Saving Heart Summer
Upon hearing the shout, Lin Chen and Agumon exchanged a glance and immediately turned and ran towards the direction from which the sound came.
This is a wide street with several abandoned vehicles parked on it due to the impending danger. At the end of the street is an unnamed school.
At that moment, a mangled corpse lay in the middle of the street, a gruesome sight.
Lin Chen stared at the corpse before him. The corpse's eyes were wide open, as if it had endured unimaginable pain before its death.
"Where are the demons?" Lin Chen frowned, searching his surroundings but finding nothing unusual.
"Only a short while has passed since we heard the sound and arrived here. Logically, the demons shouldn't be far away yet..."
"Coo coo coo!!!"
Lin Chen was puzzled. Before he could finish speaking, a hairy figure suddenly sprang out of the well next to him, opened its blood-red mouth, and bit the unsuspecting Lin Chen.
"roar!"
Agumon, standing next to Lin Chen, took a step forward and blocked Lin Chen's path. Its two claws flashed with golden light as it smashed towards the giant-eyed rat's two huge incisors.
With a loud "bang," Agumon sent the much larger Giant-Eyed Rats flying, sending them crashing into a nearby vehicle. With a sharp "crack," the Giant-Eyed Rats' front teeth broke off.
"Coo coo coo!"
The giant-eyed gorilla struggled to climb out of the vehicle, shook its head which was still a little dizzy from being hit, and looked at Agumon with fear in its eyes. It never expected that such a small monster could contain such great power.
"Agumon, take it down!" Lin Chen's gaze swept over the corpse not far away, and his voice unconsciously turned cold.
Agumon nodded, then stomped its legs on the ground and charged towards the giant-eyed rat like a cannonball.
The giant-eyed gorilla, seeing the imposing Agumon before it, had no intention of fighting it and turned to run away from Agumon.
Seeing the giant-eyed rat preparing to escape, Agumon stopped and spat out a fireball that landed precisely on the giant rat.
"boom!"
The giant-eyed ape-rat, already severely injured, lost its life force rapidly after being hit by the fireball. Its body twitched twice before it died completely.
Just then, Lin Chen saw a wisp of rat soul slowly drifting out of the giant-eyed ape rat's mouth.
Seeing the scene before him, Lin Chen's eyes lit up. He immediately thought of something, took a step forward, and ran towards the corpse of the giant-eyed ape.
As soon as Lin Chen arrived beside the giant-eyed gorilla, the rat's spirit seemed to be frightened and immediately drifted away from Lin Chen.
Lin Chen reached out to grab it, but he couldn't catch it at all.
"Host, please select an accessory style as a container to store the essence and remnants of the Digimon. The essence and remnants can enhance the strength of the Digimon."
The system notification suddenly rang in Lin Chen's mind. After thinking for a while, Lin Chen chose the style of the ring.
A golden light flashed, and a dark ring appeared in Lin Chen's hand.
With the appearance of the ring, the rat spirit seemed to have found its home and immediately floated towards the ring...
"I wonder if this is junior high or high school, and if there are any powerful magic teachers there."
Following the street, Lin Chen arrived at the school gate, where the school's plaque bore six large characters: "Mingwen Girls' Middle School".
"This is Ye Xinxia's school. I don't know if she has been rescued by Mo Fan or if she is in danger."
Lin Chen pondered for a while. Although he wasn't sure if Ye Xinxia was still in that supermarket, he still decided to go there to check.

Lin Chen scanned the area and quickly spotted the shopping plaza located south of Mingwen Girls' Middle School. He immediately took Agumon and headed in that direction.
Before long, Lin Chen arrived at the shopping plaza. The plaza was deserted, and the low whispers of demons could be heard from the surrounding area.
"Lin Chen, why did we come here? This place doesn't look safe. Aren't we supposed to go to a safe place?" Looking at the mess in front of the shopping plaza and feeling the demonic aura passing by, Agumon asked his question.
"To save people." Lin Chen didn't offer any further explanation.
Agumon didn't ask any further questions. Since Lin Chen had his own goals, Agumon would just focus on protecting him.
Soon, Lin Chen found the elevator in the shopping plaza that led to the underground Walmart supermarket.
The elevator quickly reached the basement level. Stepping out of the elevator, Lin Chen breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing the Walmart supermarket, which appeared to be undamaged.
Since there were no signs of a battle, it meant that Mo Fan had not yet arrived, and Ye Xinxia had not encountered any danger.

"Knock knock knock!"
A sound suddenly broke out in the previously quiet Walmart supermarket, making Ye Xinxia, who was hiding in a corner of the supermarket, jump in alarm.
"Knock knock knock, knock knock knock!"
The sound grew clearer and clearer. Ye Xinxia slowly lowered her head, her hair covering her face, and gripped the fruit knife tightly in her hands, as if only in this way could she gain a little bit of security.
"Lin Chen, someone's here!"
Suddenly, a voice reached Ye Xinxia's ears, and Ye Xinxia immediately opened her eyes.
As a result, she did not see any human figures, but instead a monster that looked like a dinosaur.
Ye Xinxia felt utterly hopeless, gripping the fruit knife in both hands, staring in terror at the Agumon before her.
Just then, Lin Chen appeared behind Agumon, which immediately made Ye Xinxia think of something, and her eyes were filled with anticipation.
"Hello, my name is Lin Chen, I'm a summoning mage, and this is my summoned beast—Agumon. Hope I didn't scare you!"
Seeing Ye Xinxia's panicked expression as she held a fruit knife to Agumon, Lin Chen quickly tried to explain.
"No...no," Ye Xinxia replied.
Lin Chen nodded, walked towards Ye Xinxia, and, gripping the wheelchair handles, pushed her out of the corner, asking knowingly:
"Young lady, what's your name? You have difficulty moving around, how come you came here alone?"
"My name is Ye Xinxia. I...I got separated from my friends." Although Ye Xinxia tried her best to hide it, the loneliness in her tone was still noticeable.
That makes sense, after all, Ye Xinxia was almost abandoned by the world just now.
"It's too dangerous here. Let me take you away now," Lin Chen said.
"No need, I have difficulty moving around and would only hold you back!" Ye Xinxia forced a smile as she recalled the people she had met before and said to Lin Chen.
"I am a mage, and helping ordinary people is what I should do. Even if you have difficulty moving, I will still take you away." Lin Chen looked at Ye Xinxia sincerely. His goal on this trip was to save people, so how could he abandon her because of such a small matter?
"Thank you!"
Feeling Lin Chen's sincerity, Ye Xinxia shed a tear. She realized that besides Brother Mo Fan, there were other people in this world who wouldn't see her as a burden and abandon her.
