Chapter 10 0010 The Legendary Figure [The White Horse Knight] (Please continue reading)

"My dear Baron Levi-Snecke, the Month of Flowers is just around the corner, and the Silverfrost Flowers of Silvermoon Territory will soon be in full bloom. I cordially invite you to this year's noble ball hosted by me..."

The letter was from Baron Fox of the neighboring Silvermoon Territory.

"Do you want to go?"

"Sir Fred asked."

"I'm not going."

Li Wei decisively refused.

"Then I'll have someone write a letter politely declining."

Knight Fred turned and left.

"I'm still too weak. If I go to the ball alone and get targeted, I'll most likely not be able to escape. But if I go with Knight Fred, who will guard this territory?"

There are no high-speed trains in this world, and coupled with the inconvenient roads, it would take at least one or two days to travel back and forth.

Livy himself had no interest in aristocratic balls.

This is nothing more than a pointless social activity used by the world's nobles to show off their superiority.

When he was a child, his father took him to a noble ball hosted by the Duke of Montenegro, where he witnessed the hypocrisy of these nobles.

"You'd be better off spending that time grinding for skill points."

After saying that, Li Wei continued his cultivation.

Staying in the territory is safe and comfortable.

……

Time flies, and May, the month of flowers, has arrived.

After crossing several mountains, about two hundred miles south of Blackwater Valley lies Silvermoon Territory.

Baron Fox is the owner of this territory.

This was the day Baron Fox hosted a noble ball.

Within the Silver Moon Territory, on a hillside where silver frost flowers bloom in abundance.

Young noblemen and ladies, dressed in bright colors, admired flowers, drank fine wine, ate roast meat, danced aristocratic dances, and chatted about trivial gossip.

"I heard that the Duke of Black Mountain's youngest daughter is engaged to Edward, the royal knight on the white horse."

"My God, this is too good! Edward the White Horse Knight, a great knight who is only twenty-five years old and is hailed as the most promising figure in the royal family of this era to become a legendary knight."

"Although the White Horse Knight isn't a legendary knight, he's already a legendary figure in the royal family. He made his mark in the Thousand-Year Holy War, single-handedly slaying two Storm Knights from the Storm Church. He's now the dream lover and prince charming of every noble girl in the entire Emerald Kingdom. Hehe, I even dreamt last night that I was with the White Horse Knight on his unicorn... hehehe."

"Speaking of which, Blackwater Valley, north of my father's territory, also gave birth to a genius no less than the White Horse Knight. Many people thought he could become a legend, but he died in the Thousand-Year Holy War."

"You mean the Black Serpent Knight? The Black Serpent Knight is too old-fashioned. He couldn't forget his first love, his deceased wife, even until his death. He didn't marry more women to leave more bloodline descendants for the Snake family. He only left behind that spendthrift son, Levi."

"Yes, that Li Wei from the Black Serpent family is a spineless coward. He handed over my father's legacy to others with his own hands. He'll never amount to anything. Besides, my father invited him to a noble ball, but he refused to come. He doesn't give my father any face at all. That's so rude!" one of Baron Fox's daughters said angrily.

These aristocratic youths chatted and laughed, and as their conversation deepened, some of the young men and women, some of whom had gotten drunk, would go to the grove behind the hillside to do some frivolous things, engaging in deeper exchanges and connections.

Despite the constraints of the church, the nobles of this world always manage to turn normal social dances into abnormal, decadent gatherings.

In the council chamber of Silvermoon Castle, three noble knights clad in armor were drinking and chatting.

Leading the group was a middle-aged nobleman with a long, narrow face and a slender build. He was none other than Baron Fox, the lord of Silvermoon Territory, though he was generally known as the "Silver Fox Knight." The other two were Baron Bill, the "Rock Bear Knight" of Rocky Territory, and Baron Wolf, the "Frostwolf Knight" of Frostwind Territory.

These three barons were Livy's three neighbors, and they were all formal knights.

"Thank you both for gracing my ball."

Baron Fox said with a smile, his manners elegant.

"Old fox, just say what you want. Everyone knows that the Silver Fox family has always been cunning, and we Rock Bear family don't like beating around the bush."

The tall, muscular Rock Bear Knight spoke in a blunt tone. Years of practicing the Giant Bear Breathing Technique of the Rock Clan had made him far taller than ordinary people, standing at a full two meters and three inches, like a small giant. His full, strong muscles contained the same power as a bear.

"Big guy, you really haven't changed a bit, showing no respect for the Silver Fox Knight at all," the Frostwolf Knight said with a laugh. He glanced around and added, "Speaking of which, why aren't the Black Serpent Clan members here?"

The Silver Fox Knight coughed and then said, "The little black snake refused my kind invitation. I bet it was that Serpent Knight's idea. But it doesn't matter. Without Sord, the Black Snake family is already dead in name only. With just a Serpent Knight who is about to decline, it won't be long before they perish."

"The reason I've invited you all here today is to discuss the future plans of our three families. For this purpose, I've also invited a very important person."

After the Silver Fox Knight finished speaking, he clapped his hands.

Then the doors to the council chamber slowly opened, and a knight in plate armor with a flail hanging at his waist rumbled in, his face shrouded in his helmet.

"This is?"

The Rock Bear Knight and Frostwolf Knight's expressions changed slightly as they looked at the Silver Fox Knight.

"Don't panic, you two. This is the Wild Boar Rider from the Wilderness Brotherhood. He's not here to fight us, but to discuss something."

The Silver Fox Knight said with a smile.

"So you're the Wild Boar Knight. I've heard you practice the Wild Boar Breathing Technique, which grants you immense strength. Some even say your power surpasses that of our Rock Bear Clan. Heh heh." The Rock Bear Knight sneered, clearly unconvinced. In terms of strength, many excellent breathing techniques couldn't compare to their clan's Giant Bear Breathing Technique.

The boar rider glanced at the rock bear rider but said nothing.

"Silver Fox Knight, you actually invited the Wilderness Brotherhood. You know the consequences if the kingdom and the church find out."

The Frostwolf Knight's expression changed drastically.

"Only a few of us know about this. As long as you don't say anything, the church will naturally have no way of knowing," the Silver Fox Knight said with a meaningful smile, his eyes narrowed.

Upon hearing this, both the Rock Bear Knight and the Frostwolf Knight's expressions changed drastically.

The boar riders were blocking the entrance to the castle council chamber.

The Silver Fox Knight said apologetically, "I'm sorry, gentlemen. I was only doing this for the Silver Fox family."

"You...you don't actually think you can leave the two of us here, do you?" The Frostwolf Knight drew his sword from his waist, and the Rock Bear Knight swung his heavy hammer, which weighed over a hundred pounds.

The boar rider, who had been silent all along, pulled out a black, antique snuff bottle from somewhere and began chanting eerie, incantatory syllables.

"Lamp spirit, lamp spirit, quickly reveal yourself!"
