Chapter 21

New Professor Black

Belvina Black is truly adept at stabbing people in the lungs, even more so than magic.

Severus Snape was speechless with just one simple sentence. The old bat's already sallow complexion turned even yellower, as if it had just been evenly coated with a layer of butter.

puff!

Originally, Bassheda Bablin had a very serious expression and was ready for battle, but she couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"I'm sorry, Professor Snape." Bathsheda pursed her lips, forcing back a laugh. "I just suddenly thought of something funny. Really, you have to believe me."

They're such good friends; when they couldn't hold back their laughter, they gave the exact same excuse.

"Heh." Snape chuckled. "You're still as annoying as ever, Black. Didn't they line up to see you off when you left the Ministry of Magic?"

Snape glanced at the students still lingering in the Great Hall, his desire to deduct points from everyone growing stronger. Their refusal to leave was hindering the Slytherin Headmaster's performance.

“No need for you to worry, Severus,” Belvina replied. “Oh, you have no idea, I originally thought I was going to be teaching the Defense Against the Dark Arts course! Luckily, Professor Curiosity volunteered, it really scared me to death!”

Belvina gently stroked her breasts with one hand while turning her head to look at Bassheda beside her. The whole sequence of actions made her seem both cunning and manipulative.

Especially when he kept mentioning Severus, it sounded so friendly, but there was no shortage of venom in his words.

Damn it! Don't these bastards have to go to class?! Deduct points! Deduct points from all of them!

This is probably a true reflection of Snape's inner thoughts. Belvina's weaknesses should not be exposed in public, which greatly weakens Snape's fighting ability.

Although the two Slytherin professors were verbally abusive and unwilling to back down, they both knew exactly what to say and what not to say.

"I wouldn't be so relieved if I were you." Snape narrowed his eyes, like a viper eyeing its prey. "The Howl Letter is just the beginning. Do you think the parents want you to stay here?"

Before the words had even finished, Snape had already turned and left. He walked very fast, his black robes billowing behind him as if he were flying close to the ground.

This time it was Belvina's turn to break down. She hadn't even launched a counterattack yet, and Snape had already left!

"Alright, alright, don't be angry." Bassheda soothed Belvina, who wanted to chase after her and fight another three hundred rounds, as if coaxing a child.

"He ran away in a panic, he ran away, right?" Belvina said indignantly. "So I won today! I won!"

"Yes, yes, you win, Professor Snape has escaped." Bassheda continued to reassure him, while silently praying in her heart: Salazar Slytherin, please protect Slytherin's common room from being blown up.

One is a renowned academic star at Hogwarts, a Potions Master, Dumbledore's spy planted within the Dark Lord's inner circle, and the youngest Headmaster of Hogwarts. The other comes from a distinguished family, is a high-ranking official in the Ministry of Magic, and the mastermind behind the Minister's rise to power.

These two people would be prominent figures anywhere, but when they appear in the same space, they immediately transform into childish children, insisting on arguing to see who is better, and the scene becomes as heated as a collision between Mars and Earth.

It's true that enemies are destined to meet; Snape really does have an inextricable connection with the surname Black.

After breakfast, Belvina parted ways with Bassheda; they each had to prepare for their lessons, as it was their duty.

Although the elective course professors were "isolated" by the principal, their schedules were relatively relaxed. For example, Belvina's Muggle Studies course had less than ten classes a week, while some of the required courses had nearly forty classes to attend.

Belvina got back to her classroom before 8:30.

The classroom's style was exactly the same as Belvina's office, with no decorations whatsoever. The items in the classroom were also very simply arranged: a few rows of desks and chairs, a blackboard, a podium, and a piano; it was impossible to tell that this was a classroom in a magic school.

There is a spiral staircase on the inside of the classroom, at the top of which is a suite containing a bedroom, living room, and office, highlighting that although it is small, it has all the necessary functions.

It was still early, so Belvina casually dragged a chair over to the window, sat down quietly, rested her chin on her hand, and looked out the window, lost in thought.

After a while, several students arrived at the classroom. They politely knocked on the door and then casually found a seat. As third-graders, their first class of the new semester was an elective, and one taught by a new professor at that, so they were understandably excited and curious.

They were excited because it was their first elective course, and people are always excited and nervous the first time.

The curiosity stems from the fact that the new professor is quite a topic of discussion. Whether it's her age and appearance, her previous experience working at the Ministry of Magic, or the roaring letter this morning, all of these are enough to make Belvina a trending topic at Hogwarts.

As time ticked by, more and more students filled the classroom, and a cacophony of whispers gradually rose up.

The boys secretly glanced at Belvina; it's inevitable for teenagers to have romantic fantasies about adult women, and sometimes they even indulge in unrealistic associations.

This is normal, considering that when Signas Black was thirteen, his eldest daughter, Bellatrix, had already been born.

The girls were also observing Belvina, admiring the new professor's outstanding looks and wondering where she bought her clothes. Even at Hogwarts, connections remained a perennial topic.

Today, Belvina's attire is relatively simple. Her pure white high-necked long-sleeved dress is fresh and elegant, highlighting her curves without appearing frivolous or wanton. The serpentine brooch on her chest adds a touch of elegance, making her look like she's going to a banquet rather than giving a lesson to a group of precocious little wizards.

The only pity is that the kind people who were generous in the past are now unusually stingy.

Of course, the students' discussions also included the roaring letter, after all, the scene was too unique.

In the past, even if someone received a yelling letter, it was mostly a student who had caused a serious problem. It was really rare for a professor, especially a new professor, to receive a yelling letter.

Some mischievous boys even made bets in private, wondering if the beautiful female professor would secretly cry.

It's possible that the students didn't know Belvina well enough, which is why they subconsciously thought she was a delicate and beautiful woman who would have her mentality collapse because of a letter of outburst.

Belvina is no weak or helpless little girl. She is a tough and resilient woman who has worked as a civil servant in the Ministry of Magic for six years, braving all kinds of dangers and working in various departments and Downing Street!

She had read all the books her students had read, and she had also read books her students hadn't read. A person who could use Mrs. Black's yelling as an alarm clock would not be afraid of a mere letter of shouting.

Belvina didn't care at all about the roaring letter from Alaminta; in fact, she was secretly pleased.

Whether returning to Hogwarts was Fudge's "great" arrangement or Dumbledore's ulterior motives, Belvina was clearly manipulated, like a chess piece on a chessboard or a puppet in the hands of a puppeteer.

Belvina's lack of resistance does not mean she readily accepted the arrangements made by the two elders; she has a temper too!

The roaring letter came at just the right time. Belvina used it to tell the old bee living on the eighth floor of the castle, and to Fudge in London, that their actions had hurt her and that they had to do something!

A crying child has milk.

You don't necessarily have to know how to solve the problems, but the sound of turning the pages must be loud.

Therefore, whether Belvina's acting skills are poor or not is completely unimportant, since it can't fool Dumbledore's eyes that seem to see through everyone. This is her open scheme, and even the great Dumbledore has to accept it.

As for Alaminta, who wrote the yelling letter, she can just take some time to write a letter back and yell back. Belvina is so bold that she even dares to talk back to her own mother, let alone Alaminta, her mother's sister.

It was almost time, so Belvina stood up and walked onto the podium, one hand on the lectern, her figure graceful and elegant.

"Before class officially begins, we have a few minutes to chat," Belvina said with a smile and a gentle voice. "If you've ever bet anyone that I cried because of the yelling letter, you've lost!"

A joke instantly bridged the gap between the professor and the students, and since Belvina herself wasn't much older than the students, she seemed even more approachable.

Indeed, not many, just the age when Signas could have fathered Bellatrix.

"Fred and George, right?" Belvina asked uncertainly. She spotted the twins with fiery red hair in the crowd. They looked so alike that even their freckles were in almost the same place.

The Weasley twins stood up confidently, bowing comically, their conspicuous demeanor on full display.

"Mr. Weasley would be very pleased to know you've chosen this course," Belvina continued. "But let's make it clear beforehand, I don't like playing twin games."

Although mischievous, Fred and George didn't immediately start their little game—guess who I am. The two brothers just grinned, just like the simple-minded fools in the village.

"Mr. Diggory!" Belvina continued, demonstrating her connections at the Ministry of Magic. "You are indeed as handsome as your father described."

Cedric Diggory stood up shyly, his reserved demeanor captivating the group of girls.

Next, Belvina named several other people whose parents either worked for the Ministry of Magic or knew Belvina through some means.

It seemed like Belvina was trying to build relationships, and she really was; she was getting closer to her students.

In just a few minutes, Belvina transformed from a new professor into an old acquaintance returning from afar, quickly becoming one with her students.

"Alright, let's get back to the main topic," Belvina said. "I'm sure you haven't forgotten my name. Belvina Black, you can call me Professor Black, or you can just call me by my first name."

As she spoke, Belvina took out a piece of chalk and wrote her name on the blackboard.

As a powerful witch, she could have used magic to write on the blackboard, but instead she used Muggle methods.

"I used to work in the Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters at the Ministry of Magic, was a member of the Muggle Mediation Committee, served as the head of the Office of Misinformation, and was also responsible for protecting another minister. Before returning to Hogwarts, I was the head of the Public Information Service. Oh, I hope your parents don't work as journalists; I don't want to receive a second yelling letter anytime soon."

In just a few words, Belvina succinctly presented her resume, demonstrating that she was fully capable of serving as a professor of Muggle Studies.

"In my classes, you have no need to use magic, so you can put your wands away," Belvina continued. "My classes aren't about teaching you about Muggles, but about showing you what Muggles are like in my eyes."

The students looked at each other, unable to understand what Belvina meant.

"Alright, now who can tell me why a Muggle is a Muggle?"
