Another Encounter with Xie Yue in Soto City

Chapter 33 Another Encounter with Xie Yue in Soto City

Soto at night.

Inside the blacksmith's shop, amidst the flashes of lightning, Tang San, dressed in work clothes, hammered away at the rough, uneven stone. After several tens of minutes of polishing, the stone finally became smooth. By then, Tang San was drenched in sweat, but the moment he saw the finished product, all his fatigue seemed to vanish. He looked at the polished iron stone with satisfaction and delivered it to the shop owner.

Tang San worked at the blacksmith shop for two reasons: first, to earn money, and second, to constantly practice the Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique that his father had taught him.

He manages to balance both, which makes his days very fulfilling.

Xiao Wu came to see him very early today. In order not to keep Xiao Wu waiting, he quickly finished his tasks, received his daily wage, and prepared to take Xiao Wu to buy some carrots to eat.

But when he got to Xiao Wu, he found that she seemed to be troubled by something.

Tang San blinked and asked with concern, "Xiao Wu, is something bothering you?"

"Ah, brother." Xiao Wu snapped out of her daze and immediately realized what was going on. She smiled and said, "No, I was just feeling a little bored, so I was just spacing out for a while."

"Are you really alright?" Tang San looked at her, still a little worried.

Xiao Wu is his family, his sister. When his sister's emotions change, he should be the first to care about her.

"It's nothing, brother, I was just spacing out." Xiao Wu playfully stuck out her tongue, then tiptoed towards her beloved carrot.

"Hey, Xiao Wu..."

Tang San smiled helplessly, shook his head, and hurriedly followed in her footsteps.

After buying the carrots, the two found a bench on the street and sat down.

Tang San served Xiao Wu a carrot. As she ate, Xiao Wu tentatively asked, "Brother, what would you do if I got lost one day?"

"Of course I'm going to find you," Tang San replied without hesitation.

"What if you can't find it?" Xiao Wu asked again.

"If I can't find you, I'll search with all my might. No matter what, I will find you."

Tang San said firmly.

"No matter how many difficulties and dangers there are, I will overcome them and never leave you alone."

"..."

Xiao Wu's eyes welled up with tears. Although she already knew that Tang San would give such an answer, she was still touched and moved.

Tang San's sincerity towards her is beyond question.

How could her third brother be a villain who covets her soul ring and soul bone?

Ning Shu must be talking nonsense, definitely.

"Brother, thank you," Xiao Wu said, touched.

Tang San handed her a carrot, saying, "Silly girl, this is my duty."

……

……

Three days later, outside Shrek Academy, Tang San and his group were well prepared. Early in the morning, they were all in high spirits, except for Ma Hongjun, who looked listless and like he hadn't woken up yet.

After counting the number of people, Flander nodded in satisfaction. He had originally wanted to give Ning Shu, one of the "left-behind children," some instructions, but unfortunately, Ning Shu did not choose to get up so early to see them off.

Flanders pursed his lips but didn't say anything.

The main reason he went along was because Yu Xiaogang was also going.

Zhao Wuji is responsible for protecting the children, so he probably doesn't have the spare energy to take care of Yu Xiaogang. Therefore, there needs to be another person to take care of Yu Xiaogang, and he is the best person for that task.

"Alright, kids, let's go!"

As soon as Flander gave the order, everyone started running.

Shrek Academy is several hundred kilometers away from Star Dou Great Forest. If they don't run, it might take them several days to get there. Frand pulled Yu Xiaogang and flew in the air. The two of them went ahead, while Zhao Wuji was responsible for bringing up the rear and following the little monsters.

A few hours later, the sun shone on the three poles.

In the girls' dormitory.

Ning Shu had a rare, satisfying sleep. She got up, bathed in the sunlight streaming into the room through the window, and lazily yawned.

She scratched her messy hair, got out of bed, put on her slippers, and went outside to fetch water to wash up.

After washing up and getting dressed, it was just lunchtime.

There weren't many students at the academy today, so the cafeteria was closed. Ning Shu took out a few gold soul coins from under her pillow, tossed them around, and then ran excitedly toward Soto City.

Soto is not as lively during the day as it is at night, but there are still quite a few people around.

Ning Shu strolled around the streets for a while, then went to a small noodle shop to eat some specialty noodles.

She wasn't used to eating fancy delicacies; she preferred hole-in-the-wall restaurants to high-end ones.

"Boss, a bowl of noodles, please!"

Ning Shu found an empty seat, waved, and smiled.

The shopkeeper glanced back at her and quickly replied, "Alright! Please wait a moment, sir!"

Soon after, a steaming bowl of noodles was placed in front of Ning Shu.

Ning Shu smelled the scent and smiled contentedly.

It's her favorite flavor!

"Slurp slurp—"

Ning Shu devoured the noodles in a whirlwind and quickly finished them all.

At that moment, a figure appeared behind her, completely blocking out the sunlight that had been shining on her.

Ning Shu's eyes twitched slightly. It was the shadow of a young boy, and he looked somewhat familiar.

"Ah Shu?"

Before Ning Shu could turn around, the boy standing behind her spoke first.

"Brother Xieyue?"

Ning Shu turned around upon hearing the sound.

The two exchanged a glance, and Xie Yue laughed, "Ah Shu, it really is you. What are you doing here at this hour?"

During their last chat, Ning Shu clearly stated that she only appeared in Soto City at night, so Xie Yue couldn't help but be a little curious when he saw Ning Shu during the day.

Ning Shu had finished her noodles, so she didn't stay seated. She stood up, smiled, and said, "I'm on holiday these days, so I came out to find something to eat by myself. By the way, Brother Xie Yue, what are you doing here?"

Speak of the devil and he appears. Ning Shu originally came to Soto City just to try her luck, what if she ran into him?

This saved her the trouble of calling Guangling again.

"I've been hanging out here lately," Xie Yue answered truthfully. He glanced at the bowl of noodles that Ning Shu had finished in just a few bites and couldn't help but ask, "Ah Shu, are you full? If not, why don't you come eat with me? I have two people I'd like to introduce you to."

Two people?

Ning Shu blinked and readily agreed, "Okay!"

Without a doubt, it's the other two members of the golden generation.

"Mm." Xie Yue nodded and stepped aside to make way, acting very gentlemanly.

Ning Shu looked at him with a grin, thinking to herself, "Handsome guys are so pleasing to the eye! I like them so much!"

???

Xie Yue paused slightly, his cheeks flushing red in an instant. He quickly turned his head away in embarrassment, his heart suddenly pounding rapidly.
