Chapter 10
Tian Xiwei's Road to Fame
When Tian Xiwei opened her phone, she saw a string of red numbers '999' displayed below her Douyin (TikTok) feed.
She blinked her big eyes, looking a little confused. She raised her hand and clicked on the video she had posted yesterday. She saw that the number of likes, comments, favorites, and shares on the right had all reached four digits.
Confused, Tian Xiwei clicked on the comments section and took a look.
"Your sister is so beautiful! Her smile is so sweet!"
"What divine beauty! So pure and sweet!"
"I watched it 100 times in one night, it's so addictive!"
Looking at these comments, Tian Xiwei blinked rapidly with her big eyes.
She then checked her private messages.
"Wow, you're so pretty! You're from Shanghai!"
"Where is the beautiful woman from?"
"Beautiful lady, where do you live in Shanghai? I live in... You can check out my video."
"Miss, are you studying in Shanghai? I'm in Shanghai too."
The address wasn't displayed on Douyin; she only included it in the video she posted yesterday.
Looking at these private messages, Tian Xiwei gently swiped her finger down. There were all sorts of messages, some even asking for her contact information, which made her laugh.
"Xiaotian, get up quickly!" her roommate urged.
"Oh, okay." Tian Xiwei looked down at her phone, then thought for a moment and called Li Han.
At Li Han's dormitory, Li Han looked sleepy and clearly hadn't had enough sleep.
Returning to his college days, he still had some trouble adjusting.
The thing he finds hardest to adjust to is living with several other people in the dormitory. It's been so long since he lived in a dormitory like this in his previous life. He'll have to find a chance to move out sometime.
Picking up his phone, Li Han checked the time. He wanted to open Douyin to see how the video Tian Xiwei posted last night was doing.
Before he even opened Douyin, Tian Xiwei called him directly.
"Hello, Xiaotian?" Li Han answered the phone.
"Li Han, the video we filmed last night has gone viral!" Tian Xiwei said as she got out of bed, her tone full of excitement, which drew puzzled looks from the others.
"Oh?" Upon hearing this, Li Han was instantly wide awake.
"The video went viral?"
"Mmm, it exploded." Tian Xiwei nodded her little head, a happy smile on her face, and dimples appeared on her cheeks.
She just checked and found that her number of followers had suddenly increased to over 10,000.
"How's the data?" Li Han asked hurriedly, while simultaneously pulling up his own manager system to take a look.
"What are you doing?" His roommate looked at him with some confusion.
"Strange, the mission is still showing as ongoing. Is it because there aren't enough players?" Li Han muttered to himself.
"The data... take a look for yourself," Tian Xiwei said.
"Okay, see you later." Li Han said, hanging up the phone. He then quickly opened Douyin and clicked on Tian Xiwei's account.
She already had 12,000 followers, and when you clicked on her video, it had over 8,000 likes, and several thousand comments and saves.
This ratio is a bit alarming. Normally, when someone watches a video, they might like it at most, but they rarely comment or save it. However, the ratio of likes to comments and saves for Tian Xiwei's video is quite alarming, almost 1:3.
A ratio of 1:10 or 1:20 would be considered good.
While scrolling through the videos, Li Han also looked at Tian Xiwei's previous videos and found that they no longer had only a few likes and comments; each video now had several hundred or even thousands of likes and comments.
Xiaotian's video has gone viral! And it's only been one night.
After coming downstairs, Li Han slowly put on his clothes, washed up, and went to the toilet. Then everyone went downstairs to prepare to head to the teaching building.
As for breakfast? Does the university's food menu even include that?
Walking through the school, Li Han yawned as he looked around.
Compared to 2026, there are quite a few changes in 2016. These ten years have passed slowly, and you can't really feel anything under the influence. But if you go back to ten years ago all of a sudden, Li Han can clearly feel the changes of the times.
Li Han entered the classroom and searched for Tian Xiwei with his eyes.
Tian Xiwei also saw Li Han and quickly waved to her.
"Come, come, sit here with me."
Li Han smiled and then walked over.
Tian Xiwei also got up, preparing to sit down in a seat towards the back.
Seeing this, their roommates looked at the two of them with some confusion.
"Are these two really dating?"
Li Han walked over and saw Tian Xiwei blinking her eyes with a happy smile. Her round face looked a little silly when she smiled.
"How is it?" Li Han sat down with a smile.
"Xiaotian, you're practically an internet celebrity now."
"It's not that bad, it's only a few likes." Tian Xiwei said this, but she still smiled very happily.
"I was really surprised when I woke up this morning. I didn't expect that a video I just casually filmed yesterday would get nearly 10,000 likes. The video is so ordinary, there's nothing special about it."
"Things on the internet are hard to explain," Li Han said with a smile.
"It only has 10,000 likes right now, but it will definitely get higher later."
He couldn't remember how many likes this video had in his previous life, but it certainly couldn't have only been 10,000. A video with just over 10,000 likes wouldn't have been that popular.
"I thought..." Tian Xiwei looked at Li Han.
"Hmm?" Li Han looked at Tian Xiwei.
"Uh, no, nothing." Tian Xiwei licked her lips and waved her hand.
Looking at Tian Xiwei, Li Han smiled. He leaned closer and was about to say something when she said, "Do you want to check my private messages? I see some influencer companies have contacted me."
"Let me see," Li Han gestured.
Tian Xiwei then took out her phone, opened the Douyin private message function, and placed it in front of Li Han.
Li Han curiously leaned over to take a look, reaching out to scroll through Xiao Tian's phone.
Besides compliments on her looks, Xiaotian's private messages also included inquiries about whether she was interested in signing with any guild, and all sorts of random guilds.
"Ten out of ten of these guilds are scammers, ignore them," Li Han said, scrolling through his phone.
"Yes, I understand." Tian Xiwei nodded her head.
Besides these, Li Han also saw some rather... private messages. He smiled and looked up at Tian Xiwei.
"Why are people asking you where in Shanghai you're from?"
"Some people even ask you how old you are this year."
"Ignore them, they're a bunch of idiots," Tian Xiwei said, waving her hand.
Li Han smiled, then turned down the volume on Tian Xiwei's phone and opened her video. To his surprise, he found that the video had already received over 50,000 likes.
"Look, Xiaotian, the number of likes has exceeded 50,000," he immediately pointed out.
