Chapter 80
Research Completed and Hunting
Chapter 80 Research Completed and Hunting
In the end, Harry and his two friends arrived completely bewildered, and left equally bewildered, with Avada Kedavra following behind, secretly plotting something...
"Sorry, Ken."
The moment the entrance to the headmaster's office closed, Harry, looking guilty, apologized to Avada. Hermione and Ron also looked ashamed and embarrassed: "We misunderstood you."
"It's no big deal."
Avada shrugged. "If I were in your position, I'd probably think the same way. After all, Professor Snape doesn't really look... well, not exactly a good guy."
"Uh-huh!"
The three nodded repeatedly, sharing a common hatred for the enemy, and deeply agreed with Avada's words.
"As for the scene you saw, Harry, where Professor Snape threatened Professor Quirrell... to be honest, I don't know the specifics. But as you saw, Professor Dumbledore didn't react much after learning about it, which at least shows that everything is still within his expectations and control..."
Avada continued, "So, as Professor Dumbledore said, you don't need to worry too much about the Philosopher's Stone. According to you, even Professor Snape stumbled on Cerberus, so who else could get through? Besides, Dumbledore is still here... As long as Dumbledore is still at the school, the Philosopher's Stone is absolutely safe, without a doubt."
Avada smiled at them, then turned and went downstairs alone, giving them time to discuss it on their own.
He ultimately patched up Dumbledore's plan, reinforcing their trust in "Cerberus" and "Dumbledore," without hindering Dumbledore's scheme—in case his plan had problems or wasn't adopted, he always had a Plan B, right?
They can't really leave Voldemort alone at the end of the corridor studying the Mirror of Erised, and he might actually figure something out and steal the Philosopher's Stone, right? Voldemort is a top wizard on par with Dumbledore, and even though he's incredibly weak and his intelligence has been reduced, he still has the potential to break Dumbledore's magic.
"I'm not going to think about it anymore, I'm going to do research, do research..."
……
So, a few weeks later, the house was filled with requests for help.
[Dumbledore, Headmaster]
[Greetings. I am an adventurer from America, and unfortunately, for certain reasons, I cannot reveal my full name or identity, but that's not the point. The point is: I've found a way to deal with Voldemort.]
I've learned through my own channels that Voldemort might be after the Philosopher's Stone this year. I know you're a close friend of Nicolas Flamel, the creator of the Stone, and I've always heard you're Voldemort's greatest fear. Therefore, I've decided to pass this method on to you, hoping it will be of some help…
"In my youth, I explored Albania and encountered the spirit of Voldemort there. Unfortunately, I was bewitched and possessed by him. During this time, my consciousness returned, and I secretly recorded all his mental energy data using some clever methods, using this data to break free of his possession. Afterwards, I used this data as a reference to create a set of trap magic tailored specifically for Voldemort. However, I fear my own strength is insufficient to confront him, so I have decided to entrust this magic to you…"
The principle behind this magic is "sealing." As you know, since Voldemort was able to escape death eleven years ago, it means that killing him now won't be so easy. Therefore, I think it's a good idea to lock him up completely and then slowly figure out a way to eliminate him...
……
[Enclosed with this letter are five notebooks, four of which contain Voldemort's mental energy data, and one contains the principles and setup method of that trap spell...]
Wishing you good health and all the best.
"Okay, that's fine."
Avada looked with satisfaction at the letter he had just finished writing in printed font. After checking that the five notebooks he had copied with a shorthand quill pen did not contain his own handwriting or any information about himself, he packed them up, carefully erased all traces from the package, and finally put on a pair of gloves before picking up the package.
"Next, all I need to do is go to Hogsmeade and use the owl station there to send the package to Dumbledore."
"So close yet so far."
Avada Kedavra teleported himself directly into the spatial interlayer—with the Lifeline Curse, he didn't even need to bother with the trouble of exploring the secret passage.
Soon, in a corner of an alley in Hogsmeade, a person appeared out of nowhere, his face covered by a hood and bandages. He strode towards the Owl Station, communicated with the staff there in a voice specially altered by potions, paid the money, and watched as the owl carried his bag away before turning away with peace of mind.
"Since we're already here, why don't we take the opportunity to explore Hogsmeade? I haven't been to any of the famous attractions like Honeydukes, the Three Broomsticks, or the Screaming Shack yet, and the products from Zonko's Joke Shop should be worth checking out..."
As he was pondering this, he suddenly felt a surge of heat on the Dark Mark on his right arm—Voldemort was calling him.
"Is it finally time to make a move on the unicorn?"
Avada felt a chill run down her spine. She quickly found a secluded corner and cast the Boundless Spell, then sped up her broom and returned to her dormitory in less than half a minute. After stuffing the prepared package into her pocket, she ran to the third floor and knocked on the door of the Defense Against the Dark Arts office.
"Professor, you called for me? Is it time to begin the hunt?"
Avada closed the door and asked expectantly.
"That's right."
Voldemort nodded, a smirk playing on his lips. "That fool Hagrid finally fell for it. Lured by that dragon egg, he spilled everything… I've learned how to get past that dog unnoticed. Now, once I drink the unicorn blood and regain some strength, I can get my hands on that thing anytime. And by then, Hagrid will probably still be playing with his stupid dragon—oh no, maybe he'll already be discovered and fired…"
"Quiro will be leading you on this hunt. I'll rest and get ready first. Call me when the unicorn is killed."
As soon as he finished speaking, Quirrell's expression changed, and his body trembled—it was Quirrell himself who had returned.
"Then, Ken,..."
He spoke calmly, without a trace of his usual stuttering: "I will cast a Disillusionment Charm on you, so you can stay invisible and follow me. Don't be too nervous; unicorns aren't very resistant to Imperius Curses, and you can easily control them with your strength."
"After saying that, he took out his wand and gently tapped Avada's shoulder. Instantly, a familiar coolness enveloped him—Quirok's Disillusionment Charm was about the same level as his, but seemed slightly better."
"Let's go."
Quirrell hurried downstairs and left Hogwarts Castle, with the invisible Avada Kedavra following closely behind. Before leaving the castle, Quirrell transformed his clothes into a black, hooded cloak. Led by him, the two finally ventured deep into the Forbidden Forest…
"Show me the way."
Quirrell held his wand in his hand and twirled it gently, nodding in the direction the tip was pointing. "Just as expected, the unicorn is in that direction. Don't make a sound, follow me."
