Chapter 9

Golza

"It's the ground! A huge crack has appeared in the ground!" Xiong Er, who was constantly monitoring his surroundings, suddenly shouted at the top of his lungs over the communication channel.

"How could the ground crack when it was perfectly fine?" Team member Changze instinctively wanted to retort, but before he could finish speaking, Xiong Er's terrified roar rang out again.

"A dinosaur... crawled out of that crack!!"

As soon as Xiong Er finished speaking, Sakata's fingers flew across the control panel. A few seconds later, the image from Xiong Er's monitoring room was forcibly switched and instantly projected onto the main screen in the center of the cockpit.

"What...what kind of monster is this?!"

Looking at the colossal beast standing like a mountain on the screen, Shizuka couldn't help but gasp.

Even Nagasawa, a pilot known as a "dead man," was startled by the sudden visual impact, causing his control stick to jerk.

"It seems that those abnormal vibrations we detected earlier were caused by this big guy..." Although Captain Sato was also shocked by the scene before him, he quickly calmed himself down.

"Shizuka, Nagasawa, immediately engage and intercept the target! Xiong Er, you continue to keep a close watch on this monster's movements!"

Captain Sato's calm commands acted like a stabilizing force, instantly restoring order to the somewhat chaotic control room.

"Sakata, can you analyze the monster's specific data?"

Without looking up, Sakata, the team member engrossed in operating the equipment, reported rapidly to his superior: "Species cannot be confirmed! But the scan shows that this monster is 63 meters tall and has an astonishing mass of 68,000 tons! My God... This density defies the laws of physics; it absolutely cannot be an Earth creature!"

Upon hearing these terrifying figures, Captain Sato's pupils constricted. It's worth noting that the largest living mammal on Earth, the blue whale, while reaching over 30 meters in length, weighs only about 180 tons. Compared to that, the monster before him was practically a walking steel fortress.

"Don't panic! This is humanity's first spaceship. Let's show this monster the power of modern technology!"

Despite being deeply shocked by the data, Captain Sato still displayed the decisiveness of a commander.

"Furthermore, countless civilians are seeking refuge below. No matter who our opponent is, we cannot retreat a single step! CEA team, move out in full!"

"Hai!" ×4

Meanwhile, the online live stream room had already exploded with excitement.

[Oh my god! What on earth is that monster?!]

Is it really an alien invasion of Earth?

[What are you afraid of! Our spaceship is much bigger than this monster, we'll be fine!]

The comments scrolled wildly. Although a few people felt deep fear, most people still had confidence in humanity's cutting-edge technology and looked forward to the spaceships crushing the monsters.

Beneath the clouds, the monster named Golza had just crawled out of the ground. It had been lurking deep underground, greedily pursuing the energy of light, but when it passed by this place, it sensed the huge energy fluctuation above its head.

It broke through the soil, and the long-awaited sunlight shone on it. It should have felt warm, but it had already been corrupted by the aura of the evil god. At this moment, it only felt that the sunlight was dazzling and disgusting.

The pitted and scarred marks on its body are proof that it has been distorted by the power of the evil god.

In the sky, the Dragon Might was turning its bow at full speed. Taking advantage of Golza's unstable footing, beams of high-energy lasers shot out from the spaceship's cannons, accurately striking Golza.

However, the expected explosion did not occur; the laser struck its thick keratin layer, only causing a tiny spark.

Golza was wondering who was giving it a "gua sha" treatment when it sluggishly turned its head and saw a steel behemoth that was even larger than itself and was floating in the air.

Its majesty as an ancient monster was challenged. It opened its blood-red maw and let out a soul-shaking roar, then took heavy steps and approached the spaceship directly.

With each step its massive body took forward, the earth trembled violently, as if the entire surface of the earth was groaning beneath its feet.

The Dragon's Might continued to unleash its firepower. Although it was equipped with the most advanced interstellar travel weapons in human history, no one had ever imagined that it would encounter such a prehistoric monster weighing more than 60,000 tons on its own planet.

"Captain! Our attacks are completely ineffective!" Shizuka, the team member in charge of the main gun attack, looked at Golza, who was unharmed in the artillery fire and was still approaching. Her voice finally trembled slightly.

"Dragon Might, immediately increase altitude! Quickly create distance!" Captain Sato made a decisive decision and shouted the order into the communicator.

"Roger!" Nagasawa team members dared not delay in the slightest, and pushed the thrusters to full speed. The engines of the space battleship roared, and the huge hull drew a sharp arc in the air, rapidly climbing into the sky.

Seeing its prey take flight, Golza halted its heavy steps. It stood still, its head, rough as rock, beginning to glow with a chilling purple light, the surrounding air seeming to distort as this energy gathered.

"Beep beep beep—"

A piercing alarm instantly filled the cockpit, and Xiong Er's terrified roar came through the communicator: "Captain! An extremely dangerous energy reaction has been detected in the monster's head! That massive energy surge is about to erupt! Everyone, be careful, that's...!"

Before Xiong Er could finish his warning, Golza suddenly raised its head, and a thick purple destructive beam, accompanied by a piercing roar, shot out from its forehead, heading straight for the Dragon Might hovering in mid-air!

The shadow of death instantly loomed over the warship, just as the purple light was about to engulf its hull.

"boom!"

A dazzling beam of light appeared out of thin air without warning, firmly blocking the path in front of the Dragon Might.

The purple rays that were originally powerful enough to pierce through the warship were completely blocked by the sacred radiance the moment they hit the beam of light, and then dissipated into countless points of light in the air.

As the intense light dissipated, a figure in red and silver colors floated in the air, clearly having blocked all the energy attacks.

"That is..."

Captain Sato stared blankly at the back of the figure blocking the warship, his throat tightening slightly as he muttered to himself:

"Is this... a divine intervention?"
