Chapter 4
Isn't Chapter 4 a confession?
"Why do you say that?" Li Han glanced at Tian Xiwei, picked up a French fry, dipped it in tomato sauce, and started eating.
"Because I could clearly sense that your actions last night seemed intentional," Tian Xiwei said.
Li Han didn't speak, but looked at Tian Xiwei's lips and touched his own lips as a gesture.
Upon seeing this, Tian Xiwei reached out and touched her lips, only to find that there was a sesame seed stuck to them.
"I did lose to you on purpose, just so I could treat you to a meal," Li Han said.
Hearing this, Tian Xiwei smiled at Li Han, took another bite of her hamburger, and continued eating, her mouth full of food as she mumbled, "What's wrong? Did you feel guilty when you ate the breakfast I bought you yesterday morning? Feeling bad?"
"No, that's not it," Li Han said directly.
"I just wanted to invite you to dinner... Also, there's something I wanted to tell you."
Upon hearing this, Tian Xiwei immediately stopped chewing, her eyes narrowing as she looked at Li Han. "Is there something you need to tell me?" "No, seriously, buddy? This is so sudden!?"
"Right here?" Tian Xiwei looked around. Confessing her love in a hamburger joint? Do you think I'm a primary school student?
"Isn't this place convenient? Let's find a coffee shop later," Li Han said.
"No, the coffee shop too..." Tian Xiwei became a little nervous, and her hand holding the hamburger couldn't help but clench.
Seeing Tian Xiwei's nervous expression, Li Han immediately understood that Tian had misunderstood.
"Xiaotian, what do you think I'm trying to say to you?"
"Huh? Isn't it a confession...?" Tian Xiwei was taken aback and said subconsciously, but then became a little embarrassed.
"Uh." She lowered her head slightly, turned her head, and reached out to tidy her hair haphazardly. Her expression was somewhat shy, and her big eyes blinked rapidly.
"No, that's not it," Li Han immediately said upon seeing this.
"No?" Tian Xiwei suddenly looked up at Li Han, her big eyes staring blankly at him. But then she realized that her expression was a bit inappropriate, and the shyness on her face turned into embarrassment.
She turned her head away and pursed her lips.
"I, this." Seeing Tian Xiwei's expression, Li Han couldn't help but blink, his fingers unconsciously clenching.
"...Xiao Tian, if I really confess to you today." Li Han stepped forward and approached Tian Xiwei, looking at her profile, her snow-white skin and jet-black hair.
"Will you say yes?"
Upon hearing this, Tian Xiwei looked up at Li Han. Seeing how close he was, Tian Xiwei didn't blush or show any shyness. Instead, she narrowed her eyes.
"Come any closer, or I'll shove a hamburger into your mouth!"
"Heh." Li Han chuckled, then withdrew, confirming that no matter how sweet Xiao Tian was, she was still that Sichuan-Chongqing tyrannical mother at heart.
Seeing Li Han sit back down, Tian Xiwei's big eyes sparkled. Then she put down her hamburger, picked up her cola, and took a sip.
"What do you want from me?"
"Let's eat first, then we can talk," Li Han said. Xiao Tian was right; this place was indeed not suitable for conversation.
"Just making a fuss." Tian Xiwei picked up her hamburger and continued eating.
After finishing their meal, Li Han ordered two more hamburgers to take home for Tian Xiwei to eat.
After they came out, the two went into a coffee shop and sat down.
"Two coconut lattes," Li Han said, noticing that he had put on a pair of glasses at some point.
Holding two coconut lattes, Li Han and Tian Xiwei found a secluded spot by the window to sit down; there weren't many people in the shop at this hour.
"What do you want from me?" Tian Xiwei asked, taking a sip of coffee and looking at Li Han. "And when did you get those glasses?"
Upon hearing this, Li Han looked at Tian Xiwei, then stood up, took off his glasses, and placed them on the table.
"Xiaotian, logically speaking, you shouldn't be able to understand what I'm about to say, but to satisfy your curiosity, I'm going to explain to you clearly why I came to find you, and then state my purpose."
"..." Tian Xiwei looked at Li Han.
"Okay, thank you!"
"The development of the Internet era can be described as magnificent, and everyone is in the torrent of the times. Over the years, many people have stood at the top of the Internet through their own efforts or luck."
"At that summit, there is boundless glory, boundless temptation, and boundless risk. It all depends on how you handle it. Looking at the past is clearer than looking at the future."
"This is an era of the rise of the internet. Tencent, iQiyi, Douyin, Kuaishou, Bilibili, and other major platforms are vying for dominance. This is both an opportunity and a chance, with many opportunities that we cannot see or grasp."
"But Oda, to me, the internet these days... Oda?"
As Li Han was talking, he saw Tian Xiwei pick up a hamburger and start eating it again.
"Hmm?" Tian Xiwei looked up at Li Han, her mouth bulging.
"Go on, I'm listening. The main thing is that you told me you're hungry."
"...What else can I say?" Li Han sat down helplessly.
"You mean you want me to seize the opportunities of the internet? Why are you telling me this?" Tian Xiwei looked at him in confusion.
"In short, I want to support you." Li Han placed his hands on the table, interlaced his fingers, and looked at Tian Xiwei with a mysterious expression.
"Praise me? Are you kidding me?"
Tian Xiwei burst out laughing; she still thought Li Han was talking nonsense.
"You're just an unknown college student, not an internet celebrity, and you have no connections. What makes you think you can support me?"
"That's because I smell 'star' on you," Li Han said solemnly, looking at Tian Xiwei.
"What? I didn't eat fish?" Tian Xiwei tugged at her clothes and sniffed.
"...the star of a celebrity," Li Han said irritably.
"Oh, okay." Tian Xiwei nodded.
"No, what I mean is, you have nothing to offer, so why should you flatter me?"
"Although I'm just a college student right now, my ambition isn't to be a pure actor or a pure star. To put it bluntly, I want to start my own studio later, and I want to sign you," Li Han said, adopting the same long-winded tone as before.
"No, you didn't understand what I meant. I meant you have no money and no life, so what makes you want to support me?" Tian Xiwei said, smoothing her hair.
"In this day and age, actors are certainly important, but the most important thing is the star. Look at these years, which one of the real harvesters of fans isn't a handsome man or a beautiful woman? Looks are king. Acting skills? Fans will debate that. So if we want to have our own identity and status in the future entertainment industry..." Li Han continued to talk eloquently.
Tian Xiwei was already exasperated. She simply stopped listening and continued eating her hamburger with her head down. "If you like to talk, then keep talking. If you like talking so much, why don't you become a teacher?"
