Chapter 339
Battlefield Treasures
Chapter 339 Battlefield Treasures
Following Eileen's directions, Lin Chen and his group arrived at the top of a lonely mountain and found the healing mage who had set up a stall to treat patients.
Initially, Mo Fan and his companions were somewhat reluctant to rob this healing mage, since he didn't seek out treasures but earned resources through his own abilities.
But when they learned the price of a single treatment by the healing mage, Mo Fan and his companions immediately decided to rob him of everything.
This is simply a heartless businessman; robbing him is like doing a service to the people.
"Gentlemen, what do you want to do? One hundred million may seem like a lot, but I can give you back your full strength so you can continue exploring this treasure land. It really isn't much." Tony, a healing mage from Sweden, noticed that Lin Chen and the others' attitude was a bit off and quickly spoke in fluent Mandarin.
"Hey, you foreigner, you speak Chinese pretty well," Mo Fan said.
"I---" Just as Tony was about to say something, he noticed a dark shadow darting out from behind him and slapping him on the back of the head.
Before the dark figure's attack could land on the healing mage, a transparent barrier appeared, repelling the dark figure.
Seeing that his sneak attack had failed, the shadowy figure brazenly charged towards the barrier.
"You're trying to rob me!" Tony yelled, pulling out a space scroll provided by the event organizers from his pocket.
"Even a peak high-level mage would need 4 seconds to break this barrier. Within 4 seconds, I can crush the spatial scroll and leave. There's no need for us to fight to the death." Tony squeezed the spatial scroll tightly with his right hand, as if he would activate it if Lin Chen and the others showed any signs of trouble.
Lin Chen waved forward, summoning Gatomon back, and then said to Tony, "That's not how you use the 'fight to the death' approach. We'll make our move, you leave, we won't suffer any losses, but you won't be able to continue doing business."
Upon hearing Lin Chen's words, Tony was stunned. He carefully examined Lin Chen and his group and noticed that none of them seemed to have suffered any serious injuries.
"You're not here for treatment, you're here to rob me!" Tony said with some grief and indignation.
It wasn't that no one had ever considered robbing him before, but those people were only looking for treatment and thought his prices were too high. This was the first time they had encountered someone like Lin Chen who came specifically to rob him.
"That's right, so your previous tactics didn't work on us." Lin Chen paused for a moment, then continued, "Considering you also contributed to the treatment, I won't ask for more from you. Let's split it 60/40, I'll get 60 and you get 40, you still make a profit."
"Damn it, why don't you just rob me!" Tony yelled, but his expression quickly changed as he realized that the other side was indeed robbing him.
"Impossible. At most, I can offer you free treatment here." Tony was silent for a moment before proposing his solution.
"Seven out of three, I get seven and you get three!" Lin Chen said decisively.
"You want me out!" Tony was furious, but he didn't unroll the reel in his hand; he still wanted to struggle a bit more.
"80/20, I get 80% and you get 20%. By the way, other high-level mages need four seconds to break this barrier, but I don't. Once I make my move, not only will you lose your money, but you'll also have to stay here and work as a laborer for me to earn money," Lin Chen said.
"Damn it, I'm not making money off this, goodbye!" Tony cursed and started the reel.
But the instant the reel started rolling, a cloud of black mist enveloped Tony. When the mist dissipated, Tony was still standing in the same spot, but the reel in his hand had vanished.
"This—this—how is this possible!" Tony looked at Lin Chen in horror. The black mist he had just seen made him feel the threat of death. He knew he could die at any moment and that he couldn't escape using the power of the scroll.
"I already told you, I don't need four seconds, why didn't you believe me? Now you're my laborer, hand over all the money you've earned before," Lin Chen said.
Everyone else gets burned when they do bad things, but for Tony, it's like the steel plate is coming after him. Tony thought to himself, feeling frustrated.
"You heartless businessman, hurry up! Do you want us to search you?" Mo Fan walked up to Tony, patted his chubby belly, and said with a bright smile. It was so much more comfortable following Lin Chen. He didn't have to lift a finger or use his brain, and he even got to eat meat.
Tony looked at Lin Chen and his group, thinking about how his little money was about to leave him, and prepared to struggle a little longer.
"I've got some very valuable information for you, and I'll provide treatment services to support your next steps, but can we split the profits I made 50/50?"
Tony had barely finished speaking when he saw Lin Chen's expression change, and he immediately changed his mind, saying, "How about 70/30? You get 70%, I'll take 30%! Don't worry, my information is absolutely valuable!"
Lin Chen glanced at Tony and said, "Then we'll see how valuable your information is."
"Don't worry, it's absolutely valuable!" Tony shouted, then revealed what he knew: "Did you know that the Hunters' Alliance actually has a huge prize in this treasure hunt? It's like a giant diamond hidden in a pile of gold, awarded to whoever can find it?"
"I know about this, but I can't be sure," Eileen said after thinking for a moment.
"It's true. Some teams come in specifically for this treasure. They don't even look at the other treasures. This one is worth all the other treasures combined," Tony said excitedly.
"So, you know where that battlefield treasure is?" Mo Fan asked immediately.
"I only know a little bit, and I overheard it while treating the previous group of people. They don't know that I'm also a sound mage," Tony chuckled mischievously.
"The news is pretty good, so let's go for a 70/30 split. Let's give up our 70%," Lin Chen said.
"Oh, you want more? I haven't made much money from these shady methods!" Tony was taken aback; he thought his news would make the other party more magnanimous.
"I told you to split it 50/50, but you wouldn't have done it and insisted on fighting. Now that you've fought, you have to bear the consequences." Lin Chen said as he took 70% of Tony's spoils from him and divided them equally into five parts, with each person receiving 150 million.
"Where is that treasure?" After Tony cast a healing spell on Lin Chen and the others, Lin Chen asked.
"It seems to be in a lake valley, but unfortunately I haven't been to many places, so I don't know what kind of place it is," Tony said.
"Can we find that place?" Lin Chen asked Eileen and Jiang Shaoxu.
"Leave it to us," Jiang Shaoxu said.
After an unknown amount of time, just as Lin Chen was about to fall asleep, Jiang Shaoxu woke everyone up.
