a discarded candlestick, a broken pair of scissors, six crooked nails, and some tattered pieces of clothing from his bag.

After placing them all on the counter, she waited for the old man's evaluation.

She dug all of these out of the garbage dump, especially those six iron nails; removing them from the wooden plank almost killed Lou Le.

Although he has now gained power, Lou Le feels that it is not yet time to use it.

He orchestrated a scam to draw the adventurers' attention to the dungeon he had summoned.

She's incredibly curious about the trash the witches throw away, but because of the danger, she really doesn't dare go alone.

The old man rummaged through the items: "The broken candlestick, melted down for recycling, will be worth about two copper coins. The rotten scissors, also only worth one copper coin for recycling. Six iron nails, barely usable, will be worth three copper coins."

"Six copper coins in total."

After the old man finished speaking, he turned to the person in front of him and asked, "Do you want money directly, or something else?"

He pointed to the items in the shop: "You can take a look yourself, the prices are all quite cheap."

Lou Le asked, "Do you have any earthenware pots?"

"I have one." The old man pulled a badly chipped earthenware pot from the corner of the wall. "Here, I'll sell it to you for two copper coins."

Lou Le took a look and found that it was barely usable.

Do you have any shoes?

The little witch asked the old man.

"Leather boots are at least twenty copper coins." The old man yawned. "Wooden shoes are three copper coins."

"So expensive!"

Lou Le was somewhat surprised.

The old man didn't bother to answer such a question for Lou Le.

Lou Le gritted his teeth and asked for a wooden shoe.

Finally, she had only one copper coin left. She put on her shoes, picked up the earthenware pot, and left.

He placed the sticky, moist alchemical materials into an earthenware jar. Then he put the dry materials into his satchel.

Lou Le then took a copper coin, preparing to go and get something to eat.
